This can't be real.

Moss had arrived right on time this morning, in full Academy uniform, looking better than any male had a right to, and, not for the first time, she wondered how she had such a hot best friend. Saying goodbye to her parents was a blur, and Ruby couldn't remember much about the drive there, beyond the fact that she was flipping terrified.

Driving to the outskirts of town and parking in the car park was when the real panic set in.

"I don't think I can do this," Ruby whispered, and Moss quickly took her hand. " It's all going to be okay, I promise," and a calmness started to seep into her bones. "You deserve the best in life, my friend, and I'm here to make sure that happens."

Once they were out of the car, Ruby went to the boot to gather the large suitcases she would need to lug to the dorm she was put in, but sensing what she was doing, Moss grabbed her hands. " It's a private school for a reason, honey, we have people to do the mundane things while we grow our big brains bigger."

Out of nowhere, a young man approached them and took Moss's keys. Ruby smothered a laugh as he executed a half bow to Moss before heading to the boot to grab Ruby's luggage.

"What on earth?"

Moss seemed a bit disgruntled but shook it off, reaching for her hand again as they headed toward the huge pylons, topped with fierce-looking griffins, that seemed to stare down, taking stock of everyone passing through. The entrance to Allied Elite Academy was as daunting as Freddy Krugar had been in her youth, and Ruby still couldn't watch those movies alone. Most likely, Freddy would now be replaced by those statues in her nightmares.

Just before they got to the gates, a heady smell of cedar wood and rain overcame all of Ruby's senses, drowning her in the delicious aromas until she felt disoriented and befuddled. Moss growled once, a deep, primal sound that made all the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. His face seemed to blur before Ruby's eyes, morphing into something else as he glanced behind them. The smell instantly disappeared.

There seemed to be an almost impenetrable bubble around them as they inched closer to the entrance. People were shoving and grabbing at others as they met up with friends amid the heavy bustle of the first day back after the weekend.

" These are the day students," Moss murmured in her ear, "Full-time Elites stay on campus until the weekend, some of us don't even bother leaving at all, there's always something going on here anyway."

The air around them suddenly heated up, like the full sun at noon, although it was only 8:30am, and everybody around them turned into the most gorgeous beings to have ever walked the Earth. What on earth was going on? Ruby was mortified at the sensual images playing out in her head, beings of all different fantasies she had ever had were engaging in an almost orgy right in front of her, and her insides were heating so rapidly with arousal she worried that she would start dry humping Moss at any second. He seemed to be completely oblivious until he looked down at her.

Moss was trying to talk to her, but Ruby could no longer hear him; she was well past being aroused and rapidly entering a full sexual meltdown just outside the gates. Ruby could feel the panic clawing at her, and she felt powerless to stop whatever came next. Moss pulled her to him, wrapping his arms around her tightly. He was looking over Ruby's shoulder at the air, seeming to be having some internal dialogue. Whatever he was doing, it worked; the heat left as quickly as it came.

"Sorry about the craziness," he murmured, gently letting her go. "Weird things happen all the time around here; after a while, you just tune it out."

Ruby was lost for words.

They were passing through the gates at last, an ominous tolling of the bells signaling their arrival, and Ruby felt the weight of a thousand eyes on her as she walked beside Moss. Thankfully, everyone was fully clothed and not pawing at each other. The feeling of being watched was still there, but Ruby put it down to not enough sleep and too much creative imagination. She walked with purpose, head held high, and could have sworn she heard, "That's my girl." Yet nobody was there.

  • Alliance Elite Academy   Colours and Magic

The forest spread around the entire academy, and within its lush camouflage stood a man with green hair and a beard; he wore his shoes on the wrong feet and his clothes backward. The other creatures lived around him and called the man the Leshy. He was the lord of the forest and could shift to the size of the tallest tree in his guardianship or the smallest blade of grass on the forest floor. He was the protector of all the magical creatures calling the forest home. As he ruled over his kingdom, he also liked to play tricks. When Academy students from other factions ventured into his forest, he enjoyed playing tricks on them, changing the scenery and turning them around until they were horribly lost. Of course, he let them find their way out eventually, after he stopped laughing. He had elderly Moosleute, or moss folk, assigned to every tree in his kingdom who looked after them and acted as guides; their humanity and calm nature kept the atmosphere peaceful so the students slept seren

  • Alliance Elite Academy   Lets have some fun.

