Lia:

The ground was cold beneath my back.

Marcel’s weight pressed me into the earth, solid and unmovable, his grip firm around my wrists as he pinned them above my head. I twisted beneath him, fought with everything I had left, but he was heavier, stronger.

Unfairly so.

And no matter how hard I tried, the man wouldn’t even budge… not even when I kicked him.

“Let me go,” I hissed, kicking uselessly. “You’ve been holding me down for the past few minutes. Either you let me go, or the two of us can actually fight for it.”

He didn’t loosen his hold, but I noticed something that made my chest stutter.

He was careful.

Every shift of his body avoided my shoulder. His hand never brushed the cut on my arm. Even now, when I was fighting him like a cornered animal, he was controlling himself.

I hated that I noticed.

I hated that my body noticed.

“And you really need to stop thinking that I am going to let you go.” He said, low and sharp.

Then he moved.

In one smooth motion, he rose and hauled me

Marcel:I hadn’t planned on going. That much was clear to both my wolf and my patience.I was still standing by the balcony doors, staring into place as I got lost in my thoughts, when Lia spoke behind me, her voice quieter than it had any right to be.“You should go.”I turned slowly, caught off guard enough that I didn’t hide it. “What?”“I mean, you should go to the mating ceremony.” She said, looking me in the eye. I frowned as I looked at her, processing what she was asking me to do before she sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.“Do you realize what you are asking, Lia?”She stood near the bed, arms folded loosely around herself, expression conflicted but steady. “You might not want to,” she continued, “but you have to. If you don’t… this won’t end well. Not for you. Not for the pack. And I know what I am saying, very well, Alpha. But you are forgetting yourself into something that would hold consequences that you will not want to hold.”I let out a short breath. “I don’t en

  • Alpha Marcel   Chapter 20

Elara:The hall was ready.Candles lined the walls, their flames steady, deliberate. Symbols of union were etched into the stone floor, old and sacred, meant to bind fate and power in one irreversible moment. Wolves filled the space, elders, warriors, allies, every seat taken, every whisper sharp with expectation. Some walked around, drinks in hand. Music, the slaves dancing… everything looked perfect. And yet…He wasn’t here.My fingers curled into the fabric of my dress as I stood beside Luna Isobel, my smile fixed so tightly my jaw ached. Every second that passed felt like a crack spreading through glass.“He should be here by now,” I whispered, leaning closer to her. “This is not… this is not how it’s supposed to go. You and I know what this means. You know that we shouldn’t have done this behind his back, force him to do it.”Luna Isobel didn’t look at me. Her gaze remained fixed on the doors. “Calm yourself. There are people watching you, and you cannot afford to have them looki

  • Alpha Marcel   Chapter 19

Lia:The steam clung to my skin as I stepped out of the bathroom, wrapped in the robe that was in the bathroom.I knew that it was a new one, a fresh one to be exact. But I didn’t know whether or not I was allowed to use it. I just knew that I wouldn’t walk out of the bathroom in nothing but a towel. For a moment, I just stood there, unsure of what I was walking into.Marcel looked up from where he stood near the balcony doors. His gaze flicked over me once, quick, assessing, and then he spoke like nothing about this situation was strange.“Your clothes are on the bed.” He said calmly.I followed his glance and saw them neatly laid out. Clean. Folded. Practical. Before I could say a word, before I could thank him or ask him any questions, he turned away from me completely and stepped out onto the balcony, his back to the room, shoulders squared toward the night.Deliberately giving me privacy. The realization unsettled me more than if he hadn’t.I looked away from him, not wanting my

  • Alpha Marcel   Chapter 18

Marcel:She was shaking when we reached my room. Not violently, but enough that I noticed the way her shoulders tensed, the way her breath hadn’t quite steadied since the forest. I closed the door behind us and moved to the sideboard, pouring water into a glass before handing it to her.“Drink, it’s just water, but it is known to be good for those who choose to run.” I said, thankful that we managed to get to the room without her being caught. “I’ll have the maids bring in something to eat in a bit. You could use something to help you regain your strength.”She hesitated, then took it. Her fingers brushed mine for half a second before she pulled back like she’d touched fire. Her heart raced against her chest, and I could tell that this wasn’t a situation that she counted for.I grabbed a blanket from the chair and draped it over her shoulders. “It will help you warm up.”Her eyes flicked up to me, suspicion sharp and immediate. But I could see her fighting back the urge to relax or ho

Marcel:The door opened.I didn’t look up at first.I already knew who I was expecting to see.The bond tugged, sharp, impatient, pulling my attention toward the threshold. I rose from behind the desk, irritation already simmering, prepared to face whatever defiance she had decided to bring with her this time.“Alpha.”It wasn’t her voice. Not that I expected it anyway.“What did she do this time?” I looked up, raising an eyebrow.Vladimir stood in the doorway, his expression tight, controlled, but there was no hiding the tension in his eyes.“She ran,” he said. For a heartbeat, the world went silent.“And they just her go?” I asked, getting up from my chair.“She slipped away again,” he continued. “This time through the gardens. She moved fast. Smarter than before. She is following instinct, I assume. But the men can’t find her.”I swore under my breath, a vicious curse tearing out of me as I shoved past him.“Of course she had.” I muttered sarcastically. “Give it to the rogue to run
