Liana:

“So, what are the rules again?” Ian asked, looking at us as if we were stupid.

The idea of dealing with all of this was not one that I wanted to process. The fact that they were teaching us to ensure that we were ready to satisfy the Alpha wasn’t something that I liked. I was furious, but I knew that I wouldn’t be able to change anything. Not this way.

“No talking back, no looking into the Alpha’s eyes unless aloud, no yelling, no screaming, and no to being rude.” We repeated, knowing not to stay quiet. We didn’t want him to have us going at it for another hour again.

“Exactly, and the last, but most important rule, NO MEN.” He said, and we all looked at one another for a moment as Elena walked toward us. We looked at her as she took Ian’s place, and though we stayed quiet, too scared to ask, we watched as the man walked out of the room for a moment, leaving us alone.

“No men?” I asked, and Elena nodded.

“They are here as servants of the harem, of the pack, and of the women of the pack. Meaning, they are not men.” Elena said, making us frown. We all looked at one another, and she smiled, chewing the inside of her mouth before pretending to cut something with her fingers as she pretended that they were scissors.

Our eyes widened, and we looked at one another before we laughed.

The men were castrated.

“I left for ONE minute and now all of you are unorganized again.” Ian said, walking toward us. I looked at Cecilia for a moment and we all laughed. Ian let out a low growl and we all went quiet as we tried to stop ourselves from laughing. “Since you chose to break the rules and disobey, let’s go again. Repeat the rules, let’s go…”

“I swear this day has been long enough as it is.” I said, looking at Cecilia as we had our dinner. “And the dinner here doesn’t seem to be getting any better.”

“Come on, Cecilia, you know that it is not bad.” She said, and I rolled my eyes.

“It lacks flavor. It needs something, you know…”

“I trust that you can do better?” Annalise asked, raising an amused eyebrow. The woman walked inside the harem as if she owned the world, and we looked at her for a moment before most of the girls who were in the room got up to walk toward her.

“Annalise, how was it? How was he? Was he gentle? Was he kind…?”

The woman was swarmed with questions, and I couldn’t help but find myself growing anxious as my body ached for a moment.

“He was heavenly, kind, and big.” She said, looking at us as if she was all mighty.

“If you were in his chamber, why not spend the night? I mean, if he was kind, why did he send you out after he was done?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at the woman. She looked at me as the girls muttered amongst themselves. But just as she was about to answer, Elena walked toward us and clapped her hands, stopping us.

“Clean up and ready yourselves for bed. Those who are going to shower, follow me, those who showered last night, change and get ready for bed. I don’t want to hear your voices.” Elena said, and she looked at me. I looked down at my feet, and she walked in front of us, watching as we stood in line.

“Now, for those who want to be lucky enough to find themselves entering the Alpha’s room, you are going to need to be good…”

“Why would we want to be in his room?” I asked, and she took a deep breath. She walked toward me and raised an eyebrow.

“You are testing your luck, aren’t you?” She asked, and I scoffed.

“Don’t mind her, she fainted the second she took sight of the Alpha. I can bet on everything that I have that she is more than hoping to be in his room, but then again, I…”

“You…”

“ENOUGH!” Elena yelled, stopping all of us. I looked down at my feet, avoiding the woman’s feet. Her eyes met mine and she nodded, dismissing the women before she wrapped her hand around my arm, pulling me to the distance.

“You’re hurting me.” I said, and she nodded, letting me go.

“It might teach you a lesson to be good,” she said, making me frown. “Listen, you need to be smart. If you want to get out of this slavery, if you want to become a Luna, you are going to need to drop the attitude. You are going to have to be smart, and use your beauty to your advantage.”

“If you can carry the Alpha’s child, and if you give him an heir, you are going to be able to become his Luna. And if it is a boy, and you are his favorite; you can forget all of this. Rather than being a slave, who is to serve, you will have your own serving you.” She said, keeping her eyes on mine. “Therefore, I suggest that you start thinking of what I said. And judging by your eyes, the way you speak, stand, and even move around; you are.”

“Now, go back and think of what I said, and I know that you are going to make the best out of it.” She said, and I nodded.

My eyes met Cecilia’s as I walked back toward my bed, and wanting to lay on it.

“What did she tell you, Liana?” Cecilia asked, and I shook my head.