It took Ruby a few more times to accept that her human world was a lie. And that her best friend was magic in physical form. The hellhounds behaved like excited puppies, even in their true form, and chased their tails to garner a laugh from their favorite person."Do it again." Like a kid in a candy shop, Ruby clapped her hands as Mossimus walked through the air, his feet walking up imaginary steps as he touched the ceiling and came back down. "Show me something else. Is everyone here magic? Why am I here? DO I have magic?" So many questions as Ruby searched through a world so recently opened to her. She raced to her window and looked outside. Instead of the quiet atmosphere she'd walked into, there were students EVERYWHERE.The huge Elm tree at the edge of the courtyard held houses the size of Ruby's hand, and fairies flitted from branch to branch in a city all their own. Excitement swirled in every cell of her body, and when Moss sat down on the couch again, she had one thing to say

  • Alliance Elite Academy   Ruby on fire

When she woke, Ruby felt confused for a millisecond as she looked around, realizing she was waking up in her own bed. Her mind was strangely fuzzy, and every time she tried to focus, the fuzziness seemed to worsen. Her mind wanted to remember something important, but it was hidden away somewhere too deep for her to chase it.The blanket over her was a deep red and pulsed with warmth, making her sleepy all over again, so she pushed it off and got out of bed. Her weight landed on a roly-poly pile of skin, and Ruby tripped, landing butt-first on the shag-pile carpet with a yelp, her gaze fixing on two gorgeous little puppies looking at her with their strange coloured eyes. They were surprisingly heavy as Ruby picked them up, one under each arm, and walked into the lounge.Moss looked up from the magazine he was reading, and for a split second he looked horrified at the puppies, but quickly schooled his features into a blank mask and smiled as he stood."What are their names?" She cooed,

  • Alliance Elite Academy   Introducing Filamina

I failed. Now, as I waited in my room, I went back over things to see where it all went wrong. It should have been easy to snatch the human girl. It was her first period at the Academy; she didn't have her mate's powers yet. Mossimus was distracted, so how could it have gone so wrong? Granted, I didn't think that the hulk of a dragon shifter would hurl himself through the window with Ruby over his shoulder like a caveman — crazy son of a bitch. And then the other three hunted me while Mossimus threw his magic every which way but Sunday. I was almost pulverized by an enemy-seeking, non-student death ray before I managed to escape the room. It was absolute anarchy, and scary as all hell trying to sneak back to my room and regroup. Not that my master would accept that. The only ace in the hole I had was the foresight to enroll in the Academy last year, which built my story and cemented my identity, so I had the element of surprise on my side when Ruby turned eighteen, and the prophecy beg

  • Alliance Elite Academy   Beauty has her way

The bond was begging Caleb to complete it, and going against any sexual desire was physically painful for the incubus prince. He couldn't remember any of the objections he had about claiming and sharing his Queen right now; in his arms, she was perfect."Show some self-respect, you flying nut sack, and bring her home!"Three voices echoed in his head, and Caleb resisted the urge to send them all to hell as he navigated the winds to bring Ruby home safely.Instead of bringing her back to her own place where the others were, he took Ruby to his apartment. It was well protected with enough sigils and incantations to keep out demons from the darkest pits of Hell, so he was confident Ruby could sleep safely and undisturbed. Caleb spelled the blanket he tucked over her on the couch to keep her warm, and commanded Aberus to lie on the ground beside Ruby and guard her with his life. Of the two hellhounds who lived with Caleb, Aberus was the one he entrusted with his most precious gifts. The

Niamh couldn't help but go slack-jawed as Ruby came back out to the car, carrying damn near her entire closet. She smiled as the boot popped open; Ruby shoved her gear in and closed it, then opened the car door again. "Do you want to get out of town for the day? I know a nice hiking trail just outside of town, and the pond at the bottom of the waterfall is beautiful for swimming. Damn, I should have asked: can you swim?"Niamh cracked the loudest laugh she could, smiling at a private joke before she answered, "I can swim like a fish, and I know the place you're talking about; it's Siren Springs, and today would be perfect for a swim."Ruby nodded her head and flashed Niamh a grin of approval as she buckled her seatbelt. "Let's go!" And before she knew it, she was singing along to Candy Shop on her way to the perfect day with a new friend.2.It was breathtaking, and Ruby felt a sense of déjà vu as she hopped out of the car, having taken off her shoes as soon as she could. The greenery
