First Person's Perspective: Alpha Lucas’s POV

The soft echoes of my footsteps filled the quiet hallway as I walked toward Miracle’s bedroom. My thoughts were heavy, weighed down by the events of the day. Laura’s sudden appearance had sent ripples through the pack, but none more so than through Miracle, the little girl who had only known her as a faint memory. I needed to see her, to make sure she was all right.

As I neared her door, an uneasy sensation crept over me. The space outside her room was eerily empty. Where were the guards? I had assigned four—two in front of the door and two patrolling the hallway—specifically to ensure her safety. My instincts flared, sharp and unrelenting.

“Marcus?” I called through the mind link, my voice laced with urgency. There was no response. My unease deepened. “Simone, report to Miracle’s room immediately,” I ordered, this time using a firmer tone.

I pushed open the door, my heart pounding with a mixture of fear and frustration. Relief flooded thr

First Person's Perspective – Enise's POVI sprang to my feet, my heart in my mouth as I stared at Lucian, unable to comprehend the words that had just left his mouth. He looked like he had just delivered the most casual announcement, but the words hit me like a cold slap to the face. “What did you say?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, but it cracked under the weight of his revelation.Lucian didn’t seem to care about my confusion. He stood, his expression serious, yet tinged with something dark and triumphant. “The plan was always clear,” he said, folding his arms across his chest, his eyes narrowing as he continued, “Take everything from Lucas, ruin his life, and then…” He leaned in closer, the sinister edge in his voice unmistakable, “end him.”My breath caught in my throat, and I could feel my legs wobble beneath me. No. This couldn’t be what I agreed to. This wasn’t the plan at all. “No,” I whispered, shaking my head furiously. “No, no, no. Lucian, that wasn’t part of th

First Person's Perspective – Enise's POVThe warm glow of the afternoon sun filtered through the windows as we stepped back into the mansion. Miracle darted inside, her face lit with excitement. She couldn’t stop talking about the trip, her words tumbling over each other as she recounted every detail.“Daddy, remember when you fell into the pool?” Miracle giggled, looking up at Lucas with a mischievous grin.Lucas chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “I didn’t fall. I was…testing the water.”Miracle’s laughter echoed through the hall as I smirked. “Sure you were.”We moved into the living room, where Lucas sank onto the couch with a satisfied sigh. I joined him, sitting at the opposite end. Miracle plopped down in the middle, still chattering.“That was the best vacation ever! Can we go again? Maybe next time we can swim with dolphins or ride horses!”“We’ll see, sweetheart,” Lucas said, ruffling her hair.Eventually, Miracle’s boundless energy began to wane, and the housekeeper ca

First Person's Perspective – Enise's POVThe morning sunlight streamed through the windows as Miracle skipped into the living room, her face beaming with excitement. She jumped onto the couch beside me, clutching her drawing of a big house by the beach.“Doctor Denise!” she chirped, holding up her masterpiece. “Look! I drew this because I think we should go on vacation! Just us! Like a real family!”Her enthusiasm was contagious, and I couldn’t help but smile as I studied her drawing. The house was surrounded by blue waves and palm trees, with little stick figures labeled “Me,” “Doctor Denise,” and “Daddy.”“Vacation, huh?” I said, looking at her. “That’s a great idea, Miracle. Where would you like to go?”She clapped her hands, her eyes sparkling. “Somewhere fun! With water and animals and lots of sunshine!”I reached over, pulling her into a hug. “Well, if that’s what you want, I’ll do my best to make it happen.”Her giggles filled the room as she snuggled into me. “You’re the best,

First Person's Perspective - Enise's POVMiracle sat beside me on the couch, her small legs swinging back and forth, her hands clutched tightly in her lap. She was unusually quiet, her bright energy replaced by a heaviness that made my heart ache. I reached out, gently tucking a loose strand of her hair behind her ear.“Miracle,” I said softly, “you’ve been really quiet today. Is everything okay?”Her small shoulders rose and fell in a shrug, but she didn’t look up. Instead, she focused on the way her fingers twisted together.I leaned closer, wrapping an arm around her. “Sweetheart, you can talk to me. Whatever’s on your mind, I’m here to listen.”There was a pause, long enough to make me think she wasn’t going to say anything. Then, in a small, trembling voice, she whispered, “Why doesn’t Mommy love me?”The question hit me like a blow to the chest, and I felt my throat tighten. How do you answer something like that? How do you comfort a child who’s hurting in a way no child ever sh

First Person's Perspective - Enise's POVThe world was a blur as I struggled to hold onto consciousness. The sensation of being pulled under the cold water lingered in my body, my lungs burning and my mind spinning. Then came Miracle’s frantic screams, piercing through the haze of my mind, but I couldn’t focus. My body felt weightless and heavy all at once, like I was suspended between two worlds.Suddenly, there were hurried footsteps and loud voices. I heard splashing, and then strong arms wrapped around me.“Denise! Stay with me!” Lucas’s voice was commanding, yet there was a trace of panic in it. I could feel his hands gripping me as he pulled me out of the water.“No, Lucas, let her drown!” Laura’s voice was shrill and venomous. “She’s ruining everything for us!”Lucas didn’t even look at her. He shoved her aside roughly, his entire focus on me. Water dripped off my body as he pulled me out of the pool and onto the cold tiles. My chest heaved as I coughed and sputtered, trying to

First Person's Perspective - Enise's POVThe soft rustle of leaves and the gentle sound of water lapping against the pool's edge created a serene backdrop. I leaned back in my chair, basking in the warmth of the sun. My phone rested in my hand as I chatted with Anna, her voice a comforting constant amidst all the recent chaos.“I still can’t believe Lucas accused Laura outright,” Anna said, her tone incredulous. “It’s like he’s finally grown a spine, huh?”I chuckled softly, twirling a strand of my hair between my fingers. “It was unexpected, I’ll admit. But I can’t say I’m upset about it. Someone needed to stand up to her, and I’m glad it was him.”There was a pause on Anna’s end before her voice turned teasing. “Enise, you sound like you’re starting to like him again.”“What?” I nearly dropped my phone in shock. “Don’t be ridiculous, Anna. It’s not like that at all.”“Uh-huh,” she drawled, her tone dripping with skepticism. “Sure, keep telling yourself that. But I’ve seen the way yo
