ログイン“You look different,” I commented. The more I looked at him, the more I felt something inside me stirring. An excitement. Eagerness. Not certain what I am particularly looking for….but this is the alpha I am going to be partnered with starting tonight. Why did I even utter those words again?
It was just a few seconds ago that I was trying to look for the bright side of staying in this pack for now..that I have enough food that won’t keep me starved, and the members won’t harm me because they respect their alpha and since I am the alpha’s partner, they will respect me too…compared to the Silverfang pack members.
“Oh, have you already seen me before?” He said, “How different? Explain.”
I blinked, trying to recall it again but my memory was blurry. “Yes, when I was younger.” Was I wrong? Did I mistake him for somebody?
“You must have remembered wrong. I had always been handsome like this….enchanting even…” He said boastfully, “And I am not surprised you are too engrossed in me to even think of the fact that you are sent here against your wishes…”
“H-How’d you know?” That caught me off guard. I hid the disdain and all my emotions…
“I can smell it. You know alphas have strong instincts?” He said. “So, tell me your qualities that you think why we are compatible.”
We just saw each other and he’s already boasting about his skills. What an irritating first impression he’s making because clearly, I am not impressed.
“What?”
“You’re going to be my Luna. I have to know.” His words struck me like a billion hammer plunged to my chest. Of course, that is my painful doom.
His eyebrows cocked upward. He must have sensed the harsh pit in my stomach. “You just accepted me here without knowing my qualities?”
“I didn’t. What qualities are you talking about specifically, Do tell.” We looked into each other's eyes. He had this dark energy around him that I couldn't pinpoint. Intimidating, unapproachable, yet I find myself being drawn to him.
“You’re a bit daring for someone who’s heading to her doom.” He mumbled, “We both know you would rather run from here and get married to the monstrous beast like me.”
“Why would I? You have great hunt here, great territory, and most especially great food.”
He placed his hands on his heart and gave me a nod, “I feel flattered. It’s good that you are already loving my pack.”
“We’ll test tonight if we’re compatible.” Hearts both beating, eyes locked, and electricity sparking from our touch. One touch does it all.
Instantly, I could tell that the man standing in front of me was my mate. Even he was surprised by the sudden jolt of electricity. But that didn’t stop him from teasing me. As if his signal was to go further, his strong arms pushed me to a wall, engaging me with his scent.
“And what if I refuse?” I answered his daring question.
“You came here knowing danger is going to eat you alive…you seem to be overestimating yourself. Between us, I have more power to control you.”
That made me feel irritated. Controlled? Like a doll? I survived my brother’s cruelty, I think I have enough training from that. There is no way I will let anyone have their way on me.
“You’re definitely wrong about that,” I answered, standing my ground and making sure there was no faint fear that I was showing. “Once you’re charmed by me, you’ll definitely run to me with your tails folded…looking for my scent everywhere.”
“You’re a feisty one, aren’t you?” I heard that nasty comment before, it had been used as a catcall to me, to irritate me, and often to demean me, but hearing it from his mouth felt sexy. As if he’s seducing me with that deep and husky voice. He’s looking at me like a piece of meat..like an object, and yet I find myself being drawn to those eyes and being seduced by his words. Oh goodness. Have I really lost it in my head?
“You’re not shocked. You must have heard that a million times.”
“Of course, that’s part of my irresistible charm.”
He’s leaning into me…and I would normally slam his head away but this time, my body is reacting differently. I am definitely anticipating his lips landing on me. This was wrong, so wrong, I had to focus on myself and not get tangled up with him on our first night! I still have to think about my revenge!
This man straight up grabbed me by the waist and showed me his tongue skills, guiding me to a rhythm. We would pause to take a breath but still steal our breaths away while his hands roamed around me.
Just then, I heard a howl from outside, followed by the door opening, “Master, we have located the remaining pack member that escaped. Everything’s handled now.”
I paused, couldn’t help but hear the report, and looked at Creed’s expression.
He looked a bit uneasy, and waiting for my reaction. A sudden strange tension lingered, and I felt like I was not supposed to hear that.
I looked at the one who reported, who I overheard as Brix…sensing a strange coming off from him. It smells…rotten. A decaying corpse of a wolf as he looked so dirty.
I then glanced back in silence at the man that I thought Alpha Fenris was…or the man I thought that my mate was…and the sudden guilty eyes instantly told me.
One thing I know about Alphas and their pack members is how they can easily telepathically communicate, so why is this man named Brix in front of is reporting to him, looking all suspicious?
