Chapter 64

Jodie checked her outfit one more time before her date with Brian.

She smoothed out her dress and adjusted her necklace as she checked her reflection in the mirror before heading out the door.

She felt a flutter of nerves in her stomach even though she had no intention of taking this farther than the first date.

Maybe the fact that she had to reject him was what made her nervous.

Jodie walked to the restaurant where she had agreed to meet Brian, she tried to push the thought of rejecting him out of her mind. She didn't want to lead him on, but she also didn't want to ruin the evening by bringing up the subject too soon.

When she arrived at the restaurant, she spotted Brian sitting at a table. "Hey, Brian."

He looked up and smiled. "Jodie! You look great."

Jodie smiled back, feeling a bit more relaxed now that she was actually on the date. "Thanks, so do you," she replied.

Jodie ordered herself a drink. She might as well put some alcohol in her body to calm her nerves.
