“Golden Cove is a promising site. The current is slow there, and the water bends around the hillside. Old prospectors used to say that’s where gold settles.”

“And the banks are full of horsetail. That usually means the soil is rich in minerals. I’d estimate this deposit holds more than a hundred tons.”

A familiar voice rang in my ears, and I suddenly snapped back to myself.

I found myself standing at the door of the conference room.

The one speaking confidently onstage was Jane Parker, the new intern who had just joined the institute.

I quickly glanced around. The familiar faces all around me made it hit me at once.

I had been reborn.

Reborn to the very day my fiancé’s junior apprentice first claimed she had clairvoyant sight.

Thunderous applause soon erupted across the room, celebrating the fact that she had once again found a gold mine for the country and brought honor to the institute.

When the applause finally died down, the institute director looked at her with open admiration.

“Jane, you’ve done the institute another great service.”

“Why don’t you share your experience with everyone? Tell us how you managed to find another gold mine so quickly and so accurately.”

Jane tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and answered smugly, “That’s because of my special gift. I’ve had clairvoyant sight ever since I was little. Nothing in this world can escape my eyes. All I have to do is take one look at the mountains and rivers, and I know exactly where the gold is.”

The moment she finished speaking, the room broke into thunderous applause again.

The entire institute was celebrating.

But my heart sank.

Everything was exactly the same as it had been in my last life.

Back then, Jane had also claimed she had clairvoyant sight and could see through everything in the world.

At first, people were skeptical.

But after she repeatedly found major gold deposits with nothing more than a glance, everyone began to believe her without question.

“Exactly. Look at Jane. She just joined the institute and has already found two major gold mines. The crews working with her have already earned first-class commendations.”

I was furious when I heard the crew complaining.

I suspected they were the ones deliberately leaking information to Jane.

Later, I left the engineering crew behind and found a major gold deposit on my own.

Just when I thought I was finally about to clear my name, I discovered that Jane had once again reported the mine I found before I could.

Outraged, I brought out my field notes and accused Jane of stealing my survey results.

Furious and embarrassed, she turned the tables on me and claimed her clairvoyant sight had revealed that I had been secretly pocketing gold during the exploration process.

My fiancé, Ryan Cole, stepped forward too and sided with his junior apprentice, helping her accuse me.

In the end, I was thrown into prison on false charges and died there with my name never cleared.

My parents tried to fight for justice for me, only to be tricked by Jane into going deep into the mountains, where they were killed.

Heaven finally showed mercy and gave me a second chance.
