Aedon Walia

“Mine. You are mine, Alena Ramos” Aedon panted, as his breath fans Alena's neck where the newly acquired mark was. His tongue shootout to lick the mark dried, smiling in the process.

Aedon shot up with a start, thick sweat perch down his brows. His hands immediately went to the bed as he swipes up a handful of cum into his hand. No! Not again! He screamed.

Aedon stood up from the bed as he paced to and fro his enormous room with a king-sized bed, a symbol of the moon was engraved on the head. The bed has been in his family even before he was born. 

He turned to stare out of the mountain, his body willing him to go for a run but he was damned tired from his sexual exercise. Who was the girl that invaded his dreams with her sexual moans? He needed to find her especially since he had called her his mate.

For twenty-eight years he has waited for her, he hasn't known any woman because he wanted what his parents had with his woman, only his which will be his mate.

Aedon groaned annoyed with himself for still hasn't found a solution to his lack of a mate. He hopes his beta who he has sent to look for her will bring him the good news. 

This wasn't the first time he was having sex with her in the dream but this was the first time he had saw her face clearly and she even told him her name. 

“Alena” Aedon called the name slowly, tasting it in his tongue with a smile on his handsome face. He was already in love with her even before he could meet her.

Aedon strolled into the bathroom to shower and get ready for the meeting which he had called concerning his lack of a mate. He walked back into the room to see his younger sister gazing up at him with a knavish smile on her lips.

Aedon knows that look, he pretended not to see her while wondering what she was after again. His sister was the opposite of him, everything he likes, she hates. Sometimes, he often wondered if they were both from the same parents.

“Hello! Big brother” Milena called slowly at her brother, battling her puppy eyes at him. She hopes he will agree with her request this time around.

Aedon rolled his eyes inward, he knew what she was trying to do but he wasn't in the mood for her games this morning “ What do you want Milena?” Aedon asked her as he walked out of the dressing room fully dressed in his official regalia and a tiny golden crown on his head.

His sister bowed slowly at him before turning to smile at him“ You're so handsome big brother” She complimented him, with a tiny swipe of her eyebrows.

“If you could permit me the use of the portal, I'll need to go to the other world,” Milena said, bracing herself for his response. She knows Aedon doesn't allow one to cross the portal to the other world but there was someone there that she had to meet.

Aedon froze as his eyes hardened, he turned to glare at Milena who had coward in front of him. Even though they were both alphas, her brother was still superior.

“ I thought I forbid you from going over to that side” Aedon growled at her causing Milena to stifle back a scoff.

“I know but there's this guy that I have to meet. And Bryan said there's a possibility that he might be my mate” Milena countered back, she refused to back down. Though she had lied about the mate thing that was the only way she could get Aedon to grant her access to the other world.

Aedon frowned, he was caught in a crossroad. He couldn't possibly refuse his sister the chance of meeting her mate even though there might be a chance of him being human.

“But there are no other of our kinds in the other world except the humans and you know how much I despise them,” Aedon said as he raked his hands through his short black hair in frustration.

Milena's face saddened as she turned to walk out of the room, there was no winning against her brother since the humans were involved. She had just wanted to explore the other species and learn about their lifestyle but her brother hated them so much...

Aedon watched Milena walk out of his chamber with a dejected look on her face. He was tempted to call her back but he wasn't going to change his decision, the portal stayed locked and that's final.

Aedon walked out of the room with a renewed confidence and took the stairs to his study where the meeting was to take place. His servants bowed to greet him on their way to their various duties; only two guards followed him closely. 

He opened the door to the study and walked in causing the people in the room to stand up bowing slightly in greetings. Aedon nodded to them and took his seat at the head of the table.

“ Tell me, Bryan. Any news about finding my mate?” Aedon turned to his beta who was seated by his right hand. They had been friends from the onset and he trusted him with his life.

“None yet” Bryan answered, he was afraid for his friend especially when he heard the news from the sorcerer.

“Why? Did you check all over the kingdom? Even to the neighboring Vampire kingdoms” Aedon questioned with a fit of anger causing his loud voice to bellow across the room. His subject board in submission as he was using his alpha voice on them.

Aedon tried to calm down, ever seen waking up this morning his wolf has been on edge to find her especially after seeing her face and knowing her name. 

But now with the news that no one could find his mate, he's beginning to question his sanity. Is he only in love with a fictitious woman? Or does his mate only reside in the dreamland? No, the moon goddess couldn't be so cruel as to do that to him.

“But I think Aria has something to tell you” Bryan gestured to the woman who was standing at the far corner of the room. She was in a white robe with a cape which covered her face from the view of everyone in the room. Rumour has it that she was the only surviving descendant of the witch clan, no one could see her face except the king.

