Chapter 40 - Unexpected guests

He fell to his knees, and I instantly shouted, "Don't shoot!" I went towards Noah and pulled out the dart from his arm. When I saw that his skin started turning red instead of grey, I took a deep calming breath. They shot him with wolfsbane, not silver. If it were silver, it would be almost impossible to tackle the situation without giving him long-term issues.

"Go inside," Noah said through clenched teeth, and I rolled my eyes at him.

"I am a huntress, Noah. You're the one in danger, not me," I said to him, scanning the area. "Go inside," I instructed him, and about to head towards the woods when he grabbed my hand.

"I can't let a captive of a pack run away under my guard," he said to me, and I huffed at the stubbornness of these wolves.

"This is the Blue Moon pack, the land that belongs to the hidden alpha. Even we hunters think twice before planning anything against this pack. Don't give yourself this much authority here. The alpha knows everything that happens here," I told him
