KIER'S POV:

Celestine walks in.

And for a moment, I do not recognize her.

She is wearing a cream colored dress, simple and elegant. Her hair is down, falling in soft waves around her shoulders, and her face is clean of makeup except for a little something on her lips. She looks younger than I remember, more beautiful.

She looks like what she is. An heiress. A Valancourt. Someone who outranks me in every possible way.

I stand up amd my mouth opens but nothing comes out.

She did not smile nor did

  • After The Divorce: Ex-Husband Regrets And Begs Me   Our Love, Written in Ink

DAMON'S POV:Back at home, I watched her television interviews from the living room while holding my little Athena in my arms, and my chest swelled with immense pride. She looked so radiant, so strong, and so brave.Isabelle had taken the most vulnerable, private parts of our shared history and turned them into a gift for the world. She opened her heart and her soul to total strangers, sharing her deepest scars and her greatest triumphs. And in return, the world embraced her with open arms.I had never felt prouder of anyone in my entire life. She came through the front door that evening, looking tired from the travel but wearing a bright, joyful smile. She walked straight into the living room where I sat with our daughter and dropped her bag by the sofa."How did the final interview go?" I asked, setting my coffee cup down."It went wonderfully," she said, kicking off her heels. "Just wonderfully."I stood up from the couch, walked across the rug, and pulled her into a gent

  • After The Divorce: Ex-Husband Regrets And Begs Me   From Heartbreak to Bestseller

ISABELLE'S POV:It was a massive event, drawing reporters, television crews, flash photography, and eager fans from all over the country. The room was packed shoulder-to-shoulder, the stage lights blazed overhead, and the television cameras rolled continuously.I stepped up to the podium, taking a deep breath to steady the hammering of my heart. I had spoken at public events before, but this felt entirely different. This was my actual life laid bare for everyone to dissect."Good afternoon, everyone," I said into the microphone, my voice surprisingly steady. "Thank you all so much for being here today."The bustling room instantly fell into a hush. The journalists leaned forward in their seats, pens poised over notebooks and digital recorders running."I am sure you all have plenty of questions," I added with a small smile. "I am ready to answer them."The questions came fast and furious from every corner of the room."Ms. Valancourt, how does it feel to watch your most intimat

  • After The Divorce: Ex-Husband Regrets And Begs Me   The Sniper’s Promise

ISABELLE'S POV:My new book title I was writing was called The Snipers Promise. It was a name that popped into my head right in the middle of the night, only a few weeks after little Athena was born. I was sitting comfortably in the rocking chair in the nursery, holding my sleeping daughter close to my chest while my mind drifted through the winding path of our past. I thought about the garden, the childhood promise made so many years ago, the painful rejection, the long and agonizing years apart, our sudden and dramatic reunion, the terrifying attack, our wedding day, and finally, the birth of our baby girl. Sitting there in the chair, I knew without a doubt that I had to write it all down. Not as a fictional story with changed names and altered details, but as the raw, unvarnished truth. Our truth.I began writing right then and there. I pushed through the sheer physical tiredness, the sleepless nights, the endless rounds of feeding and changing diapers, and all those quiet mome

  • After The Divorce: Ex-Husband Regrets And Begs Me   A Mother's Promise Broken

DAMON'S POV:My mother flinched slightly at my words, casting a hurt glance in my direction. Her eyes were full of deep sorrow."I know she is," my mother said softly. "Looking at her brings back memories of when you were this exact size, Damon. I remember holding you in my hospital room for the very first time. I remember making a silent promise to protect you, to love you with everything I had, and to be the best mother I could possibly be."She paused, taking a shaky breath to steady herself."I broke that promise somewhere along the way. I failed you when you needed me most, and I let my own ambitions blind me. I am so, so sorry for all of it."I did not say a word in response. I honestly did not know what kind of reply would even fit that moment.Isabelle carefully and gently transferred Athena from her arms into my mother's waiting embrace. My mother looked down at her granddaughter, and her entire face instantly softened into a genuine, radiant smile and I could see it w

  • After The Divorce: Ex-Husband Regrets And Begs Me   A Grandmother's Tears

DAMON'S POV:They arrived promptly the next afternoon.I watched them walk slowly up the long driveway from the front window, their steps hesitant and unsure, their faces pale under the afternoon sun. My mother was clutching her purse tightly against her chest like a lifeline. My father walked a half step behind her, his shoulders slightly hunched, his eyes darting back and forth across the yard as if he expected someone to jump out and attack them at any second. They looked genuinely nervous. They looked terrified, actually. They looked like two people who knew they had made massive mistakes and were now facing the terrifying consequences of their own actions.I opened the front door wide before they even had a chance to raise their hands and knock."Mother. Father." My voice was completely calm, almost flat. I was not going to pretend everything was fine right away."Damon," my mother breathed out, her voice cracking and shaky. "Thank you so much for letting us come here today

  • After The Divorce: Ex-Husband Regrets And Begs Me   A Second Chance at Family

DAMON'S POV:The phone call came exactly three days after we brought our little girl home from the hospital.I was sitting quietly in the corner of the nursery, holding Athena in my arms and watching her sleep. She was so tiny, so fragile, and entirely perfect. Her little chest rose and fell with each soft breath, and her miniature fingers were curled tightly against the fabric of my shirt. I felt like I could have sat there forever just watching her breathe, holding her close, and marveling at the living miracle resting right against my heart. My phone buzzed loudly in my pocket, breaking the peaceful silence. I completely ignored it. I did not want to move an inch. I did not want to disturb the precious moment or wake up my sleeping daughter. But the phone buzzed again. And then again. And yet again. With a soft sigh, I carefully and gently handed Athena over to Isabelle, who was sitting comfortably in the rocking chair right beside me. She looked up from her book, her brown e

The first time Kier met Sable Morwenna was at a charity gala about six months after his father died.He was standing by the bar, looking miserable, drinking too much and wishing he could leave. • After The Divorce: Ex-Husband Regrets And Begs Me   Kier Thornwell

Kier Thornwell looked like he belonged on a magazine cover even when he was just standing in an elevator. Thirty eight years old. Strong jaw and sharp cheekbones. • After The Divorce: Ex-Husband Regrets And Begs Me   The Promise Keeper
