Harry’s POV

She stood at the top of the cliff looking down.

I rushed forward and tried to stop her, but it was too late.

She was falling.

I screamed and sprinted toward the edge of the cliff.

“Violet!”

She looked back, eyes wide, lips parted in a silent scream.

“Help me Mate” she screamed, her eyes filled with terror.

I reached out. My fingers stretched so close I could almost feel her skin. But she slipped.

Over the edge.

Gone.

I shouted until my throat ripped open.

Then silence.

I woke with a jolt, gasping for air. My chest squeezed so tight, and my heart pounding so hard it rattled my ribs.

Everywhere was dark, so I fumbled for the bed lamp and switched it on.

Chloe shifted beside me, her body curled into the blanket, her face was turned away from mine, and she was fast asleep.

I stared at her sleeping form, her breathing giving me some semblance of control and comfort.

A little smile appeared on my lips.

Somehow, this little wolf has come to mean so much to me even though she

  • Alora: My Hybrid Luna   CHAPTER 115: When the Jaguars Came

Morgan's POVWe had just gotten home from the hospital. Alora was exhausted and had slept off in the car on our way home. She looked exhausted and drained.I didn't know what it felt like to lose a patient since I was not a doctor, but I knew what it felt like to lose someone for the first time. To take a life and to lose a life. The experience tends to take a part of you with it. I knew what she was feeling, and I knew it would take a lot more to forget what had happened. As soon as we arrived at the pack, Jones was waiting outside for us, and so was Harry. I reached out and tugged the sleeping Alora to me, trying to be as noiseless as possible so she didn't wake up. I took the stairs two at a time until I got to my room.I deposited her on my bed and went in to freshen up.On getting back to the room, I heard a commotion outside before Harry’s voice came through the mindlink.“Alpha, we’re under attack. Few of the pack members have been captured.”I froze. My eyes suddenly turn

  • Alora: My Hybrid Luna   CHAPTER 114: Patient Obsession

Xavier’s POVI was in a meeting when I was informed that Violet had lost her baby.I’d come straight from the meeting room, still in my suit, my tie loose from running to the car. I was about to barge into the room when the nurse on duty approached me cautiously. “I’m sorry, Mr Xavier, but your wife is sleeping. She had been hysterical all day, and we had only just succeeded in calming her down”. The nurse’s voice was soft, almost apologetic.“I still need to see her,” I replied, pushing past her and barging into the room.I stood there and watched her chest rise and fall in a peaceful rhythm. My heart went out to her. I sank into the bed beside her, my hands tugging at my tie.I’d loved Violet for as long as I could remember. She has always been special to me, even when I was the gamma in the Bloodfang pack. They said she’d lost the baby.To everyone else, that news was a tragedy. A wound to be mourned. But inside me… there was something else. Not joy. Not exactly.Relief.Yes

  • Alora: My Hybrid Luna   CHAPTER 113: I Failed

Trigger Warning: This chapter contains emotionally intense scenes involving medical emergencies and grief. Reader discretion is advised.Alora’s POVThe moment the word left her lips, I snapped into motion.I knew she wouldn't have the strength to push the pup because she had lost too much blood already. “Prep her for an emergency C-section,” I told the nurse, my voice sharper than I intended. Double-check vitals. We’re racing the clock.”The head doctor nodded, instructing the nurses on what to do. My eyes were fixed on Violet. Her breathing was ragged, shallow, and labored. The faint unsteady rhythm of the pup was like a drum in my ears even when I knew nobody heard him except the mother. “Alora. Stop. This life is not yours to keep.” Nyx voice echoed again in my mind.I froze, my hands shaking uncontrollably. “Nyx please… I need to do this” I replied, closing my eyes and trying to concentrate even though I felt dread wash over me. I wasn’t going to stand there and watch Morga

  • Alora: My Hybrid Luna   CHAPTER 112: Room 312

Alora's POVIt was my turn to go down to Valemount Private Medical for our routine checks. It has been liberating and fun going down there on my shaft days, and somehow, each time I went there, I learnt one of two things about the medical field.Today was maternity day, and Nyx was excited to lend a hand to mothers having a difficult birth and hard labors because our presence in the room always seems to make the journey easier for them, especially first-time moms.As I entered my office that day, there were files with special cases waiting for me to attend to in their order of urgency. I picked up the first one and flipped through, not really paying attention to the name. I changed into my scrubs, took my equipment, and left the room. I was halfway down the maternity corridor, flipping through the chart, when I felt a stabbing ache low in my abdomen. I winced in pain and my hands reached out to grab my stomach.Just as it came, it was gone. I froze mid-step, trying to recall what

  • Alora: My Hybrid Luna   CHAPTER 111 : Cold Eyes

Violet’s POVThe water kept rising. It wasn’t a lake or an ocean, it was the parking lot of my old high school, the exact same spot where I had met Morgan for the first time.I was inside his customized Toyota Hilux, but I was there alone, tied to the front seat, unable to get out. There was water everywhere. It was getting higher and higher. I screamed for help, but nobody heard me. Everywhere was locked.“Help, help, help” I screamed until I lost my voice. The water had gone up to my throat, and I was trying to keep my head afloat, trying not to drink too much murky water while gasping for breath. All of a sudden, I was able to move. I ran to the door, but it was tightly locked. I hit the door with all my strength, but my strength was fading away. I floated to the back, trying for the boot. There was a little opening, but as soon as I saw the opening, a phone began to ring in the driver's seat.I waded toward the sound, taking in water as I gasped for air. The water was now in

Harry’s POVA few hours later, I was at the hospital.Carrick was waiting at the entrance for me.“What’s the report right now”? I asked, steeping in with him.“Why are you here”?“Alpha Morgan sent me. I am here to check on the progress of Violet and the pup. He is worried.”I gritted his teeth and nodded. We got into the elevator and went up to the third floor.Carrick led me to her room.I stood there and watched her lying helpless with lots of tubes poking out of her.She looked smaller than I remembered. Pale against the white sheets. One side of her face was swollen, and scraped. Her arms were wrapped in a cast.“Violet” I calledShe turned her head and stared at me.“Harry,” she whispered. The sound of my name in her mouth was enough to make my chest ache. But I didn’t get closer.“I came as soon as I heard,” I said, my voice quiet and rough. Her eyes filled. Instantly.“Why? I didn’t think you’d come,” she murmured, her voice trembling. “After everything I did…”“You’re still
