Lea:
“Move,” Alpha Stefano said, pushing me out of the car. I had to fight back crying in pain as I fell on my knees.
The Alpha’s blonde hair was already messed up from how much he ran his fingers through it, and his brown eyes held a kind of rage that would have scared anyone who would have dared look at him in the first place.
“Alpha, please…”
“Did you really fucking expect me not to find out about your treasons?” He asked, glaring daggers at me. I knew that he was stopping me from completing anything that I was saying because he didn’t want me defending myself.
It seemed to me that things were far deeper than I ever knew.
“I did not betray…” he kicked me in the stomach, stopping me from completing my sentence. The rest of the pack joined to look at the two of us, and I couldn’t help but find myself being in shame at that. I didn’t even do anything but go with my father. He often told me that we were invited, but he never did give me a reason, and I knew better than to ask.
“You and your father chose to go through a dark path…” he said, uncovering my father’s body. My eyes welled up with tears at his sight, and the man grabbed me by my hair, forcing me to my feet. He pushed me toward his body, which, thankfully, Alpha Cosimo had placed in a crate. I had to fight back, closing my eyes, knowing that the Alpha would be angrier than he already was. The rest of the pack either looked away or gasped at the sight. “I would have you join him, but considering that we have no other maid to be cleaning around the pack; I am forced to keep you alive.”
“I didn’t do anything. I merely went and…”
He pushed me down on the ground before I could finish my sentence. I cried out as I felt my wrist cracking under my weight, and the Alpha kept his eyes on me, his glare darkening more than it already was before he grabbed me by my chin, forcing me to look up at him. “One more word from you and I am going to cut your tongue off. You were in the house of the enemy, and I doubt that he forced you there with a chain. You know the punishment of going somewhere without your Alpha’s knowing, and rather than telling me, you followed the man. Therefore, consider yourself lucky to be alive in the first place.”
Tears fell from my eyes before I could stop them, and I could swear, for one second, that the Alpha’s eyes softened before he pushed me back again. I whimpered in pain, and keeping my eyes on my father’s body, I could hear the Alpha walking toward the house. “Take her to the pack doctor to get her hand checked, and she starts working tomorrow. I am going to have the spec of mercy by giving her one night to mourn.”
“His body, Alpha?” Zenith, his beta asked, making me perk up as I fought to stand despite the pain that I felt. The last thing that I wanted was for them to take my father’s body.
I looked at the Alpha and his beta, and when the Alpha’s eyes met mine, I could see his dark expression, knowing that he was going to do everything but give him a proper grave. “Burn him, and keep his head, hang it inside the main arena. Let everyone see what is to be done to those who think of betraying their pack and Alpha. Maybe his daughter would learn a lesson or two from it too.”
“Please, no,” I begged, gulping as I tried voicing out my words. My hands shook, and it took everything in me to voice out my sentence despite my trembling and tears. “Please, I know that you do not want to give him a grave, but allow me to bury him…”
“Do as fucking told,” he said, stopping me. Zenith looked at me, and I looked away, biting my bottom lip as I tried stopping myself from crying out because of the pain that I felt. “And I told you, omega; ONE more word out of you, and you are going to be paying the price of it.”
I went to open my mouth to respond before Zenith shook his head at me, silently begging me not to say anything. I took a deep breath before looking down at my feet, avoiding the Alpha’s eyes and he smirked, believing that he got his way.
My chest ached, and my stomach churned, but I walked toward the house with my head low as I tried my best to fight showing my pain.
The walls in the Estate’s house felt thick, and the air tight, but I made my way to the infirmary, making sure to stay quiet as I knew that I was being followed. My words would have been heard and as we always said within the pack, ‘the walls had ears, and the ground spoke, and when the air tightened, that is when trouble arose.’
But the weakness that I felt at that moment was not one that I liked.
I was alone, completely, fucking alone.
And having nowhere to go, I knew that this torment was one that I was going to have to live with.
Therefore, with that thought in mind, I knocked on the infirmary door, knowing that the pack doctor was inside.
“Come in,” she said, and I took a deep breath before opening the door as I fought to stop my tears. “Lea, how can I help you?”
