Chapter 13

Author: Master Star
On the day of my burial, everyone wore black and was utterly grief-stricken.

After laying me to rest in the cemetery, Collin, Peter, and Michael quietly went off to drink.

I looked around, but I couldn’t see Richard anywhere. Had he not come to say goodbye?

But just as I thought entered my mind, I saw him arrive, dragging a bound and helpless Faye along with him.

At that moment, Michael and the others drew their daggers and struck Faye, one by one.

She started with pitiful wails, but gradually, her screams weakened as life drained from her.

I watched, unable to look away, as Faye was tortured to death. Surprisingly, I felt a strange satisfaction deep inside of me.

They pretended to be deeply emotional as they killed Faye, chanting my name as they slit her throat. But inside, I felt nothing.

However, when I saw Richard holding a knife, I suddenly cried and tried to rush forward to stop him.

But everything that had happened up until that point didn’t matter to Richard.

  • All Routes Leads to Chaos   Chapter 12

In the end, Peter took me back to his house. When he saw no one was around, he broke down and cried openly, his sobs echoing through the room.I had long since endured the heartache of a thousand wounds, and now, I felt no emotion at all.I even thought that Peter’s tears were nothing more than false sympathy. At that moment, Collin arrived. When he saw me lying on the bed, my body bruised and battered, he froze in disbelief and could no longer keep his calm.“Wake up, Luna! Don’t scare me.”Step by step, he moved closer to my lifeless body, shaking it, desperate for me to rise.Seeing his dramatic display, Richard turned away with a sneer and muttered, “Now you regret it? Where were you when this was all happening? Who are you trying to fool with that act?”Collin didn’t pay any attention to Richard’s harsh words. Instead, he lowered his head and wept.I could feel his tears falling on my body, but all it did was make my stomach churn.Michael was the last to arrive. He co

Just then, I heard the system's "ding" as it logged in. It informed me that the report had been approved, and it was time to erase me.I begged the system for two more minutes, asking for a chance to say a proper goodbye to Richard. Fortunately, the system agreed to my request, as if it had seen something.Richard held my hand, his voice trembling as he said, “I know you don’t want to live anymore, and I respect your decision.”My nose tingled as I felt the first real understanding from someone about what I was going through. I gently embraced him, inhaling the faint lavender scent that lingered on his skin. After all these years, his scent hadn’t changed.“Thank you for staying with me in these last moments.”Perhaps it was because I was nearing death, but I couldn’t help but reflect. I never imagined that in the final moments of my life, it would be Richard—the one I had failed to capture for less than half a year—who would be by my side.We exchanged many words we ha

I clenched my teeth in hatred at the thought."Is this how you repay me after I defended you against your bullies?"Faye tugged harder at my hair."You think I wanted your help? If it weren’t for my background, I’d be higher up, and you’d all be looking up at me."So, everything had been my own foolish delusion.I had helped her, only to unknowingly ruin her plans. But I didn’t hate her because of her origins. After all, as an illegitimate child, she had no reason to act with such arrogance. For her to ask me to die in her place was unforgivable."If you had just told the truth or rejected my help when I offered it, none of this would have happened."I didn’t hold your background against you. I even told Mother not to involve an innocent life and made sure you could go to school. You should be grateful."But she didn’t listen to a word I said, proudly continuing to gloat in front of me, claiming I would stay locked away here forever. And indeed, she had tortured me. I s

After spending a week in the psychiatric hospital, Faye came to see me.She found an excuse to send the nurse away, then clicked her high heels loudly as she walked toward me, her eyes barely concealing the smugness within.“You must be suffering here, right? You want to die but can’t.“I’ll give you some bad news. The torment you’re enduring here is all because of me. It’s just a pretext to make you believe it’s for your own good, and they bought it.”I had long grown accustomed to things like this. She often did such things just to see me grovel and beg for mercy.Seeing that I didn’t react as expected, she roughly yanked my hair.“Do you know how jealous I am of you?“You had a happy family in your original world, and even the man I liked preferred you over me.”For a moment, I couldn’t process her words. How did she know about my past life? I was sure no one else knew, so where did she learn it from?Unless, like me, she too was an outsider in this world—another player i

  • All Routes Leads to Chaos   Chapter 8

I heard the rush of air in my ears, followed by a loud thud as I felt the air cushion beneath me. My head spun, and I saw a crowd of people surrounding me.Michael happened to be driving by, and when he realized the person who had attempted suicide was me, he quickly pushed through the crowd, shouting my name.In the past, I had watched others attempt suicide and thought death seemed like an easy thing. But when it came to my own turn, I realized that dying was actually a very difficult task to complete.I had fallen from such a high floor, but the air cushion had softened my landing. I only sustained a mild concussion. This time, Peter was angrier than I had ever seen him. He immediately arranged for me to be sent to the largest psychiatric hospital in Halewick.Collin supported his action, believing that I was beyond saving. As for Michael, he looked at me with disdain, not wanting to speak to me at all. They had originally felt some pity for me due to my illness, but
