Chapter 66

“I was serious about you going to the doctor,” Phil said before leaving for the airport.

Jodie pressed against him and smiled. “I know.”

“Then you'll go?” Phil urged.

“Maybe.” Jodie batted her eyelashes.

“Jodie!” Phil growled.

“Alright, alright, jeez. I'll go to the doctor. Now please get going before you miss your flight,” Jodie said.

Phil stared at her for a moment then leaned forward to kiss Jodie, surprising her.

“Take care of yourself,” he whispered against her lips.

“I will,” Jodie replied, feeling a warmth spread through her chest.

Phil pulled away, grabbing his suitcase and heading out the door. Jodie watched him go, feeling a tightness in her chest.

She made a mental note to schedule that doctor's appointment as soon as possible. Phil was right, it was time to take her health seriously. She was planning on becoming a doctor herself so it didn’t make sense to neglect her own health.