And not to mention, the smell of fire. I sniffed the surroundings, ran outside, and saw chaos.
It was pure chaos. And smells of death. I couldn’t see any other being alive here other than the three of us.
I could sense them following me behind and the realization hit me.
Right then and there, I instantly knew that this man was not Alpha Fenris.
And one thing that’s running on my head is the word….
“Rogues…..” The man, who I thought was Alpha Fenris took the word out of my lips. He sighed, “Took you long enough to find out.”
I tried to remain calm, still not grasping the full concept of everything going on around us. Wow…rogues…I am guessing that these two….are the rogues…and they are raiding this Dark Claws Pack. But one question stuck with me. How did they manage to kill the whole pack of Alpha Alpha Fenris?
He didn’t look shaken and instead, looked calm and collected, as if he expected this. My reaction.
“Are you disappointed that I am not your Alpha Fenris?”
I didn’t care about that fact, irritatingly. All I’m thinking is…how? “No…how did you…” My mixed emotions were getting the best of me, and what bothered me was that I was not even scared of him at all. In fact, I am amazed at how did managed to do it. I am curious to know how they did it so I could take notes and apply it to ruining my brother in the future.
“Shall we kill her too?” Brix spoke up from the silence.
“Shut up, Brix.” The man said and turned to me, “You look like you have a lot of questions. But aren’t you supposed to be running?”
I frowned, “Why would I be?” Asking that back, I cleared my throat, realizing that was not the proper response for this danger. If he managed to wipe out the whole Dark Claws pack, then he’d surely be able to crush me in a matter of seconds.
He looked disappointedly at me, “Have you no sense of danger, she-wolf? Or did your father not train you enough to fight any rogues you encounter?”
I ignored his comment, “You’re a rogue..how did you manage to hide your scent?”
“You have too many questions for someone who just witnessed a rogue sacking the whole pack.”
Yes, and I hate to admit that I feel amazed.
“If we’re not killing her, should we just leave her and ask for backup?” Brix asked him.
“It’s not like she has anyone to ask for help now. She’s a lost cause, her pack abandoned her. Exiled her.”
I rolled my eyes, “Oh, so you investigated me.”
“No, I just knew it with the talk from everyone.” He yawned, “This is getting boring, Let’s go Brix just leave her.”
“Wait, what’s your name?” I attempted to ask.
“I don’t have any time to talk to you, bitch.”
I gritted my teeth, “I have a name, bastard.”
I think I hit a nerve when I called him a bastard. And heck he deserves it. He seemed to think for a moment, “I change my mind. Since she’s the daughter of Alpha Theodore, we’ll be raiding them next. Let’s keep her captive before killing her when we arrive right in front of her father. Tie her up and make sure she doesn’t run her mouth.”
“Yes, Master Creed!”
I blinked. Creed? The same Creed that I had some feelings for when I was still a pup? And he’s raiding my father’s pack which is now being ruled by Ceylan. Wow, he must have not heard the news.
Brix was about to put a clothe to my mouth but I pushed him, “Wait, Creed Velementov? The same Creed that is the son of Alpha-“
“Shut your fucking mouth, Nyra.” He snapped at me, and I wondered how the hell the same sweetheart Creed who couldn’t break a rock is the same Creed in front of me, taking me as his prisoner? He’s supposed to be taking after his father!
But most of all, If he’s not an alpha and a rogue now, why are we mates?
