Cierra's POV

My phone wouldn’t stop ringing. It buzzed against the hospital bedsheet like it was determined to drag me out of the thin peace I’d managed to gather. I checked the screen and sighed.

Mom.

Of course.

The last person I wanted to speak to was the one calling me nonstop.

I answered anyway.

“Hey, Mum.”

Her voice exploded immediately, sharp, dramatic, like she’d been rehearsing the moment I picked up.

“Cierra, why? Why would you do this to me?”

I hissed under my breath. “Really, Mom? At this point? You’re seriously doing this?”

“I am in jail, Cierra!” she snapped. “In jail because of you! Because I’m trying to make life worth living for you!”

I closed my eyes. “Mom, please. Please. Let’s not play that game right now. We both know everything you’re doing is to maintain your… useless reputation. To be the ‘IT girl’ of your little fantasy world.”

There was a long pause.

Then she scoffed. “I should’ve known better than to let your father pour his sperm inside me.”

I rolled my eyes

Cierra's POV I kept my eyes glued to the window, watching cars slice through the night like they had no problems in the world. People walked past the club...laughing, shouting, drunk, excited, living their lives with a freedom I couldn’t even pretend to have. My mind was a tight knot of panic, shame, and exhaustion.George’s hand slid into mine.“Baby… you okay?”I nodded, but it was a lie.I was cooked. Beyond cooked. Burnt, done, finished.Going back into that club felt like walking into a fire with gasoline dripping down my back. Yes, maybe Dominic hadn’t recognized me at the hospital...maybe the mask and the lights and the chaos of that night we made out hid me, but what if someone called my work name? Silver. Mallory. My boss. Anyone. Chelsea, especially Chelsea, that demon reincarnated in human form. One shout of “Midnight Ballerina!”And boom...my entire life would collapse like a badly built house.I swallowed the fear rising in my throat.“George…” My voice cracked a lit

George's POV I stared at her, and for a moment I genuinely hated myself. Hated that I still loved this woman after everything.Don’t get me wrong, I know what I am. I know exactly how many times I betrayed her, how many times I messed up. I never pretended to be perfect. But I always cleaned up after my disasters. I always came back home. I always returned to her.Yet here I was...wounded, furious, and still hopelessly in love. And what broke me the most wasn’t the idea of her with another man. It was the fact that the man was him.Dominic.My father...not by blood, but by the twisted situation that had shaped our lives. To the world he was my father. To reality, more like an older brother. But titles didn’t matter right now. Betrayal did.I swallowed hard, forcing out the words.“So… how many times have you made out with my dad?”Cierra hissed sharply. “No, don’t you dare act like a victim. Not when you...of all people, cheated on me at the very moment you should’ve been trying to

Cierra's POVThe moment the door swung open, my whole soul dropped into my stomach.I hissed under my breath, realizing the door wasn’t even locked in the first place.I turned toward Dominic, heart beating too loudly in my chest. My voice came out in a whisper, thin and shaky.“I thought you locked the door.”Dominic let out a low sigh... that deep, unimpressed kind he does when he’s already three steps ahead of everyone else.“It’s a card-lock door,” he murmured, barely moving his lips, eyes fixed on whatever silhouette stood behind me. “Whoever opened that… is the same person who brought you here. The human was handed a card...It’s the rule.”I blinked. My pulse was punching against my ribs.“Fuck,” I whispered. "Don’t worry...I got this...you don't need to swim in regret.”He let out a soft scoff, smoothing down his shirt like he wasn’t even fazed.“Regret?” he muttered. “Do I look like someone worried about regret?”No.No, he didn’t.He never did.His aura alone could swallow a

Cierra's POV “Uh… I....I…”But the rest of my words just died in my throat. It was the way he entered the room.Dominic.My stepdad. The same man I’ve spent half my life trying to understand and the other half trying to avoid. He had that presence again, the one that makes the air shift the second he walks in.The doorway couldn’t even contain him.Tall, broad shoulders, veins tracing his forearms, that casual confidence in every step. His hair was in that slightly messy, deliberate way, like he had just run a hand through it.His jaw looked carved from something expensive. His sleeveless black top clung to him like it had a personal crush on him.He looked like someone sculpted trouble out of a man and then taught him how to smirk.I hated how much my breath got stuck in my chest. He stared at me for a moment and I swear my heart stuttered. He broke the silence first. “Hmm. I see you’re stressing my son.”My son. Those two words hit me weird.Like my stomach didn’t know whether to d

George's POV I pulled the car into the parking lot and let the engine settle into silence. For a moment, neither of us moved. Dad and I simply sat there, side by side, staring at the name engraved across the hospital’s white façade.Dad exhaled slowly. “Are you sure this is the right hospital? The one her daughter is supposedly admitted to?”“Yes, Dad.” I nodded, trying not to look as uneasy as I felt. “This is the place.” I straightened a little, trying to mask any hint of tension. I didn’t want him catching on to anything. Not today.“Why can’t I just call Samantha to confirm?” he asked, wiping an invisible speck off his shirt. “You know how much I hate unnecessary embarrassment...especially from a low-class establishment.”I forced a light chuckle. “Come on, Dad. Just surprise her. Women love the whole unannounced, emotional gesture. Arriving with flowers will score you points.”He froze. “Flowers?” His brows arched sharply. “Please tell me you didn’t actually bring flowers.”I s
