Chapter 6

Author: Faye Catches Loaches
After Andro left the Martial Arts Association, it was already getting late, so he hailed a cab and returned home.

When he entered, he saw his parents sitting on the couch. They seemed to be waiting for him to come home.

"Andro, there's something we want to talk to you about," Seraphine spoke first.

Andro sat down and looked at them curiously, waiting for them to continue.

"Andro, where's the Beast Crystal? We've decided to sell it."

"A premium-quality Ferocious Beast Crystal can sell for about $12,000. We can then buy you some supplements and try to get you to reach the cultivation threshold before the national exam!"

They had originally planned to do this secretly and surprise Andro with the supplements.

But when they went into Andro's room, they only found an empty box. The Beast Crystal was nowhere to be seen.

Andro turned to his father. "Weren't you always against selling it?"

Damon sighed. "I was being way too stubborn. I should have been more mindful of our family's financial situation.

"When the captain gave me that Beast Crystal, he actually told me to sell it for some money, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Now, I've finally come to terms with it."

Over the past year, their family's financial situation had become increasingly difficult. Damon also knew Andro's fire sensitivity was 0.9, just 0.1 shy of the threshold. Maybe with the help of supplements, he could bridge that gap. If Andro could gain cultivation qualification, it would all be worth it.

There were only three months left until the national exam. The entry requirement for college was having cultivation qualification. If Andro's sensitivity could reach 1, he could get into a college.

Even the lowest-ranked college was still a college. After graduating, at the very least, he would be an early-stage Body Temperer, and he could still do pretty well for himself.

"We're not selling it!" Andro shook his head.

There was nothing to sell, because he'd already devoured the crystal.

"Huh?" Both of them looked at Andro, puzzled.

In the past, whenever they argued about this matter, although Andro didn't support the idea, he was never against it either. Why had he suddenly changed his mind?

"Selling it is out of the question. Don't worry about me, you guys. I can already cultivate!" Andro revealed the truth to his parents.

Over the past year, his parents had been really worried about him. It was high time to put their minds at ease and let them be happy for once.

"You can cultivate?" Both of them stared at Andro, completely stunned.

A moment later, Seraphine stood up, walked over to Andro, and reached out to touch his forehead. "Andro, are you feeling well?"

Andro knew they wouldn't believe him, so he took out a certificate. "See for yourself!"

Seraphine checked the certificate. "Early-Stage Body Temperer Certificate?"

As she stared at the certificate, her hands couldn't help but tremble.

"Let me see, let me see!" Damon could only shout from the couch due to his disability.

Seraphine went to him and handed him the certificate. When he saw it, he exclaimed excitedly, "It really is an Early-Stage Body Temperer Certificate!"

His expression was complicated.

Becoming an early-stage Body Temperer three months before the national exam was something only top students could pull off. Most students could only become a Body Temperer after getting into college.

Andro smiled looking at their reactions. He'd actually gotten four certificates at once. Luckily, he didn't show them the Peak-Stage Body Temperer Certificate, or they might faint from excitement.

He stood up and returned to his room, choosing not to disturb their excitement.

The next day, the homeroom teacher walked up to the podium in class and looked at everyone. "Today, we'll have practical combat training. It'll also serve as a test to evaluate your progress.

"The national exam is just around the corner. I hope all of you will show your true capabilities. The school will register the outstanding performers in this training session, and these selected students will receive special training in the coming months!"

It was the home stretch before the national exam, and the school had certain targets to meet. Therefore, the students' results weren't just the students' problems, but also the school's.

"Alright, everyone, head to the practical combat training ground! This time, it's a school-wide training, so don't embarrass me!" The homeroom teacher glared at everyone.

The training ground was less than twenty minutes away from the classroom building by foot.

When Andro arrived, there were already over a thousand people there.

A while later, all the classes were divided into ten groups. Andro's Class 7 was assigned to Group 2.

Each group had an instructor.

