Chapter eighteen - Cain

My father's door smashes with a satisfying crash, breaking in half with small fragments flying inside the room and instinctively he's up on his feet, ready to shift and fight off the intruder.

His eyes widen when he sees it's me, but the fear only increases and I'm glad he knows what to expect.

I waste no more time, launching myself at him and allowing Kade to shift in seconds in mid air.