Aedon turned to look at the woman which Bryan was pointing to, he nodded to her to speak as he was excited to hear the news about his mate.

“ I have consulted the gods on your behalf, your majesty,” Aria said, her eyes looking afar off in the distance. Aedon could still remember the first time he saw her.  He was surprised that it was a beautiful woman behind the mask.

Though Aria loved her job as the last guidance of the world, she was the middle man between the living and the dead. Aedon goes to her anytime he's lost and wants to communicate with his father.

Aedon came out of his thoughts as Aria's word dawned on him“ What did you say?” He asked, shooting up from his seat with his eyes blazing gold. His wolf was on the edge of taking over after hearing that his mate might be dead.

“Do you mean that she might be dead?” Aedon asked her with a shaking voice as he struggled to bring calmness to himself and his wolf.

“I'm sorry your majesty but I suggest you let go of it for now. I'm sure the moon goddess in her infinite mercy will grant you another mate who is living” Aria said, she walked closer to him and tapped him gently on the shoulder before walking out of the door.

Aedon slumped down on the couch, a little breathless and frustrated with his life and everything. He couldn't believe that after all these years, he felt he was finally going to hold her in his arms only to discover that she was dead.

Aedon's face hardened immediately he remembered that he was still the king. That was the only thing he had ever wanted in his life apart from his mate and he still has that, he's going to make sure that nobody will take that from him.

“Any news on the rouges which have been spotted on our border?” Aedon said as he turned to Bryan who looked shocked. Aedon guessed Bryan had expected him to go back to his chamber to sulk all day but here Aedon was performing his duties.

“I__ Aedon I can understand if you will like a day off after what we've just heard. Milena and I could handle the kingdom's duties” Bryan said trying to persuade 

Aedon to take a rest but he wasn't going to do any of that. He was strong and he had his people to protect. He was their king!!!

“ Just answer the damned question, Bri” Aedon swore at him with venom in his voice. Aedon hated it when Bryan tried to talk to him like he was a kid. He wasn't any of that, he could take care of himself.

“I__ I ___ I will send for Milena, she should be able to tell us more about it” Bryan stuttered slowly as he turned to mind link Milena. Aedon was guilty of shouting at him but he asked for it.

Sometimes later, Milena strolled into the study dressed in hunting attire and a sword which was fully sheathed into her belt. Bryan and her exchanged a look, probably because Bryan was trying to warn her of Aedon's temper.

Aedon pretended not to see them as he waited for them to finish gossiping about him. Milena turned to stare at him before clearing her throat. Her lipstick was a bit smudge and her hair was scattered, Aedon rolled his eyes inward. 

Milena could never change, he was sure that she was making out with one of the servants before Bryan mind linked her. Aedon wishes he was like her, he wishes he could sleep with anyone without feeling guilty. Aedon pushed that thought out of his head as soon as he felt the familiar pain coming back. Aedon was stronger than this...

“So tell me, Milena, any news about the rogues?” Aedon asked her with his arms folded across his chest.

“None yet your majesty. We searched around the surrounding borders but no one could ascertain who they were or where they went” Milena replied as Aedon nodded.

“ We need to find something to do about that quickly, I can't have my people being worried about some weak rouges,” Aedon told the both of them, they both nodded. 

“Okay, are there any pressing issues we need to talk about?” Aedon turned to Bryan to ask him who nodded.

“Yes, about the interview with the Walia's Architectural Firms. It was postponed, when do you think you'll be able to conduct it or should we have another do it?” Bryan asked Aedon. He has almost forgotten that he has a company in the other world. 

Though Aedon has always hated humans that was why he built the firm. He wanted to use them as a slave for him but later changed his mind and employed only people from his kingdom. He made Bryan the managing Director since Bryan was mated to a human. Aedon didn't allow him to bring her to his kingdom but rather Bryan was allowed to go see her...

“Can I also work in your firm?” Milena's voice pulled Aedon out of his thoughts as he turned to glare at her. Of course, he knew she wasn't interested in the firm but only the right to the portal which Aedon wasn't going to give her.

“ So that you could go sleep with all of the stupid humans. No, thank you” Aedon told her with an angry look on his face before he stood up to go for a run. Aedon needed to think about what to do next. He was on the verge of losing his throne. He didn't know why his dad had to make that stupid rule.

Immediately Aedon stepped out of the study, he ran out of the castle into the mountains fully changing into his big black wolf. He growled loudly into the mountains which were filled with pain and longing. Mourning his mate which he never got to meet.