"My name is Troy Murphy, and I'm your instructor. Now, who's going to step forward first?"

"Mr. Murphy, are we going to fight you?" a student asked.

Troy chuckled, "Fight me? I'm a peak-stage Body Temperer, so if you really want to fight me, go ahead!"

"Uh…"

The students' expressions changed when they heard that. A peak-stage Body Temperer? Even their school's number one genius didn't have that kind of strength.

"The first one to step forward will be the king of the hill, so to speak. What? No one's got the guts?" Troy scanned the crowd.

Just then, one of the students stood up and walked to the center of the arena. "My name is Egor Lohan!"

"It's Egor!" The students looked taken aback when they saw Egor.

Egor Lohan, 12th grade, ranked 5th among the top ten geniuses of Rovechester High.

"Egor Lohan actually got assigned to our group? How are we supposed to fight him?!" someone muttered, exasperated.

If they went up to challenge Egor, they'd just get thrashed.

When he saw Egor step forward, Troy nodded with satisfaction. He then turned his attention back to the other students. Since no one else dared to step forward, he had no choice but to call someone out.

There was no other way around it. He needed to assess the students' practical combat abilities to find the outstanding ones among them, and he could only assess them if they fought.

"You!" He pointed at a random student.

The student's face fell. He nervously went up.

Bam!

As soon as the fight started, he was knocked to the ground.

"You." Troy continued picking challengers.

As time went on, one challenger after another was defeated by Egor. Even the strongest challenger couldn't last more than three moves.

"You!" Troy continued.

"Go, Class Rep!"

Suddenly, the students of Class 7 started cheering.

The class representative who was called out shook his head with a bitter smile. He knew how strong Egor was, and he knew he was definitely no match for Egor.

Sure enough, after he went up, he only lasted ten moves before getting defeated.

The students of Class 7 instantly became deflated.

"Egor is just too strong, it's practically bullying!" Someone shook their head helplessly.

Some of the girls looked at Egor with sparkling eyes.

"Not bad!" Troy nodded with satisfaction at Egor's performance.

Egor must have already reached the threshold for early-stage Body Tempering.

After that, Troy scanned the remaining people who hadn't fought yet.

"You!" He pointed at Andro.

Andro stood up. Hank tugged at his sleeve and said, "Just fall down immediately when the fight starts. Don't let him hit you!"

Andro nodded. After walking onto the arena, he simply stated, "My name's Andro!"

His expression was incredibly calm, which surprised all the students watching.

"He doesn't look nervous at all!"

"If you're called, you have to go up. Since he's gonna get beaten anyway, he's probably just mentally prepared to lose already!"

After defeating so many people, Egor was clearly getting a bit bored. He casually asked Andro, "Ready?"

"Ready!" Andro nodded.

The moment Andro finished talking, Egor charged right at him. He wanted to quickly wrap up this boring fight.

He pounced like a cheetah, moving at extreme speed. In the blink of an eye, he was already in front of Andro.

Some of the girls couldn't help but scream.

"Egor!"

"Egor!"

The atmosphere reached a climax.

Bam!

A figure was sent flying back.

"I want to challenge Andro Cunningham from Rovechester High!"Malcolm struck the gong and shouted. He looked smug when he saw everyone looking at him. The first person to issue a challenge would naturally become the center of attention. Most importantly, the one he challenged was Andro. He was bravely eliminating the nepo baby for justice despite Andro's powerful background. The others would surely thank him."Let's go check it out!" Some expressed interest. Many of them actually wanted to challenge Andro too; they just hadn't made the decision that quickly. Now, someone had taken the plunge, so they naturally wanted to witness the nepo baby get eliminated."Is he an idiot?" Cedric looked at the smug-looking Malcolm and frowned. He knew that many of the students thought Andro was a nepo baby who got in through connections. Something like that had indeed happened before. But Andro had gotten first place in everything since joining the training camp. Didn't they consider the possi

