“Swim with me.”

I had never thought Atlas capable of gentle emotions. Things like compassion, kindness, embarrassment, and even joy, seemed above him. Everything about him reminded me of a block of solid ice. From his genuinely disinterested expressions, to his pale skin and icy hair.

You could imagine my surprise when his pale cheeks reddened and those crystalized eyes widened. He ran a hand through his already messy hair, an action I realized was spurred on whenever he felt stressed, overwhelmed or surprised.

That flash of surprise and nervousness that crossed his gaze was quickly smothered, replaced by his usual cocky demeanor. His plush lips twitched into a smirk, and his eyes darted over towards Finn.

“Enjoy each moment together.” Was all Finn had said, “Danger comes, and there will be little time for these precious moments.”

Finn took his leave through the forest, back towards the shimmering smoke that spew
