MasukLukas:
I stared at the woman whose body quivered beneath me, feeling a certain warmth in my chest. One I didn't want to feel. “This will hurt” I whispered, my lips grazing the shell of her ear. Fuck! She smelled so good. I sinked my teeth into her neck, while increasing the speed of my thrusts. I turned her over, plunging deeper till she reached climax the second time. I could feel mine building up. I let out a deep groan of pleasure as I released my seeds deep inside her. Her body went limp and she struggled to keep her eyes open. I slung her over my shoulders and carried her to the bathroom as she muttered a string of jargons in my ear. Did she just sleep talk? My lips curled up slightly. What did I just do? The smile on my lips vanished. I had given Rina my word that I would have nothing to do with this woman. I only needed her to lift my curse. That was the only reason I agreed to this marriage. Seventeen years ago, on my eighth birthday, I had suddenly felt hot. What started as a mild discomfort escalated into a sharp burning sensation. It felt as if I was being burnt alive. Right before my eyes, the mark on my arm began to form, tearing into my skin, oozing smoke as it took shape. I had lost consciousness and when I woke up, the pack's seer confirmed it was a curse. I had been cursed. The reason? No one knew. Every year on a certain day, I would feel that same gut-wrenching pain and that day drew near. My birthday. The only people who knew that I was cursed were my parents, the seer and Micheal. My beta and best friend. Recently, upon my return to the pack, my father consulted the pack's seer who had told him that Mia, the daughter of Night shade pack's Alpha was the key to lifting my curse and making her my Luna and mating with her was the first step. I could not lose sight of my goal. I placed her on the bed and changed into my sweatshirt and pants, picked up my car key and walked out. I drove to Rina's house. Rina was my girlfriend. She was sweet, gentle, and kind. I was immediately drawn to her the moment I saw her. She had never once gotten mad, even when I informed her of my marriage to Mia. We had been together since we were in college and had promised to be chosen mates. However, Mia's appearance had complicated things. Of course, I knew my mate would appear eventually, I just didn't think I would be forced to marry her. I pulled up at Rina’s and rang the doorbell. She flew into my open arms, wrapping herself around me like a koala. She planted a wet kiss on my lips. “I didn't think you were still going to make it” she said. I sat on a sofa as she straddled me, refusing to let go. “I would not miss seeing you for anything” she giggled shyly but it slowly faded. “What?” “Does your wife know you are here?” “No and it's none of her concern. The marriage is just a formality. We're just like strangers” Her smile returned at my reassurance. I didn't tell her Mia was my mate as it was only going to make her more insecure. She kissed me and tried to take off my clothes but I stopped her and pulled her away softly. “Not tonight, Rina” I said affectionately. Her eyes clouded with tears and her voice shook. “You have never refused me. What changed?” She was right. I always looked forward to intimate moments with her. One passionate kiss from her usually had blood running where I wanted it to go. But tonight was…..different. I didn't feel a thing. “Is this because of your wife? Don't you love me anymore?” A small part of me was irritated with her unending whining. “I still love you” “Then why did you agree to marry her” “It's what the elders council wanted. You know I can't go against them, especially when I just became Alpha” Rina pouted, still not convinced. I sighed and cupped her face in my palm. “My marriage to Mia won't change anything between us. Just be patient. Everything will return to its original place soon” I wiped the tears that trickled down her cheek. “I'm tired. I need to sleep now” I stood up and headed to the room, pretending not to hear her sniffle behind me. Very early the next morning, a call from Michael woke me up. We had trained together since we were kids and he knew me better than anyone. Even my parents. His father retired early so he had taken over the beta position earlier than I had. I picked the call. “Hey man. I hate to call you on your honeymoon but this is important” His tone sounded serious and the constant whoosh of the wind signified he was out in the forest. “What is it?” I asked my expression grim. “The rogues…..they attacked again” Months ago, I received reports of rogues attacking pack members. As countermeasures, I had deployed several warriors to fight them but they kept coming. It was getting out of hand. “They have gotten more brazen. The injuries they inflicted are more fatal this time. I think you need to come” “Where are you?” I dashed out of the room. “Where are you going?” Rina asked, standing up “Something urgent came up” I said, without stopping. The rest of her words were blocked out as I slammed the door shut. I arrived at the forest, and approached Michael while other warriors searched the area. I could see signs of blood on the floor coupled with paw prints imprinted in the soil. “Six pack members were injured and their valuables stolen. They have been taken to the hospital?” “The rogues?” “We’re still looking for them” Michael said. “Any luck?” “No, but they are still around” I sighed in frustration. “How come your men can't handle a bunch of rogues? Is this the best they can do? They are becoming completely useless. From now on, Intensify their training. I'll train them personally. Also, Inform everyone, all pack member should keep their doors locked. They must not open to anyone. It's very dangerous outside” “Alright” “Keep looking and extend your search” I ordered. I was about to join in when I caught a scent I could not forget so easily. Mia.Lukas:I took one last glance at Mia who was fast asleep on the bed before shutting the door. Earlier, she was on the verge of losing control and we had to sedate her.Micheal appeared behind me, a gloomy look on his face. “The servant girl Mia brought back tried to run but we caught her before she could escape. She's currently in the cell.