Darius:

From the shadows of the trees, I watched her.

While I was here, supposedly watching Claire crumble, I found myself watching her.

The way she helped everyone, the way she walked around like she owned a spot. Everyone kept respecting her. Those eyes. If she wants the trailer, well, maybe she was alpha. Blood did run through her veins, I could feel it.

The way she moved through the courtyard, head high, calm, giving quiet, precise orders while everyone else panicked. The way she kept her hand firm on Claire’s shoulder, even as blood pooled under her skirt.

She was striking in a way that surprised even me. And I, for one, was not easily surprised.

She wasn’t just beautiful... it was not just how she looked. No…

She was dangerous, compelling, intriguing, and I found myself wanting to see more.

She froze once. Her head turned, her sharp eyes scanning the tree line, landing right where I stood.

Ah.

So she could feel me.

She caught my eye.

A slow smirk tugged at the corner of my lips

  • Alpha Liam   Chapter 48

Amelia:“Your fever has dropped after the medication, but you need to allow yourself to recover, Luna. What you are doing is not going to help you. The nurses are telling you to rest, everyone is telling you to rest, and yet you are refusing to do so.” I said gently.I wrung the damp cloth in my hands until water dripped onto the marble floor. My fingers trembled as I pressed it to Claire’s forehead. It was a habit that she had on a daily basis when the Alpha was not here for me to take care of her, to cool her body down, to help her relax. But now it was worse.“How can I sit and recover when another woman, a beauty, seems to appear in his life on a daily basis? It seems to me that just closing my eyes might risk everything. He doesn't even want to sit in my presence, let alone share a bed with me. I do not know who he engages with that night. I do not even know where he goes when he is not in the house.” She said, looking away from me.“He might have a lot of women around him, but i

  • Alpha Liam   Chapter 47

Liam:I could still taste her.I could still see the fire that was in her eyes when she looked down me.Still feel the imprint of her lips on mine. Still feel the press of her hands against my chest, not to push me away, but to hold on.And then it was gone.Alaria’s warmth vanished like it never belonged, her voice sharp as a dagger as she whispered, “This was a mistake.”But the fire she’d poured into that kiss said otherwise. It showed and told me everything that she was trying to hide. It was not just her trying to disappear in something, she was giving in. Her body was giving in to me. Just as I was giving in to her.I didn’t stop her when she stepped back. I couldn’t. Because if I did, I wasn’t sure what I’d do next, drag her closer? Kiss her again?Maybe I would’ve.Hell, maybe I still wanted to.And I knew that if it wasn't for Kai, things would have escalated. We would have given in to the heat that the two of us have been ignoring for so long. The lusts and the longing, our b

Alaria:I was shaking. Not from fear. Not from grief. From pure, unfiltered rage. And that was not something that I liked about myself. To be angry, to be raging, to look at myself like I was less. I hated it. And I knew that the big part about it, the worst part about it was the fact that he was the reason…I stormed down the garden path, barely registering the way gravel cracked beneath my boots or how the wind whipped my hair around my face. I did not even look at the pack members who looked at me, surprised to see me and annoyed angry or even raging, I was rarely ever seen that way. The woman who was always controlled, the woman who always had everything together and now seemed to be walking, fighting the urge to scream at everything that passed in her way.My fists clenched so tight my nails dug into my palms. If I didn’t move, if I didn’t get away from everything, I was going to do something that I knew that I was going to regret. But of course, Liam had other plans. He did not

Liam:“With Darius being closely sighted around the pack, we are going to need to be careful.” I told Kai who nodded.“Yes. I already informed the men. They are going to keep an eye out because the last thing that we are going to need is for him to intervene or to get closer to anyone around. I don't even understand how he's getting the guts to keep roaming around here. But at this point we are not going to ask any questions. A man like him has no moral. He has only one goal and that goal is to destroy.” Kai said, and I nodded.“And that is why we are going to put a stop to him. If anyone sees him, you are not going to kill him. You bring him to me, I'm going to be the one to deal with him. Once that is done, I'm going to teach him in every other regard lesson. I've not to cross me, not to cross the pack, and not to try getting closer. But first, keep an eye out. I want to see if he's dealing with anyone from within.” I said, and he frowned.“You're suspecting that someone could be be

Alaria:Sienna stood quietly by the edge of the courtyard, speaking to one of the healers. I caught sight of her as I came down the stairs from the east wing. She looked better, stronger. The bruises that once lined her arms had faded into faint shadows of what had been, and her expression, though guarded, carried more life than when we first found her.I walked over, offering a soft nod as she turned to me.“Sienna,” I greeted. “I didn’t expect to see you up on your feet just yet. You still need to recover. It's not easy for you after what you've been through.”She returned the gesture politely. “Good morning, Lady Alaria. I was feeling the need to walk around, but I also didn't know whether or not I would be allowed to go out and I did not want to trespass, but I also couldn't stay for a very long time. I am that kind. I cannot just sit and not do anything.”I hummed in response, understanding her perfectly. If anything, I was the same, but then again, it was because of the way that

  • Alpha Liam   Chapter 43

Darius:I hadn’t intended to run into her here. In fact, the supermarket was the last place I expected to find someone like her.Hell, I didn't even know what I was actually doing here, aside from the fact that I initially wanted an energy drink. But there she was.Alaria.Hair pulled back into a loose braid, no trace of makeup on her face, a quiet focus to her as she pushed the cart forward. She was studying labels like they held secrets, like she needed to know every detail before making a decision. She didn’t notice me at first. She reached for something on the top shelf, arms stretched up, fingers brushing the edge of the box, but not quite reaching it. She stepped onto the tips of her toes, still too short. I smirked, the woman catching my attention in a way that she shouldn't have, at least in my opinion.I was beside her before I had time to think about what I was doing.“Let me,” I said smoothly.“Oh, you don't have to, I can just ask an employee. Thank you.”“Well, you could
