Into The Cave

The sunlight pouring through the window blind woke Alena up the next morning as she stood up stretching slowly. It's been a while since she last slept soundly as most of her night has been busy with a certain man making love to her. Alena rushed out of the bed as soon as she remembered that she wanted to explore the cave before Max would wake up and stop her again.

She tiptoed down the squeaky stairs, after she had changed out of her sleepwear. She was a bit disappointed that she didn't see Aedon in her dream, she wanted to meet him but decided against it as she doesn't know how to search for him.

Alena rushly took the route leading to the forest where she had last seen the cave, she was thankful that her dad was not yet awake to stop her either.  She passed through the fountain and was tempted as usual to take a dip but the thought of the cave pulled her out of it.

Alena finally got to the entrance of the cave after trekking for some minutes. It seems the stone used to cover the entrance was rolled over. Alena breathes in slowly before taking the first step and bending slightly as she finds herself fully entering the cave.

The floor of the cave was slippery like it just rained causing Alena to fall, she screamed but no one could hear her before she could try to stand on her feet, she felt the cave moving from the ground and traveling to another continent entirely.

Alena was too shocked to scream. She glanced all around the cave for a means of escape from this plane like cave but to no avail. She finally succumbed to fate and watched it take her to where it wanted to.

She had been travelling for thirty minutes when the cave finally came to a stop. Alena scrambled out of the cave with her hair scattered all over the place, she was thankful to be back at home but little did she know that she was not anywhere around home.

Alena took in the clear mountain around her and the vast island surrounded by tiny houses, she was in awe. She walked with her mouth opened as she took in the beautiful scenery.

“Wow!! Where is this place?” Alena exclaimed excitedly. She couldn't wait to share her findings with Layla.  She was about to take a step to the castle which was across from her when she heard the heavy footsteps of something running to meet her.

Alena turned slowly to take in numerous wolves running to meet her and was being led by a big brown wolf. Alena stood frozen at the spot confused and shocked about what to do.

They were drawing near to her as she forced her legs which were rooted at a spot to start running.  She  turned to run screaming for help as the wolves chased her around the mountain. Alena was scared, she was afraid that she was going to die just like that without achieving her dreams of becoming an architect at the Walia's Architectural Firm.

She ran and came to a stop when her body hit a large rock in front of her as she wasn't looking but rather was looking back to see if the wolves were closing up on her. Alena was expecting to feel pain on her upper body but rather nothing. She removed her body from the rock and looked up slowly into a pair of brown eyes staring curiously at her.

Alena gasped as she was shocked to see a fellow human in this part of the world. She was excited that she started laughing.

“May I ask what is funny Miss? ” Aedon growled at the woman in front of him. He was expecting a rouge when his beta has mind linked him not a fucking beautiful woman who doesn't seem to have a bit of flesh on her skin.

“I'm sorry, I'm just happy that I'm not the only one lost in this wood. How did you get here? I was taken here by a cave, can you believe it, I mean I didn't even knew such a thing existed and______”

“Save your breath Miss. I don't want to know where you come from but what I would like to know is what are you doing in my kingdom? Did my uncle send you to spy on me?” Aedon asked her as he raked his hands through his hair in frustration. He never believed his uncle could stoop so low as to send someone to spy on him.

But what kind is she? Aedon asked himself surprise as he sniffed the air around her. She doesn't smell like someone from around here.

Alena glared at him, anger fuming out of her eyes. She wanted to wipe the bored expression from his face with her punch but unfortunately she doesn't know how. That kind of thing belongs to Layla, she's really skilled at it.

“That's what I've been trying to tell you,” Alena replied, forcing herself to smile, masking the anger in her voice as this man in front of her was the only ticket for her to get out of here alive from the wolves.

Speaking of  wolves, Alena turned back slowly to search for the wolves with fear in her eyes but she couldn't find them. Rather she was greeted by men in weird clothing like the one her saviour was putting on and a young woman in front of them who was staring up at her with a smirk.

“Where did they go?” Alena turned to the man who seems like he should be somewhere else instead of conversing with her.

“Where did what go?” Aedon asked her with a bored expression on his face as he pretended not to know what she was asking him. He has mind linked his sister to change back while he kept her preoccupied when he sensed that she wasn't one of them which left him with the choice that she was sent by his uncle to spy on him.

“I mean the wolves, they were just there earlier. Didn't you see them?” Alena pursed briefly as she turned back to stare at the people looking at her curiously. Was she hallucinating the wolves just now? Did she dream it up just as she had imagined the cave moving earlier? Alena asked herself with shock on her face. She couldn't believe that a lot of things were happening to her today. She wished she never got Into the cave in the first place.

“No, don't worry. How did you find yourself here, where you also lost?” Alena asked the man who had started walking back to the palace while Alena tried to fall in step with him.

