Chapter 10: Chapter Ten: Luo Luo, Let It Go

In the spacious and quiet study, Qi Zhenan sat on a chair, his gaze calm as he looked at her, devoid of joy or sorrow: "I know what you mean..."

"No, you don't!" Agatha Grey interrupted him urgently. She was truly agitated by Quintina Foster's earlier provocation, and tonight, she had lost all patience; even her voice had become sharper: "I just want to do something for you. You've been so good to me, really, it makes me feel terrible. Just let me do something for you, brother! Otherwise, I can't rest easy."

Seeing that Qi Zhenan remained silent, she bit her lower lip in frustration and, gathering her courage, stepped forward to gently embrace his lean waist.

Countless joyful thoughts flashed through her mind, but they soon turned into cold reality.

Because a large hand stopped her.

Qi Zhenan caught her hand and shook his head: "You don't need to do this."

"But I want to," Agatha Grey said anxiously.

Why was she inferior to Quintina Foster? Why could she do things that Agatha Grey couldn't?

Kristin Whyet waved her hand: "Forget it. I can cook occasionally, but I'm not cut out for daily kitchen work. I'm not that great. Here, have another piece!"

Taking a deep breath, she sat down again, smiling: "Alright, you eat too."

Kristin Whyet sighed and put down her chopsticks: "I wish I could, but I'm full. You seem to have a good appetite, though."

Quintina Foster's smile froze, and she subconsciously touched her belly, biting her lip without saying a word.

Kristin Whyet didn't notice her small gesture and continued: "That's good. I was so worried about you before."

She referred to the days right after Quintina Foster's family crisis, when her world had crumbled and she couldn't eat. Now, seeing Quintina Foster's improved appetite made Kristin Whyet happy.

Little did Kristin Whyet know that Quintina Foster's appetite was due to her pregnancy.

And now, Quintina Foster didn't plan to tell her the truth.

Telling her would only worry her, so why bother?

"Oh, by the way," Kristin Whyet said, her expression turning serious. "Take this."

She handed Quintina Foster a card.

Quintina Foster was startled and quickly pushed the card back: "What's this? I don't need it!"

"Take it. I don't have much money, but this should help you in a pinch, right?" Kristin Whyet tried to persuade her to accept the card.

Quintina Foster shook her head vehemently: "No, no, I have money. I don't need yours, really!"

Kristin Whyet paused: "You have money? Where did it come from?"

"I, I..."

Quintina Foster was at a loss for words.

How could she explain? Could she say that the money came from selling herself, and to none other than her greatest enemy, Qi Zhenan, who had ruined her family?

As her emotions swirled, suddenly, someone grasped her hand. Kristin Whyet's soft voice came to her ear: "Luo, there's something I've always wanted to tell you."

Quintina Foster turned to look at her, and her red, tearful eyes met Kristin Whyet's gaze.

This made Kristin Whyet even more concerned.

She said: "Why don't you go abroad, take your parents with you? I'll help you with the money."

"Zhenzhen!"

Quintina Foster looked at her in disbelief, tears quickly filling her eyes again: "Zhenzhen! You don't have to do this for me, really!"

"Fool, you're my best friend. If I don't help you, who will? Do you think I'd let you go to Qi Zhenan?"

At the mention of Qi Zhenan's name, Quintina Foster's face stiffened, but Kristin Whyet didn't notice.

She urged gently: "Really, think about it. Take your parents abroad, leave this place, and start a new life, okay?"

Her voice was soft, and her expression sincere: "Luo, I can't bear to see you torture yourself anymore. Let it go."
