I didn't expect him to follow me out.

"Sophia, Catherine meant no harm. She's young — she just likes to play around."

"Catherine's father died protecting me. His last wish was for me to take care of her. I'll admit she's been a little spoiled, but you're my mate. Don't get angry over something so small."

In the world of werewolves, having your hair cut by someone was a humiliation. It was never "something small."

Blake had given me this exact speech in my past life, too.

Back then, I was already furious about the lock of hair. Hearing Blake defend Catherine pushed me over the edge. I stormed into the Council of Elders and severed our mate bond in front of everyone, then turned and left.

I thought dignity mattered more than life.

But then I endured the searing agony of a broken bond, walking through the freezing winter night for hours until my feet bled through my shoes. Blake didn't send anyone after me. Instead, he branded me a traitor. Every wolf in the pack came after me, and I was dragged back to that nightmare of a silver cell.

The irony was too much.

A bitter smile tugged at my lips.

Blake's expression hardened. "What's that look supposed to mean? I've told you a hundred times — after Catherine's father died, she became like a sister to me. Stop reading something into our relationship that isn't there."

"It was one lock of hair. It's not like you went bald. You're the Luna of this pack. Act like it."

I saw the cold edge in his eyes.

My heart clenched — as if a wolfsbane-laced blade had been driven through it.

But the pain wasn't for Blake. It was for the fool I'd been in my past life, the girl who gave him everything.

In that life, after I was locked in the silver cell and my skin burned day and night — after I finally escaped — an enemy pack captured me. Their witch poisoned me, trying to force me to reveal Blue Lake Pack's defense plans.

I was curled up on the ground, trembling in agony, but my fingers were still locked tight around the wolf-soul ring Blake had given me. He'd given it to me the first time we were together. He had sworn before the Moon Goddess that his rank and status would be mine to share, that I would be his only mate.

So even on the edge of death, I clenched my jaw and didn't breathe a single word.

But when I dragged my broken body back to Blake, he just stood there, arms crossed, looking down at me.

"So you finally know you were wrong, Sophia? Too late. Our bond is severed. Your problems aren't mine anymore."

The wolfsbane surged through me again. I coughed up black blood, my body seizing.

In the last moment before the darkness took me, I saw Blake kissing Catherine in the Temple of the Moon Goddess — the same tender look in his eyes he once had for me.

The ring slipped from my fingers.

That's when I realized: I was never his only mate.

I buried those memories and said evenly, "Blake, I'm not making assumptions about your relationship."

"Relax. I know Catherine's young. She was just playing a joke. I'm not angry. I'm just tired."

Surprise flickered across Blake's face.

I didn't look at him again. I turned and walked toward the apartment on the west side of the pack grounds.

After I died in my past life, my soul drifted above my body.

That was when I learned the truth: I was the Alpha King's only daughter. A curse had sealed my scent and my abilities since childhood.

In this life, when I opened my eyes, I could gradually feel my wolf stirring inside me — and I could feel my father, still desperately searching for me.

I pulled out an encrypted phone and dialed the Beta of Blood Moon Pack.

"Hello. I need to speak with the Alpha King."

In this life, I didn't want to be some overlooked Luna. I just wanted to be my father's daughter.

My father's pack healer bandaged my wounds. When he heard that spies had infiltrated the pack, he thought Blake was incompetent and chose to interrogate Catherine himself."Sweetheart, you've suffered so much all these years.""If I hadn't sent you and your mother ahead during the ambush, the enemy pack would never have cursed you."He looked at my bandaged injuries, his eyes full of pain."I'll make it up to you, baby. Forty-five, but you'd never guess it.Blake had always been possessive. He connected my earlier excitement to Rossi's arrival and immediately suspected a link between us."She's been unwell. Not up for visitors.""Unwell?""Tell me, Blake. What exactly has happened to your Luna?"My father sensed the moment his connection to me was severed. He knew something was wrong.A suffocating wave of dominance crashed through the hall.Lower-ranked wolves buckled and dropped to their knees. Even Blake — an Alpha — felt the pressure deep in his blood. It was the absolute authority of a supreme Alpha. He couldn't even think about resisting. But he still wouldn't talk.Meanwhile, I'd slipped past the patrols and reached the Temple of the Moon Goddess. The witch gave me an antidote. As the drug wore off, I headed for th

He almost reached for the bruise.I shifted away before he could touch me.His expression darkened, his eyes turning vicious."Sophia, I've warned you not to hurt Catherine."He gripped my chin, forcing my face up."Since you refuse to behave and won't participate in the Moon Ceremony, Catherine will take your place as officiant.""You'll walk behind her and carry her train.""And if you mess this up —"He smirked and pulled a crystal bracelet from his pocket. My mother's bracelet.