Aedon ignored her. He was fuming in annoyance, he wanted to behead her immediately but he needed to speak with his uncle first. He couldn't wait to get back to his study and unleashed his anger on his uncle. He still has until two months before the new contract will be in effect, why is he sending someone now to spy on him?

“Where you banished from your land. Is that why you don't want to talk to me?” Alena asked him, biting her lips slightly. She didn't know why he doesn't want to speak to her. She reached out to touch him gently on his arms causing him to growled, his eyes blazing brown.

“Don't you dare touch me again, woman?” Aedon growled at her. He watched her coward in front of him causing a smile to appear on his face. I see she recognised the alpha in me. Aedon thought to himself as he turned to walk back to the castle.

“I was thinking________”

“Not another word from you else I will banish you from the surface of the earth if you test my patient again” Aedon turned and walked into the study after signaling for Bryan to follow him while closing the door loudly on her face.

Alena jumped in surprise as she swore under her breath“ Son of a bitch!” Alena cursed as she glared at the closed door.

“Now what?” Alena called to no one in particular. She turned to stare at the lady who couldn't stop looking at her. She was beautiful with black long hair and a tiny golden crown on her head. She looks very much like the rude man. Are they family? Alena asked herself as she forced her eyes away from the lady in front of her.

She took in the heavily decorated hallway and gasped out at the design on the wall. It was the same design she had seen on Walia's wall when she had gone to submit her application.

“Oh! I see, Mr. Stonecold and I have the same taste in designs” Alena smiled excitedly. She gasped as soon as she saw the wall shone from the tiny sunlight which had escaped through the closed door.

“Surely, this isn't gold right?” Alena asked herself shocked. She never really seen real gold before but has read about them that they were seldom used to build houses. Just how rich is Mr. Stonecold, Alena wondered to herself.

Alena turned back to stare at the closed door as her mind was in turmoil. She didn't know where she was and who the man from earlier was but he does look familiar like she has seen him before.

“You look quite interesting in that outfit” The smiker of a lady pointed out at her. Alena turned to stare at her surprised.

“So, she does talk,”  Alena mumbles to herself. She turned to look at the lady plastering a smile on her face.

“Thank you” Alena smiled at her taking her words as a compliment “ Unfortunately, I can't say the same about you as you look” Alena let her eyes run down the lady taking in her funny clothing which she couldn't describe. It seems like she has just walked back in time during the 1700.

“Funny” Alena completed her sentence causing the lady to erupt in laughter. She grip her ribs to stop herself from falling.

“Wow!! That's the first time I've ever heard anyone refer to my official regalia as funny” Milena pointed out, she used her hands to wipe a lone tear from her eyes which was as a result of her laughter.

Alena was lost. She stood looking at the beautiful girl in front of her wondering what could have possibly made her to laugh. There was nothing funny in whatever she had said, she has merely stated the obvious. She was about to point that out to the lady when the door suddenly opened and the man from earlier stepped out frowning, his mouth curled up in anger as he struggled to contain it.

Alena has never been afraid as she was right now staring into the eyes of the man. She gulped nervously and lowered her eyes slowly wondering what she had done wrong to make him so angry.

“Who are you again?” Aedon asked her, fighting his wolf from coming out as he was more than annoyed. He has discovered that his uncle didn't send any spy to his kingdom. Then who was she and what was she doing in his kingdom. Until he ascertain who she was, he will have to be wary in front of her.

Alena mentally rolled her eyes at his foolish question. So now he finally decided to listen to me, Alena thought to herself.

“I did tell you earlier. I was lost and stumbled upon this place. I don't know if you'll believe me or not but the cave brought me here”  Alena explained slowly. She knew she might look insane to him right now but that was exactly what happened.

“A cave?” Aedon asked her, shocked , refusing to confirm what his mind was telling him. “ Where have you been before the supposed cave brought you here?” Aedon asked her sarcastically causing Alena to roll her eyes at him which wasn't lost on Aedon though he chose to ignore it.

“I________”

” You know what don't bother answering. I'm going to behead you by morning which will serve as a warning to others who ventured into my boundary unannounced and uninvited” Aedon announced, raking his hands through his head as he nodded to his beta to take her away. He wasn't in the mood to argue with a suspect and a woman who he was drawn to at that.

“But______” Alena screamed and was muffled as they led her away. She tried to get out of their grasp but they were stronger than her. They took her into a dark room and locked the door as Alena turned to slide down the wall scared for her life.

She missed her dad and grandma which she didn't even know if she will be seeing them again as she will be beheaded tomorrow. That man, he doesn't seem like he was lying, Alena thought to herself wondering what she could do to get herself out of this mess.

With the thought of her family on her mind and the sentence that awaited her the next morning, Alena succumbed to a troubled sleep on the cold floor.
