Julia's POV
I returned to my parents on a sunny afternoon with my luggages. When my mother spotted me from a distance, she rushed up to meet me.
“Julia, did he send you packing?” She asked with tension in her voice. She was curious as her eyes peered into mine. She had never for once loved the personality of Alpha Damien. She warned me to stay away from him and she also warned me about the heartbreak.
But I was adamant.
Before my mother, my lips started trembling as words failed me. Tears started flowing through my eyes. My mother was moved with compassion. She embraced me.
“I am sorry that he broke your heart. Let us go inside.” My mother helped with my luggages and I followed her in.
Just as I settled down, even though I was in despair. There was someone I haven't set my eyes on.
“Mummy, where is daddy?” I was forced to ask because my Dad would always follow my mother around.
But the face of my mother went pale in deep horror. As her eyes reddened... I peered into her face and I could read her expression.
“What… What… What happened mother?” I stuttered and forced those words out of my lips.
“I called you several times when your dad was sick to death. But you wouldn't pick my call. I worked very hard just to take care of your father but what could my hands do? I couldn't meet up with the bills and he later died. After his death, I called again. But you weren't available and I had to bury him.” She explained in detail while she cried painfully.
The pain I felt at that moment reaped my heart entirely and I felt very empty. “When did this happen?” I asked further. My eyes pour out tears endlessly.
“After a year that you left.” My mother responded with despair.
Then I flashed back to what happened and I couldn't help but blame myself that I was the cause of my father's death.
I was so engrossed in taking care of Alpha Damien and getting his love. I saw my mother's call but I just ignored it because I was busy with something much more important. I thought she wanted to scold me like she always thought.
I groaned and cried bitterly. My mother stood beside me and she went inside her room. A few moments later, she returned with a box in her hand.
“Julia, this is what he left behind. He said I should give it to you whenever you show up.” She explained and handed over the box.
With tears in my eyes, I collected it and cried heavily while I used the box to wipe my tears.
The day went by and it was evening. I laid on the bed in my room and stared at the only box my father left behind. My eyes had swollen due to the constant tears.
I moved towards the box and pulled it close. With breath puffing out of my nostrils, I decided to open it.
When I opened the box, I found a silver necklace and beneath it was a piece of paper.
I removed the silver necklace and placed it beside me before I opened the piece of paper.
‘Julia, my beautiful daughter, this paper contains some hidden secrets about our family that you were never told. You are my daughter and it is only right for me to let you know. The silver necklace is our family heirloom to remind us of the power we once wielded. Our ancestors once owned a pack named Dark Knight. It was a powerful pack and it attracted powerful enemies. Our ancestors fought hard and defeated them all until the rise of a fierce pack called Blood Night pack which defeated our pack and forced the pack to seize to exist claiming it's land and territories. Before our ancestors left the pack, they created a silver piece and put a lot of power in it to protect them as they escaped but they were later captured and killed. Only one person escaped and it was because of the silver piece. The person is a woman and she lived in Blood Night pack anonymously. And that's the same pack we are living in. You are not an Omega but I had to disguise you as one because you wielded a lot of power.’ The letter ended and I paused for a few seconds to think.
“This pack is Blood Night pack and it’s presently ruled by Alpha Damien. Does this mean?” As I mumbled to myself, I realized something more disturbing. Alpha Damien was actually my enemy all this while because he was from the lineage of those that killed my people and took their land leaving them with nothing and they have to live in secret.
‘No! This is not right. I must speak to my mother about this.’ I left my bed and rushed outside to meet my mother.
Her eyes fixed on me immediately as I walked into her room.
“Julia, it's late at night. What do you want?” She asked me.
“Mummy, I am sorry to bother you. But there is something I want to discuss with you.”
“Come closer.” She said and I came close. I sat on her bed.
“What do you want to discuss with me?” She asked me.
“Is it true that the Blood Night pack killed our people and took their lands?” I asked her.
She sighed. “it is true. And all our pack members aren't dead. Some were kept alive for torture.” My mother added.
I felt terribly bad. “This is not right, mummy. I must do something to stop the torture and reclaim our land.”
“You can't stop them, daughter. Until you discover who you truly are.”
Her words struck a chord in my head and I fastened my gaze on her, “is it true I am not an omega?” I asked her.
“It is true you are not an omega.” She replied slowly.
“Mummy, who am I?” I asked her and hoped she would just tell me. I was very curious
But she heightened her gaze, “I am not in the right place to tell you. You must discover who you are by yourself. There will be a ceremony tonight to celebrate the last moon of the year. Make sure you put on your necklace and visit the place. Be very careful because nobody must see you. There, you will know who you truly are.” She explained indepthly.
This was deeper than I thought and it made me even more curious than ever. I went to my room to look at the time and it was almost midnight.
‘Perfect timing. The ceremony will be going on now.’ I had to quickly put on the necklace and rush outside to visit the place of the event.
It took me several efforts before I finally reached there. And upon reaching there, the moon focused on me all of a sudden and all the crowd's attention was drawn to me.
‘What is happening to me?’ That was the last statement I made before I passed out.
