I stared at the woman whose body quivered beneath me, feeling a certain warmth in my chest. One I didn't want to feel. “This will hurt” I whispered, my lips grazing the shell of her ear. Fuck! She smelled so good. I sinked my teeth into her neck, while increasing the speed of my thrusts. I turned her over, plunging deeper till she reached climax the second time. I could feel mine building up. I let out a deep groan of pleasure as I released my seeds deep inside her. Her body went limp and she struggled to keep her eyes open. I slung her over my shoulders and carried her to the bathroom as she muttered a string of jargons in my ear. Did she just sleep talk? My lips curled up slightly. What did I just do? The smile on my lips vanished. I had given Rina my word that I would have nothing to do with this woman. I only needed her to lift my curse. That was the only reason I agreed to this marriage. Seventeen years ago, on my eighth birthday, I had suddenly felt hot. What started as a mild discomfort escalated into a sharp burning sensation. It felt as if I was being burnt alive. Right before my eyes, the mark on my arm began to form, tearing into my skin, oozing smoke as it took shape. I had lost consciousness and when I woke up, the pack's seer confirmed it was a curse. I had been cursed. The reason? No one knew. Every year on a certain day, I would feel that same gut-wrenching pain and that day drew near. My birthday. The only people who knew that I was cursed were my parents, the seer and Micheal. My beta and best friend. Recently, upon my return to the pack, my father consulted the pack's seer who had told him that Mia, the daughter of Night shade pack's Alpha was the key to lifting my curse and making her my Luna and mating with her was the first step. I could not lose sight of my goal. I placed her on the bed and changed into my sweatshirt and pants, picked up my car key and walked out. I drove to Rina's house. Rina was my girlfriend. She was sweet, gentle, and kind. I was immediately drawn to her the moment I saw her. She had never once gotten mad, even when I informed her of my marriage to Mia. We had been together since we were in college and had promised to be chosen mates. However, Mia's appearance had complicated things. Of course, I knew my mate would appear eventually, I just didn't think I would be forced to marry her. I pulled up at Rina’s and rang the doorbell. She flew into my open arms, wrapping herself around me like a koala. She planted a wet kiss on my lips. “I didn't think you were still going to make it” she said. I sat on a sofa as she straddled me, refusing to let go. “I would not miss seeing you for anything” she giggled shyly but it slowly faded. “What?” “Does your wife know you are here?” “No and it's none of her concern. The marriage is just a formality. We're just like strangers” Her smile returned at my reassurance. I didn't tell her Mia was my mate as it was only going to make her more insecure. She kissed me and tried to take off my clothes but I stopped her and pulled her away softly. “Not tonight, Rina” I said affectionately. Her eyes clouded with tears and her voice shook. “You have never refused me. What changed?” She was right. I always looked forward to intimate moments with her. One passionate kiss from her usually had blood running where I wanted it to go. But tonight was…..different. I didn't feel a thing. “Is this because of your wife? Don't you love me anymore?” A small part of me was irritated with her unending whining. “I still love you” “Then why did you agree to marry her” “It's what the elders council wanted. You know I can't go against them, especially when I just became Alpha” Rina pouted, still not convinced. I sighed and cupped her face in my palm. “My marriage to Mia won't change anything between us. Just be patient. Everything will return to its original place soon” I wiped the tears that trickled down her cheek. “I'm tired. I need to sleep now” I stood up and headed to the room, pretending not to hear her sniffle behind me. Very early the next morning, a call from Michael woke me up. We had trained together since we were kids and he knew me better than anyone. Even my parents. His father retired early so he had taken over the beta position earlier than I had. I picked the call. “Hey man. I hate to call you on your honeymoon but this is important” His tone sounded serious and the constant whoosh of the wind signified he was out in the forest. “What is it?” I asked my expression grim. “The rogues…..they attacked again” Months ago, I received reports of rogues attacking pack members. As countermeasures, I had deployed several warriors to fight them but they kept coming. It was getting out of hand. “They have gotten more brazen. The injuries they inflicted are more fatal this time. I think you need to come” “Where are you?” I dashed out of the room. “Where are you going?” Rina asked, standing up “Something urgent came up” I said, without stopping. The rest of her words were blocked out as I slammed the door shut. I arrived at the forest, and approached Michael while other warriors searched the area. I could see signs of blood on the floor coupled with paw prints imprinted in the soil. “Six pack members were injured and their valuables stolen. They have been taken to the hospital?” “The rogues?” “We’re still looking for them” Michael said. “Any luck?” “No, but they are still around” I sighed in frustration. “How come your men can't handle a bunch of rogues? Is this the best they can do? They are becoming completely useless. From now on, Intensify their training. I'll train them personally. Also, Inform everyone, all pack member should keep their doors locked. They must not open to anyone. It's very dangerous outside” “Alright” “Keep looking and extend your search” I ordered. I was about to join in when I caught a scent I could not forget so easily. Mia.Leo:In the hotel room Amber checked into, I sat on the edge of the bed with my shirt off, Amber wiped the blood off my face. For someone who spent days torturing me, her touch was surprisingly gentle. Her brows were furrowed in concentration and I couldn't stop staring, committing every inch of her face to memory. But a part of me was puzzled. When I decided to chase after her, I knew Cedric was a strong opposition. Or so I thought. Since we entered the room, she hasn't said a word to me. It probably had to do with her break up with Cedric.I had been half conscious but I heard it clearly. He said it was over between them if she left. And yet she did. She dabbed a deep cut on my head and I hissed from the sharp, stinging pain. A crazy idea popped in my head. Maybe….just maybe she felt something for me. She looked up and caught me staring. “What?”I swallowed. ‘Are you in love with me?’But I couldn't say that out loud, scared of what her answer might be. Instead I asked, “Why
