I really don't want people to get hurt because of me, so as soon as possible I distance myself from other people. Dave and I are currently stuck in a situation where he can't get away from me because no matter which way I go, he goes the same way.

"What if you're tired of me?" I averted my eyes from him to ask that question. I swallowed hard because of the tension I felt between the two of us.

When I think of him leaving me, I have a heavy feeling. I don't know what that means, and I have no idea what kind of feeling that is.
