Cassandra’s point of view: I turned around on my back and watched the roof absentmindedly. It was nearing midnight and I was yet to fall asleep. Dalton’s point of view: Despite not having drifted to sleep until at least three o’clock in the morning, after hours of the most incredible sex of my life, I woke up at eight feeling better than I’d ever had. It took me a second to remember everything that had happened, but hearing Cassandra’s contended sigh, and feeling her long, slim leg slide between mine as she draped herself over me in her sleep, everything had come flooding back. I would love to stay this way, all tangled up, the sheets long gone, the warmth of our bodies was all we needed. But, I had somewhere to be, and had to get up. That meant I had to wake her up. Cassandra’s point of view: Sitting beside Millie, I watched Dalton and one of the best warriors fighting a duel to instruct some of the pack members who were still lacking in some way. In case you’re wondering, I was one of them too. Today, it was my first day getting trained along with the rest of the pack. This morning, Dalton had made sure that I’d accompany him everywhere he went during the day after having breakfast. Starting with his pack work, he made me sit on the couch in his office while he completed some last minute works regarding an alliance with the neighbouring packs which seemed downright peculiar to me.
