3. Doing what Is Expected

[Warning: Dubious consent]

“Who...who…” My throat felt dry as I stared at the....werewolf? But we didn’t look like this. I scrambled to sit up, but his furry arms bracketed me, caged me from moving. I clutched on the blanket tightly.

“Mine,” he repeated, voice grated. I averted my gaze from his golden ones. Fear and panic had rendered my mind blank and even Astrid didn’t respond. She merely whimpered when he nuzzled the crook of my neck, right where the scent gland was situated. I was sweating profusely while hoping for alpha Isaac’s arrival. The room was doused in darkness. The dim lights from outside filtered in but they barely did anything to illuminate the room even to the slightest.

“Please….leave,” I managed to say. But my feeble voice went unheard as his tongue swiped across the skin above the scent gland. To my horror, I felt a shiver run down my spine. He lowered his body slightly, enough that I could feel his erection press against my stomach.

“I am...I am alpha Isaac’s bride, you...you need to leave,” I said forcefully this time. Who lets this wolf in? Who was he? When he did not pay heed, my panic turned into anger. ‘Astrid, we need to do something.’ My skin prickled as one of his clawed fingers caressed the side of my breast. It dawned upon me, alleviating my horror that if I didn’t do anything, I might possibly be raped and no one would stop that, not even Astrid, as she was calm and silent. No one had stopped him from entering this room, either. With all my might, I shoved at his chest. I was by no way a weak wolf. I had alpha blood in me and I trained my wolf in secret. Those training yielded good results today as the wolf staggered back a little, falling back beside me. I rolled out of the bed and made my way to the door only to find that the damned door was locked and it wouldn’t budge.

“Where do you think you are going?” that raspy voice growled as he snaked his strong arm around my waist, pulling me flush against his chest. “Who are you?” I growled while trying to free myself from his hold. Adrenaline had subdued my fear and I hoped it would keep fueling my anger as well. I let my claws sink into the meat of his forearm. He hissed, loosening his grip momentarily.

I started rattling the door and banging on it. “Open the door.” At the back of my mind, I knew that probably no one would be coming to help or open the door, and yet I kept banging louder, ignoring the stinging in my fists.

“Defying your alpha isn’t allowed here.” My hand stopped mid-action. I belatedly realised that he hadn’t done anything else to me, nor had he stopped me from asking for help. I slowly turned around, my heart thumping in my chest and my breath hitched at the sight. Instead of the black wolf who had tried to force himself on me, stood a man, not a stitch of clothes on him. My gaze carefully skated around his...private parts as I took in his form. I swallowed dryly.

His honeyed gaze met mine, a smirk played on his lips. “Weren’t you waiting for alpha Isaac? Well, here I am.” He spread his arms as he retorted. My back hit the door with a light thump as I stared at the man in disbelief.

“Why...why were you..”

“In the wolf form? I am in a rut and I can’t stay in this form for long. Just to quell your doubt, I transformed.” Saying this, he changed back again, right in front of my eyes. I gasped again.

“Come to bed,” he commanded. My skin prickled at that. He prowled towards me, until he had invaded my personal space while I stood there, numb. “Come to bed so that we can bond. So that I can make you mine. You are here for that, aren’t you? The sacrifice for the sake of peace. Fulfil that role then.” His words had degrading implications, but they were true, weren’t they. I knew this was what it would lead to. I was to be mistress, I was to relieve his sexual hunger so that no other unmarried, unmated girl would have to do that.

It wasn’t until I felt a clawed thumb brush against my cheek that I realised I was crying. “Your tears won’t melt my dead heart, pup.” I pushed away his hand. If this was to be my fate then I had no other choice but to accept it, that’s what I have been doing. I steeled my heart and walked towards the bed.

A few moments later, after I lay down, he joined me. This time, I let go of my inhibitions. My heart would never be his anyway, but I had nowhere else to go, no one else would accept me, not even my own mate if I had one. His pointed canines grazed my neck, making me shudder. His clawed fingers pulled and pinched my nipples through the fabric of my gown, making them painfully erect. A moan slipped out of my lips, unbidden. I hissed when his teeth pricked the skin, and slowly sunk in as he ground against my hips. I clutched the bed sheets tightly as he licked the column of my neck before his teeth tore the gown. I laid bare in front of him, for his taking, a sacrifice, a piece of flesh.

I shivered as his tongue swirled around my left nipple before switching. No words were spoken as he parted my thighs, settling between them. He discarded the shredded gown and nuzzled the most intimate part of me and my traitorous body reacted to it. “Your body is honest,” he murmured before I felt his tongue on me. I cried out, feeling both pleasure and humiliation, feeling aroused and ashamed. I turned my head and muffled my cries as he feasted on me.

And then I felt a blunt nudge. A scream ripped out of my mouth, echoing in the silent room as he entered me slowly. Tears streamed down my cheeks while he moved and set a rhythmic pace. I sobbed as I endured the pain, cried as I felt pleasure building in my belly and whimpered when he released inside me. By the time he was done, I felt drained. I shut my eyes, making a futile attempt to shut myself from this horrid reality.

