Phoenix’s POV:

We stood outside the door and heard it all. I kept feeling goosebumps all around my skin. I can only imagine how Mr. and Mrs. Heller must be feeling. They were so impressed by Layla’s innocence that they couldn’t believe she was capable of something like that.

"She planned it all. She must have told Jill to tell her when I try to seduce him." Layla started crying and yammering without making much sense. I bet she didn’t even hear herself talk, or she would have understood that what she was saying was complete bullshit. Aramis turned to the closet and grabbed a dress to throw on her face. She slid into the dress in a hurry while Aramis kept looking away from her.

"You stole the potion," he yelled at her once she had worn a dress.

"What? I don’t know what you are talking about," she said, shaking her head and hugging herself when responding to Aramis.

"You are the reason I lost my Phoenix. I suffered because of you, and then you went ahead to scare my kids." Aramis lunge