“Nothing,” I said, shrugging. “She just told me to stay out of trouble. She dismissed me then…”

  • Alpha Aguilar   Chapter 22

Aguilar:I smiled as I saw my mate walking inside my room. Her eyes met mine from a distance, and I couldn’t help but find myself smiling as she looked down at her feet, following the rules that Elena most likely taught her.I walked toward her, and put my finger under her chin, making her look me in the eye. I leaned in, pressing my lips against hers, and she smiled. I pulled away to rest my forehead against her own.“I missed you,” I said, and she bit her bottom lip as she stopped her smile. I watched as she chewed the inside of her mouth, and it wasn’t until she looked up at me that I saw her blushing crimson.“I missed you too. I even found myself counting the minutes before I was to come here.” She said, making me smile as she ran her finger over my cheek. She let her finger linger there for a moment and it wasn’t until I leaned in, pressing my lips against hers, that I felt that my world was complete.I knew that she didn’t understand the concept of the mating bond, but I knew o

Liana:“He really asked for her again,” I heard the girls mutter. Some of them looked at me, others looked at one another. And I had to admit, t took everything in me not to respond as I kept Elena’s words in mind, knowing not to fall off them. At least, until I’ve managed to regain her trust.“She might have been right about Allison, he didn’t request for her again. He even kissed her cheek,” another said, looking at Allison. The woman’s eyes met mine and her anger, but she didn’t bother opening her mouth to speak.“You never mentioned how things went between you and the Alpha.” Cecilia said, catching my attention, “was he gentle? They say that he is not very kind sometimes, but he seems to be very sweet when it comes to you. Even you softened toward him. I saw it in your eyes.”“He was very kind,” I said, taking a bite of the rice that was on my plate. “I swear whoever cooks these meals needs to learn how to season them.”“Do you think that you can do better?” One of the girls asked

Aguilar:“When I don’t want someone in my room, I don’t expect to find them in my private chamber without asking them to be here.” I said, glaring at Ian who looked down at his feet. His heart raced against his ribcage, and I could tell that he was doing his best as not to flaunter with his words, wanting to find the right sentence to say as not to press on the mistake that he’s done more than he already has.“Alpha, it was the mother Luna’s order. She was the one who sent your Luna to your private chamber. I had no idea that she was not invited by you.” He said, and I took a deep breath before nodding. I knew how I was going to be handling this from here. If it was mother’s order, then Ian was not to be blamed. Not yet anyway…“You may leave,” I said, watching as the man walked out of the room. I waited for a few moments, giving him time to leave, before leaving my own room. She may be the mother of the pack, but her crossing me was the last thing that I was going to allow. Her or an

Liana:“But the Alpha has requested for me?” I asked, frowning at Ian.“The Alpha is with his woman, his Luna. You are going to be tending to your classes and after that, you are going to go to your new room.” He said, glaring at me. “Now stop being stubborn and tend to what you are told. I do not want to deal with your behavior for the day.”I looked at Elena whose eyes studied my expression. She waited for me to react, but I simply looked down at my feet and nodded. Something would be up, and if anyone knew, it would be her. However, I had to admit, this was not something that I liked. And the clench that I felt in my chest was not one that I found easy to deal with.“Why am I being taken to a new room? I don’t understand?” I asked, and Elena smiled as she put her hand on my shoulder.“You were good, smart, and it seems, after two days, that you caught the Alpha’s attention. While you are still going to be one of the concubines, but rather than being a slave that would be cleaning,

Aguilar:“Miriam, how are you?” I asked, looking at one of the women who stood in front of me, representing her father.“I am honored that you admitted me here. I must admit, after hearing a lot about you, I did not expect you to do so,” she said, watching as I nodded at her to take a seat.“While I am curious of what you heard, I have no reason not to accept you in my home. You came as your father’s representative, and Collin has always been an alley to me, Miriam.” I said, and she nodded. She sat in front of me, both Valdez and Ezio stood, keeping their eyes on her.“Father sent me here as he is ill. He has been for a long while and it is one of the reasons why he failed to attend your ceremony. He would have loved for that to happen, but you know, fate had different plans for him, and they just went a little too out of hand.” She said, and I nodded.“You always have been the political type.” She smiled. I nodded at the men to walk out, leaving the two of us alone. I knew that she w

  • Alpha Aguilar   Chapter 17

Liana:I woke up to the bedroom door opening, revealing a concubine whose eyes avoided mine.“Alpha Aguilar left the room.” I said, covering my body with the blanket.“You were requested by the mother Luna.” The maid said, making me frown.“What?” I asked, and she looked up at me.“Get up.” A headmistress, one older than Elena, said, glaring at me. “You heard the concubine; the mother Luna has requested for you to be in her chamber.”“I will get dressed and follow…”“You are to come now.” She said, stopping me.“I am not dressed.”“Then cover yourself with the blanket.” She said, and I took a deep breath. I held the sheets to my body and got up, careful not to expose my body. My eyes met the woman’s, and she forced me to look down at my feet. She walked ahead of me, and two concubines walked a step behind me, making sure that I didn’t run away. They knew that I would, and I had to admit, everything told me to just leave this hellhole that I was going to go to right now.“Stand,” the h
