I walked out and looked around. Olivia had been working on a magic circle in the middle of the clearing just above the ley line for days. She would go over it again and again trying to make it perfect. Painting it by hand in a mixture of herbs, white chalk and magic. At one point I had tried to help but she kicked me out of the clearing and said I couldn’t do anything.
“Where do you want us?” I stood behind her, kissing her head.
She was tense though and even the kiss didn’t remove the tension in her shoulders. Olivia was looking over the clearing. Taking a deep breath, she looked up at me and smiled.
“Alright! I need Ricky right here.” She pointed to the tip of the circle.
He skipped over and stood just outside the circle.
“Janet, I need you on the opposite end of Ricky. Imogen, I need you to the right of her.”
“Her right or yours?”
Olivia chuckled. “Hers. Thank you fo
“Honestly, those old farts are just looking for a reason to fling their power around.” Tatiana was sitting on our couch. Nat was sitting at her feet as Olivia’s mother, the Fey Queen, braided her hair. The two of them had gotten along surprisingly well. Liam was wary of her since Olivia had talked more about her with him but his curiosity won over. He was sitting next to her, the two of them chatting about the fey council. She had show up a day ago. Alpha Bucho and Luna Stacy were staying in a tent that they set up a mile or so into the forest. I excused Nat from school for a few days while Olivia was gone. It had been three days. Three days since she was taken by Ricky to the goddesses. If I wasn’t pacing in the house, I was kneeling in the middle of the clearing. While I knew she was still alive through our bond, it didn’t help me not to worry. Every time I tried to reach out, it was just
“Are you sure that’s how small you want the kitchen to be?”I rubbed my eyes. “It’s already double the size of the one at the pack house. I’m not feeding the entire pack here.”“I mean, you pretty much do now.”Glaring at Iggy, I shook my head. “You only say that because you don’t have to clean it.”“I think the kitchen is fine. We need to nail down the amount of bedrooms though.” Nat yelled from the opposite end of the clearing.“You, Liam, the boys, Ricky, Olivia and I, plus however many guest rooms you think we need.”“Eight?”I coughed. “Nat, we don’t need eight guest rooms.”“Look at how many people we are housing!”My fingers pinches the bridge of my nose. “Four. Four guest and one of them will double as an office for me.”“We are getting a theater room r
“Desmond.” Olivia cried into my chest. Her arms were wrapped around my neck and my arms were wrapped around her lower back, holding her close to me. One of the goddesses was rubbing my back, another was rubbing hers. I didn’t care about saving face. I cried into Olivia’s arm, finally holding her again. The sparks were there but her scent was dulled by the water. We both were soaking wet. “I told you he could do it.” “Yes yes. You told me so. I get it.” Olivia was shaking and I held her as tight as I thought she could bare. The bump of her stomach pressed against me and I stared to cry in relief all over again. “Never again, my love. Stop trying to leave me.” She nodded, not saying a word. “It’s been chaos without you. Your whole family has been absolute chaos. Your older brother and mother especially. But then add in my parents, my friends, plus our kids. Olivia, you aren’t leaving me alone with those crazy people again.”
Olivia was sitting one of the dining chairs and I leaned against the back of it. Across from me, Alpha Bucho was doing the same with his Luna. We had to pull up more chairs to the table. Janet, Imogen, Tatiana, Scott, Eli, Derek, Iggy, Liam, my father and mother, Alpha Claude and his mate Chloe, with his new Beta, Victor, Zeus and another witch by the name of Agatha were all now around the our table. Agatha was also a head which of a couple of the covens that had sought sanctuary when Tatiana was on her rampage. Now her and a few other covens decided to stay on my lands.Papers and maps were strewn out on the table that we had collected over the past few days. Most were from the Alpha King’s domain. Letters from werewolves and fey who were dealing with the massive influx of soldiers. Not to mention the persecution if anyone decided to speak out. We had maps of their camps, locations of their outposts. The fey were a little more quiet and we only had some notes jotted do
My eyes watched Olivia’s face. Her eyes were focused and she was biting her lip. It took a lot of effort not to smile. We were in a familiar position. She was sitting at the top of the porch, while I was a few steps below her, my head resting in her lap. Slowly and carefully, she was shaving the beard that had overgrown in the past few months. Her hands softly turned my head to the side and I closed my eyes, feeling the scrape of the blade against my skin.It was so quiet. For the first time in weeks, the house was just her, I and Nasir who was laying down at the far end of the porch. I hadn’t seen Ricky since the outburst at the dinner table. Olivia and Nasir also seemed more distant than usual. I was worried but every time I brought it up, she would ignore me or brush off the question. Now it was so bad, they were barely in the same room together.“Almost done. Just some final touch-ups.”I made a noise, acknowledging her but not moving
Hello Everyone!!First, let me say I appreciate your patience with me! I 100% am fully committed to Alpha Desmond and I intend on finishing it in the next couple weeks here for you all! Let me apologize, for the late uploads and the radio silence.I had actually finished Alpha Desmond near the last time I updated. But when I took my hands off the keyboard I realized, I hated it. It didn’t feel true to the characters. It felt forced and rushed and just wrong to me as both a writer and a reader. These characters are near and dear to my heart and I want it to be genuine. I was frustrated and just burnt out.Mix that with my work, being unable to do anything for two weeks because I had stitches in my hand. It just continued to push me away from the story. I realized once I healed and was able to remedy my day job that I needed a pallet cleanser before I jumped back in, literally throwing 10-15 chapters in the trash that I had finished on Alpha Desmond. I wrote a Billionaire/CEO love story
***Olivia’s POV*** I watched Desmond leave and I pulled my shirt back down. My heart felt raw, the emotions that he spilled into me were hard to handle. I knew he had been holding things back since I came back, trying to be my strength but I didn’t realize how much. I felt bad that he had been trying so hard to be strong and then coming undone when he listened to Ricky. Anger bubbled up in me. We had the serious conversation at the dinning table before everyone had arrived. We didn’t even realize we were yelling at each other for that long. Not until he stormed off. Nasir was even mad at me. It hurt, not having him close anymore but I wasn’t going to bend. I told Desmond alright and I wanted him by my side for a long as I could have him there but I wouldn’t risk him getting killed. Turning, I opened up one of the kitchen drawers. Tatiana had left two of the plaques that matched the other ones on the kids doors. It was left blank for when we decided on the boys names. Taking them wi
My heart hammered in my chest. Chloe, Yvonne, and Stacy flittered around me. They were adjusting my hair and dress. We had decided that we would have the ceremony outside at the gazebo. Because the Luna ceremony dictated it to be on a full moon at night, lights had been strung throughout the entire town center which flowed through the window of the pack house. “Ladies, it’s nearly time.” Iggy called from the front door. Nat walked up to me and took my hands in hers. “Mom, don’t be nervous. This is just semantics. You already are loved and accepted by all of us.”I looked up, willing myself not to cry. “Thank you. It means the world to me.”“Where is my sister?” Ricky called out from the entryway.I smiled. He was dressed in a black suit with a black bow tie. His hair was tied up in a topknot. Freezing in the entry, our eyes met and he immediately started to tear up. “Fuck, Ricky, don’t you dare.”“You look…”Putting up a finger, I raised my head and took a deep breath. “Don’t.”“H
