Chapter 73
Desmond walked with me in the morning, holding my hand, all the way to town. I talked about the village and he talked about the changes to the pack. Catching up more than just the twenty questions we passed out in the middle of last night. As we walked into town, I tried to drop my hand but instead he pulled me close, looping my arm in his.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
“I just thought…appearances?”
He shook his head. “To hell with appearances. Everyone already knows. I’ll be damned if I finally get a divorce and can’t even hold you in my own pack territory.” Desmond growled the last bit.
Smiling, I placed my hand on his arm, leaning into it. “Fine then. Fuck them.”
“Come on, we are gonna be late at this pace.”

I wish I had woken up with the sun, birds chirping, ready to start the day. Instead, I was leaned over the toilet at five in the morning throwing up dinner from the night before. “Desmond.” Olivia cried into my chest. Her arms were wrapped around my neck and my arms were wrapped around her lower back, holding her close to me. One of the goddesses was rubbing my back, another was rubbing hers. I didn’t care about saving face. I cried into Olivia’s arm, finally holding her again.
