Chapter 74
I wish I had woken up with the sun, birds chirping, ready to start the day. Instead, I was leaned over the toilet at five in the morning throwing up dinner from the night before. My hands shook and I grimaced. Going through two previous pregnancie, it had never been this bad. A hand rubbed my back and some water dropped into view. I took it and first swished it around in my mouth, spitting it out. The second sip I gulped down.
“Thank you.” I smiled up at Ricky.
“It’s still pretty bad?”
I nodded. “Doctor basically said I could symptom control. I’ll do a ginger root tea. See if that helps. If not, I’ll try a nausea potion. But if that doesn’t work then I’m totally fucked.”
“Damn you guys. Quit being so hard on your mom. Uncle forbids it.” Ricky poked my stomach and I laughed.

I walked out and looked around. Olivia had been working on a magic circle in the middle of the clearing just above the ley line for days. “Desmond.” Olivia cried into my chest. Her arms were wrapped around my neck and my arms were wrapped around her lower back, holding her close to me. One of the goddesses was rubbing my back, another was rubbing hers. I didn’t care about saving face. I cried into Olivia’s arm, finally holding her again.
