LOGINVivica’s POV
I woke up to the sound of Crisy’s asking me to open the door, saying someone was waiting outside.
My eyes opened, slowly absorbing the faint light that filtered through the sheer curtains.
I got out of bed and went to the door. The moment II opened it, a woman pushed her way through, followed by a maid.
“You must be Vivica. The Alpha’s…mate?” The woman stated, a clear trail of disgust glinting on her face.
“Yes. I’m Vivica. How may I help you?”
She scoffed and muttered under her breath, “Help me? As if.”
“Well, Vivica, I’m Felicia. Alpha Adrian hired me to transform you. He doesn’t like what he is seeing so…” she trailed off, scanning me as if I’d been freshly picked out of a trash can.
“Adrian said that?” My voice came out low and devastated.
“Well, not literally, but isn’t that what he means if he has to hire a professional like me?” Felicia turned toward the maid, who nodded in agreement.
“Anyway. I don’t have much time to waste here. Ms. Arella swept out her entire wardrobe and asked me to buy her new stuff. In a nutshell, I can’t be with you all day.”
“Okay.”
“Melissa, show me the closet.”
“Sure, Felicia.”
Melissa led the fashion expert to the closet, and I followed them. I might be new here and without any rights to monitor what they did, but my experience as a maid at Red-Bone had taught me a lot. I had been blackmailed so many times when someone snuck in and slipped a noble’s belongings in my stuff.
Felicia’s nose stayed in the air as she rummaged through the things in the dressing room.
“Everything here looks old and familiar,” she complained, her fingers fiddling with a mesh dress.
“They aren’t old. I think they are very beautiful. I haven’t seen such fancy dresses in a while,” the words left my mouth before I could think.
“Well, I’m not surprised—considering you were a maid at your previous pack” Felicia spat out. She quickly covered her mouth. “Oh, did I say that outloud?”
I looked down. I couldn’t even hide the shame that engulfed me when she said that.
“Aren’t these Arella’s? Why are they here?” she questioned, Whipping her head around to look at me.
I hastily put my hands up. “I didn’t take them.”
“They are her old ones,” Melissa chimed in.
“Really?” Felicia chuckled. “Aren’t they usually given to the orphans?”
“Yes. It’s just that the Alpha brought her unannounced, and we didn’t know what to do regarding her clothes.”
“Well, I guess it doesn’t matter, since she said they are the most beautiful dress she has seen in a while.”
I had had enough of their snide remarks, so I blurted, “Are you guys done? I need to have a bath.”
“No, we aren’t. Go have a bath, we’ll be here doing our thing.”
“Actually. I—“
“Go on,” Felicia dismissed me.
I hesitated, unsure of what to do now that my plan to send them away hadn’t worked.
A knock at the door called for my attention again. I went to answer it, praying it would be Adrian. When I opened the door, I came face- to-face with a strict looking woman in a knee-length lavender gown and black bouncy curls.
“May I come in, Ms. Hale?” She asked in a cold, yet respectful tone.
My eyes drifted from her to the stack of clothes and shoes on the rolling racks .
“Oh these. They are from Alpha Adrian.”
“Alpha Adrian sent you with these?” My eyes narrowed into slits.
“Is there a problem?”
“Not at all. I’m just confused about the Fashion expert in the dressing room if he asked you to bring these.”
“Fashion expert? What fashion expert?”
——
“Elena, you don’t have to blow this out of proportion. It was just a harmless prank suggested by Arella.” Felicia, the ‘fashion expert’ who had walked in trash-talking me, groveled at Elena’s feet.
Apparently, she wasn’t a fashion expert at all, nor had she been sent by Adrian. Arella had sent her to make fun of me while invading my privacy.
“If you should be apologizing to anyone, it’s her, not me,” Elena spat, her brown eyes were void of emotion.
“Apologize to her? Isn’t she just a maid from the Red-Bone? Why should I apologize to her when my family is far more reputable than hers?”
“I heard her parents are deceased. She doesn’t have any family
or background” Melissa blurted out. Felicia’s head snapped toward her, then back to me.
“If that’s the case then the clothes truly suit you.”
“Really?” Elena sounded just as shocked as I was. “I guess I should table this
with the Alpha.”
“Nooo! Please don’t” Felicia begged, clutching one of Elena’s arms. Then she turned to me, her face contorted in what was clearly disappointment at the fact she had to apologize to me.
“It’s fine. You don’t have to apologize.”
“Quiet, Ms. Hale!” Elena shut me up, startling everyone in the room. “I can see it hasn’t clicked in your head that you’ll be Luna in a matter of weeks. Is this how you intend to bring disrespect to the throne—by being a pushover?”
“I wasn’t being a pushover. I was only…” My words failed me.
‘Kind?’ My wolf teased. “You know you are just being plain stupid. You are repeating the same pattern that left you shattered and broken.”
“Cat got your tongue?” Elena mocked. She turned to me with a stern look. “If you are going to rule next to my Alpha, then you must learn to act the part. We don’t want some weakling posing as a kind person, ruining everything he took years to build.”
I nodded, and with a new found confidence I tried to stand up for myself.
“Felicia and Melissa, you two owe me an apology for barging into my space, ruining my morning, and being disrespectful to me and my late parents.” I formed the words in my head, but my mouth trembled when it parted to say them.
“I—I’ve forgiven them.” I blurted instead.
Elena let out a frustrated groan.