“You think she did this?” Kate asked incredulously.“She ran away immediately it happened. I guess that is enough answer”I headed down to my study, both of them in tow.“How could this happen under your watch?” I asked without turning to look at them. “I was distracted for a bit” he admitted, releasing a deep breath. I spun sharply. “Oh yeah. I bet you and Kate were too busy banging to realize something was going on”His expression turned fierce. “You were under strict orders to watch her closely”“You can't blame this entirely on us. It was Mia who brought in a girl who she barely knew and you allowed it. Now look where it's got us. You all
Mia:After our date, Lukas pulled up in the driveway. I was about to alight when he held my wrist in a firm but gentle grip. “What?’ “I know what you're worried about”I raised a brow. Has he found out already? “You do?”“But don’t worry. I made sure the seer won't say a word”Thank goddess. He didn't know.“You can't be sure about that”“He knows what will happen if he ever disobeys my orders. I promised to protect you and I intend to make good on that promise. No matter the cost” He whispered with such certainty that I actually believed him.Warmth spread across my chest. I reached into my purse and brought out the velvet box. “I got something for you. Open it”He took it with a smile and popped it open.“Turn it over” He did and his smile turned wider when he saw the inscriptions on it.“I had our initials engraved on it”“LM. Always and forever. Thoughtful. I love it”He leaned in, my lips brushing against his Ina gentle kiss. “I love you Mia”“I love you too”The world arou
Mia:Gathered in Lukas' study, Kate, Michael and I watched on with bated breath as the seer carefully examined his arm. The mark was gone like it was never there. “You've been silent. Aren't you going to say something?” Lukas asked, impatience dancing in his eyes.“The scar is indeed gone”“Yes. Everyone can see that. Does that mean the curse is lifted?” I held my breath, waiting for his answer.“It appears so” he replied. I released a breath of relief. I looked up to see the see the seer staring at me in suspicion. I quickly looked away. “But how could that happen? You were so certain your suggestion was the only way” Michael spoke.“Perhaps, the moon goddess has shown him mercy” I snickered inwardly. If only they knew.“Well, this was unexpected” Kate said and whispered in my ear. “Can you believe this?”I smiled as wide as I could. “I can't”“I would take my leave now” The seer bowed and left, Kate followed, then Micheal until there was only two of us left. Though I could fee
Kate:I rounded a corner to see a girl leave one of the rooms. My brows furrowed. I had never seen her before. Micheal appeared behind me.“Who is that girl?” I said, watching her back as she retreated down the hallway.“A new maid. Mia brought her back”“Do they know each other?”“I have no idea” I looked on thoughtfully till I felt Michael's eyes boring holes inside me.I crossed my arms. “What do you want?”“You” his face held a hint of a smile.I stared at him like he had just grown two heads.“You are one shameless asshole. You know that, right? You think you can just waltz back into my life like nothing happened? You walk around like everything is okay, but it's not” a bitter laugh escaped my lips. “Do you have any idea how much your rejection hurt”He opened his mouth to speak but I cut him off.“Don't. Don't say a word” My voice cracked. “I thought we cared about each other. I thought I was something to you but I was wrong. I learn that the hard way”His jaw ticked. “Kate….
Mia:My eyes fluttered open. My vision cleared up seconds later and for a while, my mind was empty, a loud ringing in my ear and the strained sound of my breathing.“Are you awake?” I turned to see Mira seated beside my bed. “What happened?” I asked. I glanced at my carefully bandaged hand where I had stabbed.I jolted up, wincing as a sharp pain shot through my head.“What about the curse? Is it broken?” I asked eagerly.Mira sighed “We don't know that yet”“Oh no. Did I mess things up?”“No. You did well. It might take a few days before we can be certain”My heart lurched painfully. “Take me back” “You are still weak. Look at yourself, you can barely stand”“Please just take me back! I want to see Lukas”Mira studied me and for a moment, I thought she would refuse. She nodded and muttered. “Okay”She took a deep breath while I closed my eyes, opening them to find myself staring at the familiar ceiling of the master bedroom. Kate hovered above me, worried.I hoisted myself up, not
Mia:I stepped out of the shower, putting on my bathrobe. Lukas was gone. He had left before I woke up.I grabbed the blow-dryer and settled before the vanity.I looked into the mirror, realizing I wasn't alone in the room. Seated on the sofa was a red head, her legs crossed, staring at me. I jerked up with a start. “Goddess, Mira! What are you doing here?”“Well, that is an odd question. I'm your master” For the past few weeks, I went through rigorous magic training, and so far it was working. Never would I have thought that one day, magic would come so easily to me. However, the only problem I had was Mira. Whenever it was time for training, she would appear at the most inconvenient time. Once, she appeared while Lukas and I were about to make love.“Haven't you heard of the word privacy?” I asked through gritted teeth and a forced smile. She grimaced. “What is that? Is it food?”I released a sharp breath, my face flushed from anger. I ignored her and went back to drying my hai
