STACY.

(Meanwhile in Blue Moon)

The morning sunlight slips through the thin curtains of my small room in the pack house, casting weak golden lines across the floor. I sit on the edge of the bed, still wrapped in the same clothes from yesterday. Liam stirs lightly beside me, curled up with his thumb in his mouth. I don’t want to wake him yet. Not when he looks so peaceful.

I stretch, my bones aching from the hard mattress. It’s nothing like the plush beds I used to sleep on in all my life. But this is my reality now. Starting from nothing. Again.

I glance at the tiny bag I brought with me. Nothing inside but a few wipes, Liam’s diapers, and my phone with 4% battery. I let out a breath before mindlinking to my mom.

'Mom?' I send softly through the link.

'Stacy, sweetheart? Is everything okay?'

'Yeah. It’s just… I don’t have anything to wear. Do you still have some of my old clothes at home?'

'Of course I do,' she replies immediately. 'I’ll bring them over in a bit.'

JASON. (Meanwhile in midnight pack) ‘Alpha, what will you be having for breakfast today?’ My secretary, Avery, asks in mind link. ‘The usual will be great, thanks,’ I respond and cut the mind link. Today, I’m at the office, my mind deep in work. It’s been a few days since I married Nicole, and everything at home feels like it’s spiralling out of control. But slowly, I’m starting to see through the fog. I’ve stopped eating or drinking anything from home, and ever since, I’ve felt more like myself. The constant urge to please her has begun to fade, and for the first time in a long time, I can think clearly. I’ve thrown myself into pack duties, spending long hours at the office, neglecting Nicole as much as possible. I need space to figure out what’s been happening to me… Minutes later, Avery steps into my office, carrying my usual takeaway breakfast. Her presence is calm and efficient. Avery is young and undeniably attractive, with sharp eyes and a quick smile, but I respect

DANIEL. "I need to see them," I say my voice low and firm. “I thought you might,” she murmurs, pulling something from her coat pocket. A scrap of paper, scrawled with directions and a location. “Alpha, she made me promise not to tell anyone. But seeing what you did back there? Calling off the ceremony?” Her eyes soften. “Maybe there’s still hope for you two after all.” I nod, gripping the paper like it’s life itself. “Thank you,” I say and hastily walk back to my car because now whether she wants me or not… I’m not letting her go again especially after calling off my mating ceremony to Natasha... --- (A few hours later) The night air is cool as I drive through the unpaved path leading into the outskirts of the rogue healer’s territory which is barely marked—no streetlights, no welcoming signs, just dense woods and moonlight. My headlights cut through the dark until I see the frame of a worn-out cabin nestled beneath a cluster of weeping birch trees. Smoke curls ge

DANIEL. “Daniel,” Natasha hisses under her breath, her eyes wild and shimmering with unshed tears. “Please… don’t do this to me especially not in front of everyone.” Her hands grip mine, trembling. But I don’t return the hold. “I’m sorry, Natasha,” I say softly but firmly, my voice carrying weight that silences even the murmurs around us. “You deserve someone who will love only you completely. That’s not me.” She recoils as though I struck her. “Then why agree to this in the first place?” she chokes. “Was it your plan all along to make me look like a fool in front of the pack?” “No, I didn’t mean for it to get this far,” I admit sincerely with my jaw tight. “But it would be crueler to bind you to a man whose heart belongs to someone else.” She scoffs before asking in a hushed voice, "Does your heart belong to Stacy White?" she asks immediately but I stay silent—not because I don’t have an answer, but because I know exactly what kind of gossip will spread through the pa

DANIEL. The bitter taste of regret clings to my tongue as I leave the White’s house. Stacy’s mother is still standing on the porch, arms wrapped around herself like she’s holding in her soul, while Alpha Frank glares at my retreating back like I’m his child that failed him. I slam the truck door shut and grip the steering wheel hard enough for the leather to creak beneath my fingers. With Stacy's wolf gone and scent no more, it’ll be close to impossible to track her. But I’m not giving up. I activate the mind-link and reach out to my top trackers. 'Alec. Jorah. Mira. I need you three.' 'Yes, Alpha?' Alec responds immediately, his tone sharp with readiness. “Stacy White gone with her pup Liam. I am told they slipped past the perimeter sometime before dawn. Took a patrol truck. I want her found—but gently. She’s not a threat.” A pause, then three unified replies: 'Understood.' I rattle off the last location her tire marks were spotted and cut the link. I’m about to

DANIEL. (Blue Moon Pack Territory – Just before sunrise) The sharp crackle of a mind-link slices through my thoughts just as I step out of the shower after my routine patrol around the pack. I brace myself, already knowing it can’t be good this early. “Alpha Daniel,” a young warrior’s voice filters through, sounding anxious. “We’ve got a situation.” I freeze mid-step, towel still slung around my shoulders. “What is it?” “It’s Miss Stacy. She… she left the pack grounds. One of the guards spotted her sneaking off with her pup. She stole one of the patrol trucks.” For a second, the words don’t compute. Then fury surges through me. “You watched her leave? Again?!” I growl, the windows in my room rattling with the power behind my voice. “I wasn't the one who spotted her, Alpha... I'm told she moved fast, and they didn’t realize what she was doing until it was too late. They didn’t think she’d—” “You didn’t think. That’s the problem.” The link falls silent. I clench

STACY “I was born here,” I say, trying to keep my voice steady even as my heart thunders. “I’m Alpha Frank’s daughter. Please, just look at him! He’s burning up and everything I have tried to bring his temperature down, it not worked.” The nurse crosses her arms, unmoved. “Alpha’s daughter or not, you left this pack when you became Luna of Midnight. You chose your side, Stacy.” My jaw tightens. “I didn’t choose to be cast aside. I didn’t choose to come back like this. He’s a pup. He’s innocent!” She shrugs like she’s heard it all before. “Pack policy is pack policy. I can’t treat outsiders without the Alpha’s consent.” I clutch Liam tighter as another wave of fevered heat rolls off his tiny body. His head lolls weakly against my chest, his skin clammy. Panic claws up my throat. I remember that I didn't even carry my cell when running out of the pack house. “Then give the damn Alpha a call and I’ll get the consent,” I snap. The nurse smirks. “I don't get orders from you