Julia's POVShe was walking toward me with that same confident, slick strut. I intended to ignore her, but she blocked me every time I tried to turn away.I raised my gaze and glared at her. Her lips twitched as she folded her arms and stared past me, then brought her eyes back to mine."Did you think I didn’t see that? That you were talking to someone just now?"I met her gaze, unflinching. If Aurora thought she could scare me with her words again, she was about to be humiliated.I smiled. "Aurora, who exactly did you see?""A man," she spat, her lips curling.I laughed, and so did she, but hers carried venom."So you’re meeting a man in secret?" she continued, her voice thick with mockery. "I wonder how Damien would react if he knew the woman he calls his Luna was sneaking around behind his back."She gave another wicked laugh. "You wouldn’t just be kicked out. He would make sure you never come back.""Really?" I asked without blinking."What’s more ironic," I said, stepping closer,
JulianWhen I slowly opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was confusion flashing across his face. He raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Then he let out a short snort, trying and failing to mask whatever emotion was clawing at his chest. He leaned back slightly on the bed and dropped the towel onto the nightstand. That cold, untouchable Alpha act? He wore it like armor. But I could see through him. Beneath that mask was a man barely holding himself together.I shifted upright slowly. My wolf stirred within me, already trying to mend the damage from the fire, but the sharp pain in my throat still lingered. I winced and cleared my throat, not breaking eye contact with him.For a moment, neither of us spoke. The silence stretched between us, heavy with unspoken things. He sat across from me, and just for a second, I saw a flash of the Alpha I used to dream about. The one I once longed for. Then he leaned closer, his voice low and steady.“Whoever was behind this… they’ll pay. I swear it
Julian“Why is she still unconscious? Do something, anything! Does she need medicine? Blood? Herbs? Just make sure she wakes up!"The voice boomed like a storm through the haze in my mind.My eyelids fluttered, heavy as if someone had poured molten iron over them. Why did everything feel so... distant? My lungs burned. My body ached. Where am I?Even half-conscious, my body tensed instinctively at the sound of his voice. But this time, there was something else woven into it.Panic? Why was he worried?Out of the corner of my blurred vision, I caught sight of him, Alpha Damien towering over the trembling healer like a beast on the brink of snapping. One of them trembled under his furious gaze.“Please, calm down!" one healer tried to reason with him."Calm down?" Damien scoffed. "It's been over an hour, and she still hasn’t regained consciousness. And you’re telling me to calm down?”“She must have inhaled too much smoke. Her lungs appear slightly damaged,” another healer explained. “S
Julia’s POV Damien ignored Aurora like she was a passing itch. His fingers tightened around mine, warm but firm, and he led me toward a group of overdressed dignitaries who smelled like power and pine oil. I hated it. I hated the way my hand felt in his, like a prop, a token of status. I played along though, smiling, bowing, sipping from yet another glass of wine, but my mind wasn’t in the room.Aurora wouldn’t take this lying down. She never did. That girl had enough ego to power a city. She'd looked like she wanted to murder someone when Damien announced I’d be meeting the RegalWolf Pack with him. She didn’t speak to me, didn’t even glance in my direction after the scene, but I knew it wasn't over. The women were chatty, wanting to discuss the latest fashion trends, and how an Omega was able to marry a powerful Alpha. But I wasn't interested in the conversation, grossly irritated by their guts. Eventually, I slipped away. The ball was noisy—too many violins, too many forced lau
Julia's POV It would be better to leave Damien unsuspecting, Alpha Ambrose had advised me, but it was nearly impossible to keep all of this under my hat. I wanted to grab Damien by the face and break his neck. I wanted him to suffer! His ancestors were thieves and he had profited from the spoils of their wars all his life. It was about time it ended. After I met with Ambrose in the dark crypt, I wore my cloak around my head and snuck back to my chambers. Dinner had been served on the dining table in the corner of the room and the air was thick with the smell of scented candles. "Who are you?" The question flew out of my mouth, right after I spotted a tall redhead girl walking out of my bathroom. "Oh, your grace, you're back." She moved towards me and bowed. "I just finished drawing water for your bath. What kind of fragrance do you like? Flowers or spicy scents?" "Oh really," I scoffed and walked past her. "Did Damien instruct you to do this? And what is the meaning of all this? I
Julia’s pov.The darkness wasn't helping matters, I slept and wished for the light of the day, hoping to hear responses from Alpha Damien. He woke up the next day as he walked straight into my room with his hands across his back. “Good morning Julia, my Luna” he greeted, flashing a smile but all I discovered inside me at the moment was just hatred for an evil man like him. “Alpha Damien, we had a discussion yesterday, are you here to grant me my wish?” I asked. “Just to let you know how much I loved you, yes I want to grant your wish”He said and I was a bit shocked, the feelings of disbelief covered me. I smiled inside me but kept a mean face.He handed over half of his soldiers to me. I was happy at this moment knowing my steps towards accomplishing my mission had begun. A day passed by, and a rogue war happened, I experienced what I had never experienced in my life before. When the sun was up in the sky, alpha Damien heard a report that some strange wolves had killed four of