“I fell and hurt my wrist,” I said, raising my hand for her to see. Her eyes widened in surprise and she nodded at the infirmary bed. “Can you please help me tend to it? I need it to heal before the Alpha calls for me tomorrow…”
Diego:A heavy feeling filled my chest as I walked toward the pack where my mate was supposed to be.I watched as the Alpha and his pack members trained, and though I knew that she was here, her scent filled my nostrils; she was nowhere to be seen. Alpha Stefano raised an eyebrow at my scent, and turning to face me, he nodded at his beta before he walked toward me. I wasn’t keen about being here, but I knew that if I was going to be getting the crest, then I was going to have to play this game in a smart way.“I have to admit, I am surprised to find you here,” he said, looking me in the eye. Nevertheless, he extended a hand for me to shake, one that I looked at for a second before extending mine in return.“Your omega’s father stole something from us, and I came to claim it back.” I said, and he raised an amused eyebrow. He waited for a second too long before bursting out in laughter, one that annoyed me more than anything, especially since I knew that the man was mocking me.“You ca
Lea:I cleaned the toilet as the Alpha had instructed. I knew better than to do otherwise. The punishments that he gave told me that he was enjoying making me suffer, and after a week of dealing with them, I grew tired of fighting. Today was the first time that he hadn’t forced me to go out and look at my father’s head, and though I didn’t know why, I didn’t even bother asking. He barged into the bathroom, taking me off guard before grabbing a fistful of my hair, pulling it back. I cried out in pain as I dropped the mop that I was holding on the ground. And he growled. “I was informed that your father stole from the Medici.” He said, his voice dark with anger. I tried wrapping my hand around his wrist, wanting him to loosen his grip, but he merely tightened it. He let out another low growl.“I do not know of such a thing,” I said, struggling with the pain, and he scoffed.“What do you know anyway?” He said, mocking me. The man pushed me hard, and I was forced to hold onto the sink’s
Diego:“No luck?” Giovanni asked, and I shook my head. I tapped the table in front of me three times as I tried thinking straight. The two of us were at a bar, sitting in front of the window as we got ourselves a few drinks. I needed to think straight, and I knew that going home now was not going to be an option.“The fucker said that he burned all the man’s belongings. If Cosimo was right about the man stealing the pendant, there is a high chance that it was burned in that fire too.” I said, and he took a deep breath. “Wherever that fire was anyway,”“If it contained a certain power, shouldn’t it have a shield? I doubt that it would just ‘burn’ and get destroyed.” He said, and I shook my head. I didn’t even know what was true right now, but I knew that things were going to be messed up. “The crest wasn’t made yesterday. It is an ancient one, and if it managed to survive through all the years that came, the renaissance, and…”“I know, and that is why I want to find a way to find that
Lea:I woke up on a white bed, my eyes widening in surprise as I gasped as I tried processing where I was.My heart raced against my ribcage, and I frowned at the pain that I felt as my sore muscles reminded me of where I was.“Easy,” a doctor said, her voice softening. I looked down at my body, frowning when I saw that I was barely wearing shorts and what looked like a sports bra. I knew for fact that I didn’t come here with them. “We had to change the dress as it was smudged with blood, and considering the wounds, we preferred not to cover them for them to gradually heal. But that meant not putting a dress on,”“Where am I?” I asked, frowning in confusion. I sat up, fighting back the pain that I felt, before she handed me a small jewelry box. I frowned in confusion and opened it to find the bracelet, my father’s, and my mother’s necklace inside. “We had to take them off when we changed and cleaned your body. No one has touched or seen anything except for me and the two nurses that
Diego:“She is awake, Alpha.” Paola said, and I nodded as I looked up from the paper that I was reading.“Did you give her the dress?” I asked, and she nodded.“Yes,” she said, and I nodded. “She was told that it is of a pack member and she allowed her to borrow it. She is yet to see her closet though, but I figure that it is not going to be long considering that I told her that the room was now hers.”“As long as she is here, I am going to manage speaking to her my way. You have done your part well, thank you.” I said, and she nodded. I knew that things were going to be a little more complicated now that she was here, at least, with me earning her trust. “She didn’t have anything with her when she came? Aside from the dress?”“An old silver necklace, it was mostly broken and overused. A little dirty too and needs to be shined, and a bracelet.” She said, and I nodded. “Did you give them back to her?” I asked, not wanting her to think that we would be stealing her things. The last thi
Lea:My wolf perked up at the scent of Diego, the man who was supposed to be our mate, approached the room. The door was open, I didn’t bother closing it after I changed my clothes, and considering that two nurses were here anyway, I didn’t find the need to do so.I had to admit, it took more effort in me to control myself as he walked inside the room, smiling at me. It was the first time that I have seen him smile, and though I wasn’t sure about the reason behind his smile, I couldn’t help but find myself being mesmerized. He looked at both the nurses and nodded, silently dismissing them from the room. And I blushed at the fact that I would be in the presence of the Alpha, by myself, for the first time.“How are you feeling?” He asked, and though I stayed calm, I couldn’t help but find myself feeling like my heart skipped a beat. The idea of him speaking to me was not one that I would have ever dreamed of, but now, I was in front of him, IN his home, after HE saved me. “I am well,
Diego:“I take it, by that devious smile of yours, that you managed to get here right where you wanted her.” Giovanni stated, raising an amused eyebrow. I smirked, and winked, knowing that I not only got her where I wanted her, but that I could tell that she was easily played.“She is blinded by the mating bond, and I am going to take advantage of that.” I said, and he shook his head at me. I knew that this was one dirty game to play, but I also knew, very well, that this was going to be the easiest way to get what I wanted, and that included finding whatever I was looking for.“You are going to end up regretting this in the end.” He said, and I raised an eyebrow. “She is going to be getting too attached, and you know how difficult it is to get rid of an attached woman.”“That would be her call. As long as I got what I wanted and both our pack and home were safe, the rest can rot in hell. However, the one issue that I am going to be having right now is Renata. My woman is upset, and I
Lea:“What is this omega doing here?” I heard a few girls, the same girls who were with Renata the other day, snicker. “Does Renata know of this?” Another asked.“And what is that dress that she is wearing? How could she even afford something like this?” I didn’t say a word as I walked around the pack grounds. My head was hung low, and I knew not to dare cross any limits by speaking to any of the pack members in fear that they were of higher rank. The idea of them wanting to have my head was not one that I aimed to deal with, and the fact that I didn’t even know what I was going to be doing was another thing that bothered me. “You found your way to my home after you failed to catch my mate’s attention.” I heard Renata say from behind me. I stopped, my stomach churning at the word ‘mate’, and I couldn’t help but find myself turning around to face her.“For a mate, you are far too protective. It seems that you are more or less possessive even,” I said, raising an eyebrow at her. “It c
