Chap-3*Nasty Like Her Mother

“Huh! I have told him million times that a rouge’s daughter will always be a rouge. She will scar his reputation someday but he never listened to me,” Tessa was growling and hitting my head repeatedly after she had blasted the bomb on me. It had been a few hours that I passed out after getting the news and woke up way later to her scolding me again.

I am pregnant?

“Just wait till I tell your father how big of a nasty dirt you are to his name,” she grabbed the test to sprint out and tell dad everything. For a moment, I couldn’t decide if I should follow her and beg her to not do that or just tell her some crazy story about how I got pregnant?

“Please wait!” I almost tripped on the table, rushing before her and closing the door to block her from leaving, “please don’t do this. Dad has always loved me and supported me, he will be so disappointed, please!” I begged when her eyes glare at me for preventing her from leaving.

I had to do anything to make her stop telling dad, I would never be able to look him in the eye and tell him that I am his pride again.

“Please! I will do anything,” as my palms met before her, the harsh look from her face softened. A little smirk on her lips and I knew she was considering it already.

“Anything you say?” she steadily folded her arms on her chest, tilting her face to make me say it again.

“Anything!” I added to convince her, which I was able to but under what conditions, I didn’t know yet.

“Fine then, you will go downstairs and tell your father right now that you don’t want to be the Alpha of this pack. You want Roxanne to be crowned as the one,” she told me what I had to do and my jaw met the floor.

That had been my wish, my dream, ever since I started understanding things, I wanted to be the alpha of our pack. I have craved for nothing more than making the members of the pack realize that a rouge could be a queen too.

I wanted to change things for rouge strippers, I wanted them to be respected but one mistake from me is going to rip every opportunity from me.

“You get to decide because I am pretty sure your dad will be waiting to hear his unmarried daughter got pregnant. Do you want me to remind you of the basic rules of our pack? No pregnancy until you have mated and marked by your one true mate,” she hunched over only so that she can whisper those words to my ears.

This woman was a mother and I was just a teenager going through something that was too much for my age and instead of giving me a hug and comforting me, she was using my situation for her benefit.

“I will tell d—ad,” I nodded, holding the tears back because even if I bleed before her, she will never feel my pain.

“Good decision,” she bobbed her head and gently pushed me to the side so that she can open the door for me.

I could only remember crying for my mother until I turned 10 and started hearing my wolf speak to me. I thought I was secured and no harm would ever come my way anymore. I was proven wrong today, if it was my mother instead of her, she would have kept me safe and made sure to handle the situation carefully.

I walked out of the door and followed my stepmother, who was happily swinging her shoulders and enjoying it to be a moment she had been waiting for. I knew she had always waited for me to slip up and I gave her a chance; all my fault.

“Honey!” she reached dad, who was watching TV alone in the living room. Tessa pleasantly kissed his forehead and then sat down beside him, watching me with an evil smirk on her lips, “Octavia over here wants to say something,” she introduced me to my dad, who turned the TV off to pay full attention to me.

‘We don’t deserve his respect and love, we have let him down,’ Icy spoke, I could hear her whimpering silently.

“I wanted to talk about the coronation ceremony,” I was fidgeting with my fingers, feeling sick and emotional. I should be resting and consuming some food, my energy was very low and she was making me do all that.

“Oh! I am glad you brought it up. I was going to speak to you about it. You can make a list of friends who will be beside you when the ceremony starts,” he said before I could say anything, Tessa didn’t like to hear about my coronation.

It was my father’s idea, he wanted me to be the Alpha of the pack instead of Roxanne because he trusted me more than her.

“Actually,” I cleared my throat, “I wanted to say that I cannot take this responsibility at all,” those words from me swept the smile off of my dear dad’s face.

“I have come to the realization that I want to study and umm, and I want to ---,” I kept stuttering because of the disappointment in my father’s eyes.

“Basically, she told me that she wants to study the affairs of the packs and maybe someday become an assistant of the werewolf counselors,” she lied to help me with the way out of this mess.

“And it’s actually a good idea because think about it, the werewolf counselor is a huge department and we need someone from our pack to be a part of it. Imagine one day she becomes a promoted member? And I would have loved to send Roxanne there but you know she is very weak when it comes to studying but Octavia is good at everything,” Tessa was bragging about how good I am now that she wanted me gone.

Sending me to the counselor? I didn’t know she was going to choose that option for me. Studying in the counselor was like giving up on everything I love doing, the freedom, and then what about this baby?

“I don’t know what to say,” Dad sighed, stealing eyes from me, “Whatever you want,” the disappointment in his tone quivered my lips, I wanted to cry and apologize for squashing all his hopes under my pregnant foot.

“Hey!” Roxanne’s arrival back home actually changed the mood and diverted the attention to her.

“My daughter is here, should we tell her the good news?” Tessa got up on her feet and hugged her daughter, who looked clueless. Roxanne had just returned home after having dinner with her friends and honestly, I was now a bit jealous of how happy and carefree she looked.

“Tell me what?” She asked, her mother very sneakily pushed me out, and eventually, I was standing far away from the family like an outsider and this was the first time that my father didn’t ask me to join them.

“Before you guys tell me something, I have good news for you all,” she dropped her bag on the couch and giggled, “I have found my mate!”

Her words met with cheers from them and my poor wolf kept whimpering alone.
