Modi gazed at him in confusion. He wanted to be angry but keeps his cool because he wanted to hear everything the priest had to say. He was upset that the priest had such information but conveniently kept it away from him all this time.

“What does that mean?”

“I saw you die in a war.” The priest lied. “I looked into the pot and I saw your death. It frightened me so much, I had to make moves to protect you.”

Modi listened in silence, his heart beating fast. He has never thought of himself as someone who could easily be killed especially since he had the priest as a part of his pack.

“Remember the Moon goddess foresaw a battle and I did show you earlier; a battle between you and your queen’s former lover. Though I didn’t see your death at the time, I did see that you would lose your queen to him. And that’s why I kept insisting you laid off the female but you insisted that you needed her.”
