Chapter 3/ mate

Darlings POV

The crowd parted as the familiar face of Oberon and the tall thin blonde attached to his side made their way towards us. My stomach drops when I see Nolan walking behind him. “Kazan Blackwood. You naughty boy. If it’s a whore you seek, let me get you a better one than her,” Oberon smiles at him. My hand squeezed his and his thumb over my knuckles in a calming way.

“Ophelia, come now we’re leaving,” Kazan said to a young girl about my age. She’s tall, thin and has short brown hair. Her dress isn’t fancy like the others. It's black silk dress not as exposed as mine but pretty tight.

“I’m afraid this whore isn’t going anywhere,” Oberon tells Kazan and his grip tightens around my hand. “Call her a whore one more time and swear to fucks Oberon I’ll take you limb from limb,”

Oberon raises his eyebrow. “I am not calling her anything out of her name Kazan. She’s slept with half the men in this room. Her father will tell you,” Oberon nods to Nolan.

“It’s true your majesty. My daughter has been sleeping with men for money,” Nolan tells Kazan and my mouth drops.

The nerve of Nolan I swear.

“She even wanted me to cheat on my fiancé and when I refused she must have tried to move on to the next victim, you,” Oberon shakes his head.

Kazan’s grip slowly loosened and his hand fell from mine. I glanced over at him and his jaw was set and his fists were clenched at his sides.

“Is it true?” He asked.

“Let me explain….”

“Answer the fucking question. Is it TRUE,” He roars. I didn’t say anything, just stared at him.

“It’s true. She’s even slept with six men in one night,” Oberon shames me. Tears were running down my face but I had yet to move my eyes from Kazan or say a word.

“She’s a pretty good fuck for the money but I’ll warn you she’s dry as a bone bring some lube,” one of the me. Laughed and the crowd started laughing with him. My cheeks heated up and more wetness flowed down my face.

“Her eyes get more wet than her pussy,” another one laughed.

“ENOUGH!” Kazan roared so loud I swear the floor beneath my feet vibrated.

“Ophelia,” Kazan nodded to her and she walked towards us and Kazan turned to me, grabbed my wrist and yanked me into his chest. “Think you can pull a fast one on me? We will see about that,” He starts pulling me towards the exit.

“My daughter isn’t free,” Nolan says and Kazan stops walking.

“How much?” My lips parted but no words came out. What the hell does my father think he’s doing and what does Kazan think he can just buy me?

“Two million,” Nolan tells him.

“Done,”

He once again resumes walking until we’re in the parking lot.

“What the hell was that all about?” Ophelia asked him but he never answered. Just kept walking in the parking lot. He stops in front a black on black mustang he yanks open the door and Ophelia climbs in the back.

“Get in,”

I shook my head “No” and he grabbed my face and pulled me closer towards him. “I own you now so get in or face the consequences,”

“Please, just get in,” Ophelia said and my eyes left his and he released my face and I climbed inside the car.

I never said a word as he beat the steering wheel and drove so fast down bending roads just sat there as quietly as I could.

My eyes widened as I saw a sharp bend coming up in front of us. A gasp left my lips and my hand reached out to his forearm and held it tightly. He never jerked away, just let me hold him. My eyes drifted to his and the look of anger was written all over him and his eyes fell on my hand so I moved it.

Twenty more minutes passed and I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to explain.

“Kazan, I…”

“You don’t get to say my fucking name,”

My mouth closed as tears peaked in the corner of my eyes.

“Kazan, let her talk,”

“Stay out of this Ophelia, it’s none of your fucking business,” he growled and she shut up.

“If you would just let me explain,”

“Explain? I don’t want a fucking explanation I want to hear it from you. Did you or did you not fuck all those men?” He screams at me and I flinch. Why can’t I stop crying? Why do I care what he thinks about me? We just met and yes I’ve heard stories about wolves and mates but never really met a wolf in person.

“Answer me,” He growls when I stay silent.

“Yes,” I whispered. He drives even faster and hits the side window and it shatters instantly. Blood pours from his hand.

“Oh my god your bleeding,” I say and try to touch him but he glares at me and I stop.

“Yes I slept with those men and I’m sorry I’m so fucking sorry if you let me explain you will understand why I did it I swear I….”

“I don’t want to fucking hear it and if you know what’s good for you you will shut the fuck up,” he screams.

“I’m sorry,”

“Shut up,” he growls and jerks the wheel causing us to flip flop.

“Please, be quiet,” Ophelia asked and I did. I never spoke, only cried silently.

The car pulled up to a run away where a private jet sat. They climbed out and I followed behind them. Why didn’t I try to make a run for it? Werewolves are fast, strong and have great senses. It's no use not anymore anyway.

I walked up the steps of the jet. This is the first time I’ve ever been on a plane of any kind. Ophelia sat down on the seat on the outer edge. Kazan walked into a door towards the back of the plane so I took the window seat next to Ophelia.

“What was your name? I’m sorry but with everything that happened I forgot to ask,” Ophelia apologizes.

“Darling Kate Lewis,”

“Darling? Really?”

I nod my head. She purses her lips and leans in.

“My brother isn’t a bad guy but he does have a temper. My suggestion to you would be when he’s like this it’s always best to answer his questions and stay quiet until he calms down. I’m sorry for what happened to you at the party, it must have been very painful having all your infidelities come out like they did.”

“It doesn’t matter.” I whispered to her and gazed out the window. I leaned my head against the cool side of the plane. I was tired. I have not slept in a few days with all the men Nolan had me sleep with. I just didn’t feel safe to sleep in my own home and it started to hit me hard. Now my eyes are so heavy I can’t keep them open no matter how hard I try not to fall asleep but I fell into the darkness of the abyss falling deeper and deeper until the black hole consumes me.

“Yes, but you don’t know what made her do that. She doesn’t seem like she would just sleep around for fun,”

I groaned at the voices. I wish they would stop so I could sleep. That voice is familiar.

“You don’t know that. I’ve asked Sam to look into it and it’s true she’s the magic lands whore,”

“Kazan,” Ophelia said.

“If a whore is what she wants to be than a whore she shall be,”

I couldn’t speak. I was being sucked back into the abyss of darkness.