"Fine. If you win against him, you can have his points, I don't want them. Also, if someone challenges you at the training camp in the future, tell them you're with me," Frederick replied with a nod.Originally, he had wanted to challenge Andro himself, but now, someone was willing to do it for him, which was even better. Moreover, if everyone knew that the person who defeated Andro was his underling, it would further prove his humility and strength."Thank you, Frederick!" Malcolm was overjoyed. His current ranking was 17th. Because his amount of points was somewhere in the middle, his situation was very dangerous. There would definitely be no shortage of people wanting to challenge him. With Frederick's protection, anyone who wanted to challenge him would have to consider the consequences."No. 2, Joseph Brick.""No. 1, Andro Cunningham."Cedric continued reading from the list. After Joseph got his student card and returned, Andro stepped forward to get his."This training

"Now, I will distribute your student cards," Ariel said.Cedric walked over and addressed the students. "Instructor Spencer and Instructor Teague have awarded you points based on your performance in the mechanical puppet rooms yesterday, and these points have already been loaded into your student card."After you get your student card, you can return to your room. In your room, there's a machine to check your points."In addition, your room number yesterday is not your room number today. After you get your student card, the number on the card will be your new room number. That means some people may have to switch rooms."Yesterday's rooms were assigned based on a rough assessment, while today's rooms were assigned based on the specific rankings given by the two chief instructors after going through all the surveillance.Hearing this, some people looked expectant, especially Joseph and Frederick. They felt that their chance to secure Room No. 1 had come again."Who do you think w

The gravity room and infrared room were easy to understand. The gravity room was simply a cultivation room that increased gravity, used to train one's endurance. The infrared room was for training movement techniques and agility. The battle room was a new thing. From the name, it should be a cultivation room for fighting opponents, but the specifics were unknown."As for the person in charge, her name is Ariel Spencer. She's something else!"Leslie was clearly more interested in talking about Ariel. He said excitedly as if he were gossiping, "She was also a Genius Training Camp participant in the past. She actually got first place that year. After graduating college, she joined the Western War Zone. She's only in her thirties, but she's already a brigadier."Leslie's eyes held clear admiration. Rising to the rank of brigadier was not just a matter of talent. One also had to render great service on the front lines to achieve it."Not bad!"Andro nodded in satisfaction. If he had

"Hi, Andro!"Leslie sat down across from Andro and greeted him politely."Do I know you?" Andro looked at him and asked, confused. He had not spoken to any students since entering the training camp, so he was somewhat surprised when Leslie suddenly greeted him."You probably don't remember. I asked you which school you were from when we were climbing up the mountain," Leslie replied with a smile.Andro thought for a moment, then nodded. He picked up a piece of meat and put it in his mouth. "Something you need?""Uh…" Leslie felt a little awkward. He had come over to get acquainted with Andro, but now he did not know what to say. After a moment of silence, he took a deep breath, then looked at Andro, who was eating, and said, "I want to be your sidekick."After saying this, he lowered his head, not daring to look at Andro.Andro looked up and smiled. "Be my sidekick? The others think I'm a nepo baby. If you hang out with me, people will badmouth you."Right now, everyone in th

The two students were stunned. They couldn't believe their ears.Joseph was about to say something, but Cedric cut him off sternly, "Enough. Take your keys and go to your rooms. Move!"The two had no choice but to take their keys and head to the rest area, but their eyes were full of frustration. After they were far away, Joseph said, "Andro Cunningham is the guy who got in through connections, right?""Right, but what kind of connections does he have to make the training camp assign Room No. 1 for him?" Frederick was puzzled.Room No. 1 was not only a good resting environment but also a symbol of strength. The Genius Training Camp valued prodigies greatly. To not only get in through connections but also get assigned Room No. 1, his background must be terrifyingly strong."No matter what kind of connections he has, he can only rely on his own strength in the days to come. When the tests are held in full view of everyone, I'd like to see how he takes first place," Joseph said ind
