Mia:

Thick clouds of smoke covered the sky, the scent of blood filling my lungs as I ran, several footsteps hot on my heels.

I glanced over my shoulder to see wolves behind me, their eyes glowing with fury and resentment.

They were catching up and I was slowly losing my strength.

“It's all your fault!” they yelled.

“Bloody witch!”

“Die!”

I tripped over a dried branch and fell onto a body. I looked up to see Lukas.

His blue orbs were open but there was no sign of life in them. His body was cold as ice and his shirt covered in blood.

“No!”

I jerked awake, gasping for breath. A large hand grabbed mine and I turned around to see Axel.

“Do you still have nightmares?” He whispered.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, sneakily avoiding the question. Luckily, he didn't press further.

I exhaled. “I thought we were already past this. I can't go with you”