Cedric:I entered the basement where Leo was forced to his knees, his hands tied back. One of my men had suffered a few bruises on his face. Leo must have put up quite a fight. He glared at me, breathing heavily. His eyes brimmed with anger and hate. “Leave us,” I said, holding his gaze. My men left the room and I stooped low to look him in the eye. “I guess you already know who I am”He growled in response. “What do you want from me?”The next second, my fist collided with his jaw. The crack of his bone echoed across the basement. His head snapped to the side, and he spat blood on the floor. I grabbed his hair and yanked it back. “You poisoned Amber and killed my child. And then you had the guts to send her flowers” He smirked. “I see what this is about. You are scared of losing Amber to me so you're trying to get me out of the picture”My lips twitched in fury. “You have no right to say her name” “She forgave me”“I didn't” I retorted, trying to stop my wolf from breaking o
Cedric:I took the elevator down to the tenth floor. After a long, awful meeting with the stakeholders, seeing Amber was just what I needed. I fixed my tie as the elevator dinged and slid open. My eyes scanned the floor and found Amber seated by her desk. However, my smile froze when I noticed a bouquet of roses sitting on her table. What surprised me was not the flower, but the smile on her lips as she read the card attached to it. Jealousy twisted in my stomach. I approached her desk and knocked on it gently before she finally noticed I was standing there. Her smile faded into something neutral. “Cedric, hi”My eyes flicked to the roses, trying my best not to sound jealous. “Nice flowers. Who sent them?”She waved a hand dismissively. “No one important. Just a friend I haven't seen in a while”“Really”I snatched the card away from her before she could stop it. Her eyes widened and she tried to take it back.I read the message. ‘I can't stop thinking about you and I know I don
Alex:I stood by the far corner of the hospital room, my arms crossed as Aunt Freya examined my mother. The pack hospital said she collapsed due to stress but my father had Aunt Freya brought in to be certain. He stood beside her, worry lines etched on his face. After what felt like an eternity, Aunt Freya opened her eyes. “She will be fine. She only overused her strength a bit”“What for?”“I'm a witch, not a seer, Alpha Lukas. I don't know” she said with a small smile. “With rest and proper care, she will be up in no time”“Thank you, Freya,” she nodded and left the room. My mother's eyes fluttered open and she sat up. “It appears that you're fine. I'll take my leave now”“Alexander” she called weakly and beckoned me closer. I thought about it for two seconds and approached her bed. Then her gaze shifted between us. “I'm sick of you two tearing each other apart every time. You will settle your difference or else, I will never speak to either of you again. I mean it” she threate
Elsie: Seeing the pure look of panic on his face, I couldn't hold back the laughter that bubbled inside me. “I was kidding. Of course I know who you are” He let out a shaky sigh of relief. “Don't do that again. My heart can't take it if you forget me” “Alright. I'm sorry. You look so serious, I could not resist. How long have I been unconscious?” “A week” He placed his forehead on mine. “But I'm glad you are awake” My smile faded and I took a deep breath. “Alex, I have something important to tell you” He pulled back with a reassuring smile. “You don't have to. I know” My brows furrowed. “What? How?” “I felt it the moment the bond was severed. Mother told me it was the reason you lost consciousness” “Your mum knows? Oh, my God, I'm pretty sure she hates me now. I'm so sorry. I did it without thinking. God, I'm so stupid…….” “It's okay” he cut in, brushing his thumb across my cheek. “I understand why you did it and I'm not mad” “What about Daphne? Is she oka
Alex:I felt it the moment the bond severed. It felt like a part of me was being torn apart. Daphne staggered on her feet, one hand flying to her chest, her breathing rapid. My wolf thrashed around and howled in agony. I gritted my teeth, pain radiating through every nerve in my body. “What…. what just happened?” Daphne asked, her eyes wide with shock and pain. However, I wasn't listening to her. My eyes were locked on Elsie, who sat frozen on the bed, her eyes distant.Did she do this?I was going to ask but first, Daphne had to leave because she had no idea about Elsie's gift as a fate binder.I was about to turn when I noticed a thick trail of blood running down from her nose. “Elsie?” She didn't reply. Before I could reach her, her body began to jerk violently, her eyes rolled back and a choked sound escaped her throat. I grabbed her shoulder. “Elsie!”Doctors and nurses rushed in and I was pulled away from her. I fought back instinctively. “I'm sorry but if you want us t
Mia:When we returned, Kate had become totally drunk. She must have drank a lot while we were away. She lifted her groggy eyes to us, trying her best to focus. She blinked and pointed one finger at us.“Why are you both returning together? And you……” she directed the finger at me, slurring her wo
Mia: Kate and I stepped into the forest. She had once again talked me into taking a run with her. However, Nora, my wolf, was excited to break free. I could not remember the last time I let her out. The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the tree. Kate grinned, her eyes glinting
Mia:A loud knock on the door drove me out of my sleep. When I looked out the window, the sun had set. Shit! How long was I asleep for and how did I get on my bed? The last thing I remembered was dozing off in Elian's nursery. The knock became even more incessant. “Come in” Kate peeped in. “Di
Lukas:I opened my eyes slightly to see Mia in my face, fast asleep. We were both naked. Her soft, luscious breasts were pressed against my chest and her scent filled my nostrils. She moved slightly, pressing herself even more against me, a soft, sleepy whimper escaped her lips. It stirred someth