  • Alpha Isaac   Epilogue

[Kathryn]“Do not exert yourself. Keep letting Isleen heal you a little every day,” Ayeshna says sternly as the three of us sit in her small chamber. She briefly smiles at Isleen before flickering her gaze at Isaac. “And Alpha Isaac, since you have more than one wolf and one of them is severely weak, try to get into fewer fights and don’t even try to transform into either wolf for at least a month. As the Shadow Pack’s doctor and Kathryn’s former colleague, I wouldn’t want you to bring my name down.” Although the last words were said in jest, Isaac nods somberly. He has been like that, a lot milder than he used to be. “He will, doc,” Isleen chirps from where she perches on her father’s lap. Although she was big enough now, to Isaac, she was his pup whom he wanted to spoil and indulge, giving her whatever he couldn’t for the past five years. Isaac lightly tickles her before pecking at the top of her head. Isleen giggles delightfully, but doesn’t squirm out of his hold. My lips tip u

  • Alpha Isaac   64. The Unthinkable Reunion

[Kathryn]I watch, bewildered, as Isleen begins the healing process. Isaac tries to move his hand, but her grip only tightens. “Honey-” I try to protest because she is still so weak. She can barely keep her eyes open. Isaac glances at me, panicked. What if we lose her in the process? Astrid whines woefully, “Can’t…” Isleen mumbles as she places her free hand on top of Isaac’s.“I am sure Clement will hold out till you get well, sweetheart,” Isaac says softly, but I can hear the desperation in his tone. I need to think fast because Isleen is hellbent on saving Clement. “Honey… I.. I am like you. Mom can heal as well. Let me heal papa for the while and when you get better, you can do the rest,” I babble, hoping she will give in. I can heal him, but Isleen is already stronger as a healer. She can sense wolves, and locate injuries better than I did at her age. Hell, I didn’t even know I was a white wolf. Isleen is far more mature for her age, smarter and wiser, and I am not even being

  • Alpha Isaac   63. A Flicker of Hope

[Isaac]When I woke up, the first thing I felt was a deep, yawning, and painful emptiness, and Dyson’s mourning silence. For a moment, I had thought that I was back in the past where one of my wolves was subdued, so much so that I had initially thought that he was gone for good, but then I remembered the events, of me killing that witch, of her revealing the deadly curse breaker that she had formulated, and then Clement….Kathryn….Her and Isleen’s thoughts made me stumble out of bed, rip the IV off my arm and stagger out of the unfamiliar room into an even more unfamiliar corridor. When I managed to find my mate’s room-“What the fuck are you doing out here? Go back and take a rest,” I heard the voice of the man I did not want to at the moment.Caius Tenebris. It was when I saw Caius, my restraint almost snapped. I almost pounced on him, and would have probably fought at the sight of him in my mate’s room, had Harmony and the doctor not intervened. “Calm down, Isaac. You are injured

  • Alpha Isaac   62. Grieving

[Kathryn]‘Kathy, wake up,’ Astrid’s voice fills my mind but it sounds distant still. ‘You need to wake up,’ she says again. Why does she sound so…hurt?I want to open my eyes but it feels as if I can’t. ‘We are mostly healed. Try and wake up. Please,’ her voice sounds so urgent. I try as she suggested and after some time, my eyes blink open. I am familiar with the white walls, and the sterile smell, but what gnaws at me is the pain and a certain emptiness. My heart stutters as a horrible thought engulfs my mind. “Isaac…” I croak out. “Thank the fucking Goddess,” I hear a familiar voice. I turn towards the source and spot Caius walking up to my bedside, looking tired. “Where’s..?”“Oh stop taking that moron’s name,” he interjects, annoyed, but I don’t miss the worry lines that form at the edges of his lips. I stare at my stomach and notice that it has been bandaged. “What?...” I feel confused because why am I…Oh….The memories gush back as if a floodgate has been opened. Isl

  • Alpha Isaac   61. A Sacrifice is Made

[warning: violence and gore]IsaacWatching Kathryn slowly collapse and her pain lancing through my body is the last straw. Why did I not take a stance before Zephyr harmed my mate? Why did I stand still, like an imbecile, when I should have protected them? I should have taken charge beforehand. But I let the guilt take a backseat as searing pain and anger courses through my body. I lunge towards her, a pained growl ripping through my lips. She collapses in my arms, a dead weight. I don’t dare to remove the dagger, but seeing her so pale and her lips turning blue, I carefully lay her on the floor and then shift my angry gaze towards Zephyr. ‘She deserves to die.’ Clement and Dyson snarl together. They take rein together, combining their powers. Zephyr smirks and steps away from Isleen. “Ah, so you can even transform into both of your wolves now.”It’s a struggle to keep them both in charge. I pounce at her but she teleports to another place. “I am here,” she calls from behind. D

  • Alpha Isaac   60. A Sadistic Choice

KathrynMy blood is pounding in my ears as Felice continues to unravel her true self. When I met the woman, I had never thought that the woman who made Isaac believe that she was a well-wisher scares me. I glance at my mate’s ashened face. Then my gaze flickers to Felice… no Zephyr's lips curve up further. My attention shifts to my daughter, blissfully oblivious to the chaos. Only if Isleen had her wolf. Astrid could communicate. Astrid would find a way, but she is only a child. A gullible child. I blink back the tears that threaten to fall. I can’t show my weakness in front of this witch. I glower at her as she pleasantly looks back, no doubt taking a sadistic pleasure from watching us suffer. Isaac has put up his mental block again so that I can neither feel nor hear his thoughts. I don’t have the capability to keep up mine, not at this time. But I am sure that he is tearing himself apart inwardly and that makes me want to kill this woman this instant. When my gaze flickers back t