Rebecca's POV"I will cut out your tongue if you reject me!" Leon roared in my face.I took a step back, heart hammering as I stared at him. Who was this monster?“You think you can just walk away from me, Rebecca?” He advanced, swallowing the space between us in a heartbeat. His hand clamped around my throat, the pressure stealing my breath. His gaze blazed as he looked me over, eyes seething with something I hadn’t seen in him before. “You will be my wife today, even if it kills you.”A chill ran through me. It already had, I thought to myself. I was supposed to be dead. I should have been dead, but somehow, I was here—back in the moment that sealed my fate. His fingers tightened, sending a wave of cold sweat across my skin. “No one else would want a hybrid bitch like you, so be grateful.”“If I’m just a hybrid bitch,” I managed, forcing my voice steady, “why marry me? I know it’s Diane you really want.”He froze. “Diane is your best friend,” he said, as if I didn’t already know.“A
Celia was sitting before a canvas, a painting brush trapped between her fingers. The bristles swiped lightly against the canvas, leaving trails of blue hues carefully trailed on the edge of pink. With one dirty rinse to dissolve most of the blue paint, she dabbed the brush on a paper towel and went in again. Her phone rang, interrupting her just when she was about to pick another brush. When her eyes caught on the caller ID she hissed and went back to work. But the caller persisted, and she was left with no choice but to answer.“Hello,” she said, rolling her eyes immediately.“Celia, I need your help.” the caller, Vivica, spoke abruptly.“You need my help?” Celia scoffed, “What happened to Elena?”“Elena can’t help me…”“Oh. You finally realize that. Good to know.” Celia said before ending the call.“Shortly after, the phone rang again.“You don’t give up huh, Vivica?” Celia fired over the phone as soon as she answered this time.“What do you mean? I…”“You didn’t only watch as Elena
Vivica’s POV“That stupid bitch,” I cursed under my breath while taking the wet clothes off.I changed into something else and dried my hair before heading back to the living room. Melissa was standing in the middle like she was the one who drenched me with water.“What is happening in the pack? Why were they all looking at me like that?” I asked her.She looked at me, surprised. “You seriously don’t know?”“I wouldn’t be asking you if I did.”Her furrowed eyebrows gradually loosened as she cleared her throat to speak. “The Alpha punished two men for simply striking a conversation with you." she began and my eyes narrowed. “The pack members are pissed off because they think you’ve brought nothing but chaos since you joined the pack.”“Adrian punished two men for simply talking to me? Does that even make sense to you?” I said impatiently. Melissa became quiet. “Those men were harassing me!” I explained. “And how was I supposed to know Adrian…wait. What did the Alpha do to them?”“Th
Vivica’s POVIt’s been more than an hour of rummaging the suite for something to do, anything at all to ease the idleness that was gradually eating me up. While I was in the Red-Bone Pack, I had always prayed for a day when I wouldn’t have to wake up before everyone else and retire for the night after every living thing had slept off. But now that the Moon Goddess had finally granted that prayer, it suddenly felt like a curse. There was literally nothing to do asides eating, sleeping and binge watching TV.I had checked every corner of the suite but everything was clean and in order, it left me wondering if the maids were robots. Frustrated and angry, I went to the living room. Barely thirty minutes after sitting before the giant TV I decided I had finally had enough. I was going to take a tour around Crescent-Moon. I should have done that long ago, but the dreadful glares I received the one time I went to the gym with Adrian taught me everything I need to know—avoid the pack me
Adrian’s POVIt was a Saturday morning, and normally I would be at the gym working out but after staying out late the previous night and the amount of work waiting for me at noon, I decided to stay a little longer in bed. But my plan was shattered when my phone kept vibrating on the lamp stand.I grumbled and turned to the opposite side, burying my face under the pillow even all just to shut the noise, but the it persisted as the relentless caller kept failing my phone.“This better be something important,” I said, rolling to the lamp side to take the phone.“Arella?” My eyes brows arched as I sat up on the bed. “What could be so urgent that had to keep calling?”“Hey Ella,” I said yawning. “What’s the matter.”“I’m outside your door.” She said in her usual grumpy tone.“Okay. Give me a moment.”I ended the call and got up to change indo something appropriate.I slid into a pair of loose pants and plain white shirt.I dragged my sleep induced frane to the door and as soon as i opened
Vivica’s POV We drove to the beach while Adrian played some country music. I enjoyed the rhythm and instinctively started to vibe to it.I caught him staring at me a few times and I glared back—my silent way of telling him to keep his eyes on the road. Minutes later, the air grew colder, and I knew we were close. He found the perfect spot to park before we climbed out. “Don’t come out yet,” he said. He ran around to my side and opened the door. “Your shoes, let me help you take them off.” I turned my face away to hide a smile at the sweet gesture. “Thank you,” I cooed when he was finished. He took his own shoes off and untucked his shirt before we headed toward the water. My feet sank into fine sand, which seemed to drag me back as I ran toward the waves. “Careful!” Adrian shouted, chasing after me. I let out a shrill cry of excitement as the icy water touched my feet.“It’s so cold!” “I know. Which is good for us warm-blooded species,” “Right?” “Yeah.” When I reached do

Vivica’s POVThe wedding was pushed back by an hour so I could compose myself and redo my makeup. Celia worked quickly to retouch my face, apologizing incessantly for having left me alone in the first place. I told her not to be hard on herself, assuring her it wasn’t her fault at all. If I had w
Jason’s POV“What do you mean they are backing out of the deal?” I asked, looking up from the computer screen as my manager struggled to find the right words.“I don’t know, Alpha. He just sent an email this morning asking for a refund.”“Don’t give him the refund.” I ordered, returning my attenti
