Mia stands staring at us in shock as Daryl and I discuss how we are going to get Rudy out, she didn’t like any of the ideas we suggested and kept insisting that we go back immediately but that would be to obvious and completely expected by Jax.
“We have to remember Jax played me” Daryl was frowning at me “He was well ahead in his plans, although it failed when you killed Hayden” Daryl gives me a little smile
“But we can’t leave my brother” Mia was whining
“I am not saying we should leave him, but going in all guns blazing is not the answer and you should know that”
“But he is my brother”
“And if our Queen hadn’t been caught, you would probably be dead right now” Daryl snarls at her

He walks down the hall towards my office, the weight of the world on his shoulders and before he goes in he gives me one final glance and asks if he can have some time to think.I nod although a little confused as to what was happening and watch as he shuts the door behind him. Rudy finally relaxes after we give him some more answers, we still don’t tell him what we are because he freaked out about hearing voices in his head so we fill it’s just best that we don’t for the time being.Daryl gives him a chance to stay in the house, he would have guards stationed outside his room and they would accompany him anywhere he went. The scream was loud and echoed across the grounds waking up the pack and as the lights of nearby houses flickered on, the dim light revealing the face half hidden by a green hood. It had been almost a year since I lost my mate, my best friend, my true love. I wish I had been told how much pain losing a mate would cause and how long it would last because the truth is, it never goes away and you can only learn to accept it along with being alone. Truth is, I didn’t want the pain to ever go away because to me it signalled that I wasn’t ready to move on and nor do intend too. As I sit watching the twins crawl around, I smile and hoped they would never feel the same pain that I do but at the same time I was grateful to have them here, a boy and a girl because they kept me fighting another day. The boy I had named after Daryl, Daryl Junior or as I had been calling him DJ, two minutes older than his sister, he was the spitting image of his father, right down to his eyes. They were not the traditional amber colour of a Royal but bright blue and they gave me hope that he would have a better life than being the leader of the Royals when my time was up.
