DRAEKON stared at Vaelora, anger evident in his eyes.

He understood her tricks. He knew the law scroll she had decided to use to her advantage.

But he was going to frustrate her.

"Silence."

The moment the word dropped from his mouth, the entire place went calm, accompanied by a feral growl from Andronikos, which resonated through the roof.

"Chief Wofah, I do understand your concerns." Draekon nodded. "However, this hypothetical point of yours, regarding the Luna's inability to birth a werewolf heir, isn't valid."

The place remained calm. No one dared cause chaos when Draekon spoke.

"Her wolf's dormancy, doesn't necessarily equate to her inability to reproduce pups with wolf genes. I mean, both my parents were werewolves, but I still managed to be partly DragonBorn by the virtue of a six hundred year prophecy. Who is to say I wouldn't be the first and last DragonBorn-wolf?"

The chiefs hummed in support, nodding their heads.

Zayn knew this was going to be such a b

THE moment his lips touched hers, Vaelora froze. Her heart dropped. She didn't even have the time to process Draekon's action, because he was the least bit gentle. Like a lion that had waited so long for its prey, he ate her up. Roughly. Greedily. Like he was punishing her. His large palm rounded her neck again, making her release a low gasp. Her actions had given him more room to plunder the crevices of her mouth, so he stuck his tongue in. His tongue tasted like grapes. Probably the wine he drank during dinner. "Hmmm....!" She released a muffled sound of rejection, trying to push him off her, but he kept her grounded, plundering her like a wolf on the hunt. After a few more seconds of feeling the heat of her mouth, he eventually pulled away, looking dazed. "Now, you remember your place." He whispered against her lips, before taking a step away from her. Immediately, Vaelora raised her hand and flung it across his right cheek, leaving a sting on his face.

ALPHA NOIR glared at his son, who didn't even bother to spare him as much as a glance. "Draekon, you cannot be angry that Zayn did what he did." "He is my brother." Draekon said sharply, his attention still on the petition scrolls before him. "And he is her best friend!" Alpha Noir shot back. "I may trust Vaelora to be safe with you, but does he?" Draekon finally raised his head, his gaze resting on Alpha Noir's figure. "Vaelora is my mate now. My wife!" The possessive tone in which Draekon said that, had Alpha Noir taken back for a second. "I alone should worry about her safety!" He finished. "You cannot...." Alpha Noir was still speaking, when Draekon cut him off. "You realize that Zayn's crime is a punishable offense, not so?" Draekon eyed his father closely. "It is treason. Vaelora has schemed to dissolve our bond. To remove herself as Luna! And Zayn aided her. Interfered with a royal mating bond!" Thick silence ensued for a few seconds, Alpha Noir tr

ZAYN had led them both to his chambers, where they could have their discussion without the worry of being overheard by anyone. "You found the loophole?" Vaelora asked in an accusatory manner. "Calm down, Vaelora." He sighed. "But how? We went through those scrolls so many times, and we didn't find a thing. How did you?" "We had both been looking at the wrong places." Zayn said, slowly heading towards his work table and picking up a scroll lying there. "The historical law scrolls for marriage isn't the wrong place, is it?" Vaelora was confused. Where else could they have found a loophole out of a marriage, if not in the laws scrolls for marriage? Just then, Zayn handed over the scroll in his hand to her. "One of the scrolls under the library's section for Historical Laws on Annulment." Oh, goddess. Quickly opening the scroll, Vaelora read through, her eyes widening even more with each line she consumed. "Zayn...." She whispered, happy tears welling up her e

VAELORA didn't expect these much maids would assemble. They were over a hundred of them. Though, the House of Veylor was a large empire. It housed over thirty High Lords and Ladies, so the number of maids working there, seemed quite reasonable. "Luna, I have gathered them all." Danika; the Chief maid over the House of Veylor, whispered to Vaelora. She was a middle aged woman that still managed to look extremely younger. Werewolf genes aside, she had a great look. "Thank you, Danika." She gave an appreciative nod, looking back at the maids before her. A small smile made its way to Vaelora's face. She was going to deeply root her feet within the grounds of the House of Veylor, and she was going to begin with the lowest of ranks. A power move rooted in both politics and survival. "Today, we are going to do a bit of reshuffling and reassigning." She began. "I hear that some of you have been serving in a particular department for too long." She exhaled lowly, b

"WHAT the hell are you looking for, Vaelora?" Hearing Draekon's unexpected question, helpless panic rose within her. She actually had no idea that Draekon had returned to the House of Veylor, until that maid had come to call her down for dinner, as per his orders. Vaelora knew better than to obey and go downstairs, when their chambers was currently a desperation infested sea of law scrolls. She had thought three days would be enough for her to find a loophole, but goddess! How wrong she had been. Even after a whole week, she had found..... NOTHING. She quickly ran round, packing up the scrolls into one of the empty chests in their chambers, hoping Draekon didn't appear in their chambers before she was done covering her tracks. Turns out she had managed to throw the lone scroll she mistakenly left out of the chest, behind the curtains, just in time for her to sit and appear unbothered, before Draekon showed up. She was successful. Or so, she thought. Vaelora
