I smiled as I looked at my son who was asleep in his father’s arms, on his chest.

His breathing was slow, calm, and his heartbeat was normal, telling me that he was feeling safe and happy in his father’s arms.

I got up from the desk, having been reading a book, and walked toward them with a smile on my face. Dante smiled up at me, and raising his face, he connected his lips with mine, giving me a gentle kiss that made my heart melt.

“How are you feeling?” He asked gently. I smiled and sat on the armrest beside him, watching our son with a smile on my face. It has been a very long day, and with what I found out about Giovanni and Mattia, what they’ve done to Eva, and how she reacted, I had to admit, I wasn’t in my best of moods.
