I could only watch quietly as he spoke to me like I was someone beneath him. And when he was done, I could only swallow my pride and humble my tone.

“What did you want?” he demanded. “Why did you come to find me? Didn’t I tell you to remain at your tower?”

I bowed my head, seething in rage. Nobody had ever humiliated me the way Logan consistently did.
