chapter 4

Dean pov.

I arrived at my magnificent castle, holding the bags of things I had bought at the mall. A rush of excitement washed over me, knowing that Sierra would be thrilled to see what I had brought for her.

As I walked into the castle and headed towards her bedroom, I heard a faint sob coming from inside. Concern gripped me, and I forcefully swung the door open, hoping that nothing bad had happened to Sierra.

To my dismay, I found her in tears, looking at me with sadness. In that moment, I dropped the items I was carrying and rushed to her side.

Gently, I wiped away the tears from her eyes, and she looked up at me, a glimmer of a smile breaking through her sorrow.

"What's wrong?" I asked, eager to understand why she was so upset.

She held my hands, her touch soft and comforting, while she continued to gaze into my eyes.

"Do you think I'm making the right choice?" she asked, leaving me confused by her unexpected question.

Moving closer to her, I embraced her tightly, using my hand as a shield. I couldn't understand why she would doubt herself like this.

After a while, we pulled back slightly, and I looked down at her, searching for answers.

"Why do you feel this way? Has someone hurt you?" I asked, desperate to uncover the reason behind her tears and her uncertain question.

"I want you to know, Sierra, that in my heart, you will be my Luna. I have sent messages to all the other packs, inviting them to witness the beauty and love that my Luna possesses. So, if you're questioning whether you're making the right choice, then yes, you are doing the right thing," I reassured her.

Standing up, I walked over to the item I had placed on the floor earlier and returned to her side.

"I also have something for you that I believe you will treasure deeply," I announced, a smile playing on my lips as I handed her the bag.

Her face filled with excitement as she eagerly accepted the bag from my hands. Opening it swiftly, she discovered a beautiful red dress and a stunning necklace, fully aware of the considerable fortune they had cost me.

"Do you like it?" I asked, my words trailing off as she instantly embraced me, tears of joy streaming down her cheeks.

"Why are you crying, darling?" The word "darling" slipped out of my mouth unintentionally, and I felt a pang of guilt for using such an endearment when I hadn't even officially made her my Luna yet.

"Sorry," I murmured softly, gazing at her. She smiled and drew my face closer to hers, planting a tender kiss on my lips before pulling away after five seconds.

"You don't have to apologize. I love it."

I smiled and turned to walk away.

"Where are you going?" she inquired. I smiled and turned to face her.

"I'm heading to my room. I think it's best if I take a bath."

She nodded, still amazed by the gift, and I smiled before making my way to my room.

Sitting down on my bed, I slowly removed my clothes, and just as I was about to finish, my phone began to ring.

I ceased pulling at my clothes and glanced at the phone to check the caller ID. It was Linda.

I dropped the phone onto the bed as I discarded the last of my garments and proceeded towards the bathroom. I couldn't forget what her sister had told me. Was she trying to insult me in some way?

I shook my head, attempting to dismiss those words, and wrapped a towel around my waist after stepping out of the shower. Turning on the water, I relished in the warmth as I enjoyed a relaxing bath.

After spending at least ten minutes inside, I finally emerged and grabbed my phone, noticing a series of missed calls from Linda. I also saw a message she had sent.

"Dean, can we meet? I know you have a new partner now, and that's okay. But I would still like to talk to you. Even if you no longer love me, can we at least have a conversation as friends? Let's meet at the wooden playground. I'll be waiting for you."

Uncertain of how to respond, I decided it wouldn't hurt to have a conversation, so I mustered the courage to give it a try.

After getting dressed, I quietly left the castle without informing Sierra. I knew I probably should have told her, but I didn't want her to be frightened by the mere presence of Linda anymore.

As I strolled towards the wooden playground, I couldn't help but notice the eerie silence that enveloped the surroundings. It seemed as if everyone had already gone home, leaving behind a still and desolate atmosphere.

Continuing on my path, a figure caught my attention, drawing my curiosity. Intrigued, I approached, only to realize it was Linda's sister, standing there in silence.

"Where is Linda?" I inquired, my voice filled with genuine curiosity. She chuckled softly and came closer, her hand almost brushing against my chest. Instinctively, I gently but firmly held her wrists, pushing her away.

"Is this some sort of sick joke?" I exclaimed, my eyes fixed on her. My expression conveyed a mix of disbelief and anger.

Unfazed, she smiled and stepped closer, maintaining unwavering eye contact. Her eyes held a complex array of emotions, revealing her inner turmoil.

"You know, Dean, I should have had you a long time ago," she said with a bitter tone. "It would be fair if I betrayed my sister. But you are the one who had betrayed her and caused her so much pain. You may be the Alpha, but rest assured, I will ensure you pay for what you've done to her. It would be wise for you to apologize and make her your Luna, or else you'll witness my wrath."

Enraged, I forcefully gripped her arm, feeling my anger coursing through my veins. We locked eyes in a tense standoff.

"Do you understand that I am your Alpha?" I bellowed, my voice resounding through the air. She merely shrugged, her hand grazing my shoulder lightly. Pushing her away, I distanced myself from her presence.

"Go and tell your sister to find a man to marry, for I will never make her my Luna."

With those final words, I turned on my heel and walked away, oblivious to her thoughts or intentions.