The Mistbane territory stretched endlessly under the rising sun, a tapestry of dense forests, sparkling rivers, and jagged cliffs that marked the pack’s dominion. The air was crisp, carrying the faint scent of pine, earth, and the distant ocean. Birds sang in the canopy, wolves howled in the valley, and somewhere in the distance, a river rushed over rocks with soothing rhythm. It was alive—and under the careful stewardship of Creed and Nyra, it thrived.Creed walked beside me along the cliffside, his tall frame steady, exuding authority that the pack had learned to respect. His golden eyes scanned the horizon, but every so often, they softened as they fell on me. My fingers brushed against his, and he responded with a gentle squeeze, a silent reminder that no matter the power he wielded as Alpha, I was always at the center of his world.“Look at them,” I murmured, watching the young shifters tumble and train below in the clearing. “They’re… growing strong.”Creed’s lips curved into a
Creed’s POVI squeezed her hand, grounding her, letting her feel the tether that hadn’t broken despite memory gaps and Kira’s lingering influence.“Nyra,” I said softly. “Listen to me. Whatever happens, stay with me. Focus on our bond. Don’t let them… manipulate you.”Her gaze met mine, uncertain but slowly gaining strength. “I’ll try,” she whispered.I leaned closer, pressing my forehead to hers. “No ‘try.’ You’ll succeed. And I’ll be right here, every step.”Even as Sebastian explained the danger, my mind was only on her—on keeping her safe, helping her remember, helping her master the power that had already saved us once.Nyra’s POVA sudden rustle cut through the silence. The forest seemed to shiver as shadows slithered across the ground, black tendrils curling and writhing like living smoke. My pulse quickened, fear creeping in—but this time, Creed was there.“Focus, Nyra,” he said, voice steady and grounding. “Feel the bond. Use it.”I took a shaky breath, letting his energy anc
Creed’s POV I clenched my fists, fighting the urge to rip Amendus apart where he stood. His retreat didn’t matter. He would be back. And next time, he wouldn’t come alone. But right now, my focus was her. Nyra. She was alive, powerful, but fragile. Her memories were fragmented, like glass shards floating in a dark ocean. Every flicker of recognition hurt me, because she could almost remember me… but she didn’t. I could feel the bond, though—weak, but tethered. And that was enough. I pulled her close, wrapping her trembling body in my arms. “I don’t care what it takes,” I murmured against her hair. “I’ll bring you back. I’ll make you remember. Even if it kills me.” Her hands twitched, caught between fighting me and holding on. I could see the struggle—the battle inside her head between herself and Kira’s lingering essence. And I knew it wouldn’t be easy. Alpha Ace’s POV Ace had been standing guard, fur bristling, eyes scanning the dark forest. He relaxed slightly as Amendus retr
Creed’s POV The bastard picked the worst moment. Nyra was barely hanging on, her memories fractured. But I had no choice. If we fell here, Sebastian would win without lifting a finger. Alpha Ace shifted first, his massive wolf form crashing into a Wendigo, teeth ripping into its shoulder. Gusev darted in the other direction, claws flashing with unnatural speed. I lunged for Amendus. Our claws met in a shower of sparks, silver against shadow. His strength was monstrous, but I didn’t care—I had rage, I had the mate bond, and I had nothing left to lose. Behind me, I heard Nyra’s gasp. A Wendigo was closing in on her. “Nyra!” I roared, my heart seizing. Nyra’s POV Time slowed. The Wendigo’s jaws gaped wide, dripping black sludge. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe. Then—like lightning—a vision hit me. Blood. Fire. My hands glowing with something fierce and wild. A voice that wasn’t mine whispered: It’s in you. Use it. I didn’t think. I screamed, thrusting out my hand. A shockwav
I woke to fire. Wendigo corpses smoldered, their stench choking. Three figures loomed above me, blurred in the flames. “You slew them,” a pale man whispered. “Four Wendigos. Wolfsbane did its work.” Beside me, a woman stirred, blind eyes opening. “Did it… work?” she asked. The tall one growled, pulling her close. “It worked. And it blinded you.” He seized the pale man, slammed him into ash. “Touch my mate again and I’ll rip you apart.” The pale man coughed blood, laughing. “Ungrateful mutts. I may have forgotten a detail… Wolfsbane has side effects. Blindness… or memory loss.” Another man stepped forward. His face was calm, but his eyes—his eyes burned like they’d split the earth. “Nyra,” he whispered, voice breaking. “It’s me.” The name struck like an echo, hollow in my chest. I searched his face, desperate to know him. Nothing. “Who are you?” I whispered. His jaw clenched. His hands shook. “Damn it. Not again.” He turned his fury on the pale man. “You’ve taken everything fro
Walking and talking was the easy part. What I hated was closing my eyes. Every time I blinked, it felt like someone was screaming inside my skull, another consciousness tearing at me, shredding me apart from the inside out. It was exhausting, holding power that wasn’t mine inside a body that wasn’t mine. My skin prickled like it didn’t belong, and though my feet touched the ground, I felt as if I were floating—untethered. The air thinned around me until every breath was like drowning. And Kira didn’t help. Her voice was coaxing, tempting. Come to my realm, she whispered. The witch realm. Every time she urged me, the pressure in my chest grew heavier, my head lighter, as if I’d suffocate before I got there. Creed must have felt my struggle, because his hand found my waist. His thumb traced circles against my palm, his lips brushing my shoulder. “I’m here,” he murmured. “If it gets too much, squeeze my hand.” His gaze anchored me, warm and unyielding. Then— “I have information.” T
