Chapter 18 | Celeste

I woke up with my nose buried in the wet forest floor, with dead leaves sticking out of my hair. My brain was all fuzzy until I realized I was stark naked.

Shit!

Pushing my palms into the ground, I bounced up on my feet and crossed my arms to rest my hands on the shoulders before looking around. It was cold and dark. I was typically terrified of such thick woods at the dead of the night.

Not today. With my enhanced night vision and the full moon's beams filtering through the tree canopies, the dark didn't bother me.

'Hi, Kiki.'

A loud, high-pitched cry left my lips when I heard someone's voice calling my name. Must be a female ghost.

There was no one around me, and it completely spooked me out. I moved away from the giant oak tree and looked up in fear. Benji and I loved watching horror movies, and every scary scene was playing out in my mind right now.

'Don't panic. We finally meet.'
