AMY'S POV

"I promise, you have nothing to be scared of. Dr. Rayna is the best healer in Crystalline. Not only a healer, Dr. Rayna was the top of the class in medical school."

"I know you wouldn't settle for less than the best." It was true. Liam would never choose something if it wasn't the best.

"I'm glad you know that. So, you'll do it?" We had returned to Crystalline yesterday, and he had already scheduled my surgery for yesterday, but I convinced him that he didn't need to do that. I wanted him to move it to the next week, but he wasn't having it.

"You're only going to be delaying the inevitable." Was his only response.

"I just feel like it's unnecessary. I can see quite well now." Except for the sudden dizziness that would occur if I looked at the same spot for too long or the occasional blurriness, I was fine. I hid it well from him, or else he would have dragged me to the operating room.

"You're fooling no one, baby. I know you sometimes still have spells." Damn his su

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY

AMY'S POV Months flew by, and before I knew it, I was almost at the end of my training. I honestly didn't know where the time went, but I was grateful for it. Grace and I had a few altercations, but I showed her that I was not easily intimidated. There was a time when she came up to me after one of my training sessions. I had been too tired to even move. She strutted in like she owned the place. She kept walking until she was right in front of me, towering over my tired figure. "See how good you look down there, below me? That's where you belong. Make sure you stay down there, fucking omega bitch." Like every time I was called a bitch, it hurt, but I was too tired to even retaliate, so I left her alone. Unfortunately for her, she didn't know there was a camera in there. I didn't even have to retaliate before Liam did. He sent her to the basement for three good days. When she emerged, she looked like a shadow of herself. There was something different about her, like there was a

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE

LIAM'S POV I was in the middle of an important meeting when my personal phone buzzed loudly, diverting the attention of everyone in the meeting. My first thought was that there was a new development with Grace. So far, there's been no report of her and Amy having a fallout. Withdrawing her access was working better than I thought. As a result of the fallout with the Alphas, I was transporting as much as twice the good I was handling before. It was not a problem for me, as I had willing customers and suppliers, but moving too much product like that would bring nothing but trouble. Anything could go wrong, and I would end up with millions in losses. I had been contemplating putting another Alpha to handle the part, but I haven't decided anything yet. Everyone paused as the buzzing persisted. I frowned and picked up the phone. My heart rate spiked when I noticed that it was my wife's name that popped up, and then I relaxed with the assurance that it couldn't be anything serious sin

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT

AMY'S POV A month into my training, and I could already tell that there was a vast difference in the way my body works. I was much more reflexive now. Just two days ago, I had caught a cup that had slid from a maid's hand. It was one of my feel-good moments. Even my wolf seemed to be getting stronger. My senses were getting stronger, and I knew it was thanks to the hard-core training. Jay and I were meeting almost every day, with Sundays being excluded. I could swear we were growing closer. After the first day of our hardcore exercise, she eased up on me just the tiniest bit. "If you keep reverting to incorrect positions, you're going to end up building muscle instead of just working on the one you already have. Do you want to gain more muscle, Luna?" She was respectful and polite without being a lickass. Her corrections were firm without making me feel stupid. "Your punches are getting better. With a little more practice, you would be able to hurt a fly." She smirked, and I t

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN

AMY'S POV "The Alpha is back earlier than usual. I wonder if something has happened." I heard a maid say as I stepped downstairs. I hurry down to find Liam already in the living room. He unbuckled his cuff as he walked. He was angry. That was the first thing that came to mind. I quickly thought about all the things that could have made him so angry that he came home earlier than usual. Without another word, I waited on the stairs and waited for him to get to my level. He took my hand in his and pulled me with him to our bedroom. "Liam, did something happen? You're usually never home at this time." "I did promise to come home after my meeting, and it went quicker than I expected. You would prefer if I didn't come home earlier?" "Of course not, anytime I spend with you is a gift." I said sweetly, and he raised an eyebrow in question. "Is there anything that happened today that you would like to share with me?" I know what he was driving at, but I was determined not to give him

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX

AMY'S POV I sat on the kitchen counter, watching Nonna cook, at least that's what I'm telling myself. In reality, I'm staring out into space. "Why are you so moody, Luna?" I was glad that she was getting free enough to ask me questions like that. "Nothing." I shot her a sweet smile. "You better take a good look at my face now. I'm going to be very busy as of next week." "Busy is good for you." She nodded slowly. "It makes you sharper and more aware." "It's okay to admit that you're going to miss me." "Are you going out of town?" "No, but..." "I think I'm going to be fine." She said sassily. Like I said, she was getting free. The oven pinged, and she went over to it. My own phone buzzed beside me, and I hopped off the counter to answer my phone. I didn't bother to look at the caller ID. Only two people called me, Maddy and Liam. It would be three if I counted Rita and his other secretaries. Just like I predicted, it was my husband calling. "Hello, husband." I purred seduct

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE

AMY'S POV "I was scared." I mumbled, and he brought me into his arms again. "What were you scared of?" "You will think it's stupid." I mumbled. Even I thought it was stupid, now. When did I become such a wuss? "I won't think it's stupid. Nothing about you will ever be stupid." He assured me. "Tell me, baby." I woke up this morning, and I didn't need to be told that I was in heat. Since wolves no longer had to choose their mates, the concept of being in heat was slowly fading out. I guess that didn't include Alphas and Lunas. I thought it was best to sleep it off since the only person that could possibly ease this ache was at work, and I didn't want to be one of those needy women. The sleep was a mistake because I woke up in horror barely twenty minutes later from a dream that felt too real to be a dream. In the dream, my heat had escalated to the point that I was going feral. Liam was literally two minutes away from me when he got hit by a car. I had barely processed the dre
