ROSAELIE

“Looks like you had a lot of fun with Elias.”

I had just opened my bedroom door when Xavier’s voice greeted me right away.

I froze.

Four pairs of eyes immediately turned toward me.

They were all waiting for me outside my room..

I looked at each of their faces in turn, in disbelief.

Lucien, Xavier, Elias, and Rowan. The four of them were standing in different spots, as if they’d deliberately gathered to wait for me to come home.

And from Xavier’s expression, I knew I wouldn’t be able

ELIAS“This will never work if we keep hiding it.”I stared blankly ahead. That sentence had been going round and round in my head ever since Rosa left the room a little while ago.I let out a long sigh. We all knew what had to be done.We just didn’t know how to go about it.Rosa’s problem was actually simple. If only this were just about the stupid bet we made, everything could be resolved easily. We’d just have to admit that we did make the bet, apologize, and then accept whatever her reaction might be.Maybe she’d get angry. Maybe she’d kick us out.Maybe she’d refuse to speak to us for a few days. But at least it would all be over. However, this isn’t just about the bet. That’s the problem. There’s something much bigger that we can’t tell her.Not yet, anyway. The four of us have always acted childishly when it comes to things that involve only us.We’re used to doing everything as a group. If one of us has a silly idea, the other three will go along with it.If one of us makes

XAVIER“She misunderstood.”I told them what had happened after I called Elias and Rowan into Lucien’s room, since they were the only two who hadn’t been here earlier. Now the four of us were just sitting in a silence so heavy it felt hard to breathe.Rowan stood by the window.Elias sat on the sofa with his arms crossed over his chest.Lucien was pacing back and forth like someone who didn’t know what to do.And me? I could only stare at the floor.Damn it.All of our minds were in complete disarray.Rosa had misunderstood everything. And the most frustrating part was that we couldn’t clear up that misunderstanding.I bit my lip without realizing it. We couldn’t tell her. Not yet.Rosa isn’t in love with any of us yet. That’s the problem. And when I think about that, my chest feels even tighter.I should never have suggested that bet.Never. This is all my fault.I’m the one who started it. I’m the one who turned something that should never have been a game into a stupid competition

ROSAELIE “Don’t touch me!”I immediately pushed away Xavier’s hand just as he was about to grab my arm.I didn’t even know when this anger had turned into something far more bitter.I stared at him, my chest heaving.“I don’t want to be part of your game. I’m tired!Xavier froze. I could see the confusion on his face, but I didn’t care.I was too exhausted to keep pretending that everything was fine.“So, please just finish whatever game you’re playing,” I continued. “There’s only one week left before summer break. After that, I’ll be free of all of you.”Silence immediately filled the room. I could see the change in their expressions.Xavier stared at me as if he’d just heard something he never expected.Lucien looked surprised, too.Maybe they didn’t expect my mood to change this quickly.Maybe they thought I’d laugh along with them like I usually do.But I couldn’t. Not after everything I’d just heard. Not after realizing that maybe all this time I’d just been part of a game.“Ros

ROSAELIE “So… are you scared?”I stared at Lucien without blinking. He’d just finished telling me the most terrifying part of his past, and now he was actually laughing at my expression. I didn’t know whether to feel relieved or even more confused.I looked at his face for a few seconds, trying to figure out how old he was when all that happened.Ten years old? Maybe eleven. Or twelve at the oldest. He was still just a little boy when he killed that man.A child who saw his mother with a strange man and thought she was being hurt.A child who probably didn’t even fully understand what death meant.Still, the ending to that story was so unexpected.I furrowed my brow. Wait.I started thinking about everything from my own perspective. What if someone tried to rape my mother? I wouldn’t even have to think twice.I’d kill him. No matter who he was or what his reason was.If I saw someone trying to hurt my mother like that, I might do something far worse than what Lucien did.I’m not eve

ROSAELIE “Where are you going?”I froze. My hand, which had just touched the doorknob, stopped immediately. Slowly, I turned around and saw that Lucien had opened his eyes.Damn.I hadn’t even managed to get out of his room yet. And I’d been trying to move as quietly as possible.I woke up a few minutes ago and immediately realized something that made my whole body tense up. Lucien was hugging me.It wasn’t just a hug.Our bodies were so close there was almost no space between us.I didn’t know how we’d managed to fall asleep in this position.Last night, after I agreed to his request to stay, I thought for a moment that Lucien might do something else. Our relationship has never really been simple, and I’ve gotten too used to the way they treat me.But Lucien didn’t do anything. He just held me all night.I don’t even know how to process it.Maybe that’s why I wanted to leave before he woke up.But as soon as I moved even a little, Lucien woke up immediately and pulled me back towar

  • All My Alpha Stepbrothers   Chapter 54: Don't Go.

LUCIEN I grumbled as I slammed my bedroom door shut.I didn’t want to be disturbed right now. After what happened in front of the mansion earlier, I needed some time alone. I needed space to clear my head and get a handle on something that kept trying to tear down my defenses from within.I didn’t want to think about Rowan or Rosa.I walked over to the window and stood there, staring out at the mansion’s grounds, which were starting to empty out. The night air felt cold, but not cold enough to take away the pain still lingering in my chest.I clenched my fists. Damn it.I hate the fact that a single simple sight can drag me back to a past I’ve been trying to bury for so long. And what annoyed me the most was the fact that I knew it wasn’t Rowan’s fault.I didn’t hit him because he did something to me.I didn’t even really see him as Rowan when my hand flew out. All I saw was someone else.I sighed. I had sworn that I no longer cared about that woman.I’d sworn I wouldn’t let the pa
