Aria:

The guards placed the heavy box in the center of Dominic’s chamber, their expressions pale, tense.

I stood behind them, hands clasped tightly, trying to steady my breathing.

My heart ached, and Katherine’s face was the one thing that I could see amidst all of this…

“Dominic, you need to listen…”

He didn’t bother, nor did he stop. Instead, his attention was on the box that they brought in. The presents that he’d given me.

Dominic watched from beside his desk, arms crossed, jaw set like stone.

“Open it,” he ordered.

The lid lifted.

Silk, jewelry, boots, fabrics, the gifts he’d sent.

I stared at the box, knowing that I hadn’t moved anything from there. I didn’t even get to see most of what was inside.

But as Dominic’s eyes scanned the contents, his expression darkened.

“Where is the silver necklace?” he demanded. “I know for fucking fact that I put in this silver necklace.”

My heart dropped.

I hadn’t even seen the necklace, the guards had opened the box, but I barely glanced at the

  • Alpha Salvatore   Chapter 133

Aria:Pain.Real, consuming pain, nothing like the training aches, nothing like the wounds of battle, nothing like the torment of fear or heartbreak. This pain was primal.Relentless.Crushing.My old room in the consort hall spun around me. The sheets were soaked. My knees trembled. Sweat coated my face as another contraction ripped through me, stealing my breath, tearing a broken cry from my throat.“Aria, breathe… breathe, sweetheart. You’re doing so well.” My mother’s voice, steady, calm, even though I could hear the panic trembling beneath her words. She held my hand, rubbing circles on my arm, guiding me through each wave. “I just need you to breathe, my beautiful wolf.”“Mama… please…” I gasped, tears blurring my vision. “I… I need Dominic. Please… where is Dominic, please…?”“He’s coming,” she whispered, brushing hair from my face. “He’s coming, baby. Just focus on breathing. He is going to be right here next to you. I just need you to breathe.”But I couldn’t.The pain slamme

  • Alpha Salvatore   Chapter 132

Katherine:I had been avoiding her.Avoiding them.Dominic’s words still echoed sometimes… the coldness of them, the finality. Yet here I was, still Luna by title, still dressed in silk and jewels, still walking the halls because the elders had insisted, because protocol demanded it, because the council wanted to see how things unfolded. And because they managed to keep in me place after I was injured.Flashback:“She is going to stay until she has healed.” Dominic said, not bothering to look at me.“She still is your Luna, Alpha Dominic. And now, more than ever, she is going to need your protection.” Elder Lucas said, looking at Dominic. “Leaving her to go out after she has healed… it is going to make her an easy target.”Dominic wanted to respond, he wanted to say something… but to my surprise. He said nothing. “You are going to be taken care of, Luna Katherine.” Elder Lucas said, not looking at me. “So as long as you remember your place, and remember not to cross boundaries that y

  • Alpha Salvatore   Chapter 131

Aria:The balcony was washed in late-morning sunlight, warm against my skin despite the cool air. My mother sat beside me on the cushioned bench, my little brother asleep in her arms, his tiny breaths soft as feathers. For a long while, neither of us spoke. I just… watched him. Watched the little rise and fall of his chest. Watched the peacefulness on her face as she held him.“I can’t believe that you are here.” It felt unreal, having her here. After everything. “I thought that I would never see you again. When I left that day, when they gave me the rules of no family… I thought that I wouldn’t see you again.”“Now, now, I am here by your side. You don’t need to think about anything that happened in the past.” She said, looking at the field ahead of us.When she finally turned her eyes to me, they were soft. “Aria,” she murmured, brushing a stray curl from my face the way she used to. “You’re going to be alright. You and this little one.” Her gaze dropped to my stomach, and she smile

  • Alpha Salvatore   Chapter 130

Dominic:The morning light filtered through the curtains, soft and golden, falling across the woman sleeping in my arms.My mate.My Aria.Eight months. Eight long months since the attack. Eight months of her swollen belly pressed against me every night, of my wolf refusing to let her walk anywhere without me hovering behind her like a shadow. And now, any day… I knew that we would be holding our little one in our arms.I felt her stir before she opened her eyes. A soft sound escaped her, half-breath, half-complaint, and I couldn’t stop the smile that pulled at my lips as I brushed my thumb across the curve of her stomach. Her eyes fluttered open, hazy and warm. The moment she registered my hand on her belly, she smiled, soft, glowing, radiant in a way that made my chest ache.“Morning,” she whispered.I leaned in and kissed her forehead, my other arm tightening around her waist. “Morning, love.”Her hand moved over mine, pressing it more firmly against her belly. Our child responded

  • Alpha Salvatore   Chapter 129

Aria:Steam curled softly around me as I sank into the warm bath, trying to scrub away the blood, mine, theirs, Brenna’s, from my skin. It wouldn’t come off. Not really. It felt carved into my bones.I had just leaned back when the bathroom door opened.Dominic stepped in without a word, his eyes scanning me in one slow sweep—checking, searching, counting every bruise as though looking for ones he somehow missed. His gaze caught on my shoulder.Where the claw mark cut deep. But I couldn’t care less.At this point, this cut was the easiest thing that happened today. He moved toward me, jaw tightening, but when he reached the tub his expression softened. His fingers brushed over the wound, barely a touch, but I still winced. He froze.“We need to get this cleaned, it is a little too deep for you to just leave it like that.” he murmured. His voice wasn’t Alpha-strong now. It was quiet. Almost careful. “You should have told me you were hurt. I would have covered it before you entered the

  • Alpha Salvatore   Chapter 128

Dominic:The attack died down with the same eerie swiftness it had begun, one moment steel and blood and bodies falling, the next a suffocating silence settling over the estate like ash after a wildfire. It was dark inside, given the fact that I had ordered for the power to be cut off. But the last thing that I expected was everything to die out so quickly once the power had been cut off.I stood in the courtyard, chest heaving, my wolf clawing at my insides as men dragged corpses out of hallways and searched for survivors. Every instinct in me demanded that I keep moving, keep destroying anything that threatened her. But I forced myself still long enough to issue orders.“Search every corridor,” I barked. “Every exit, every tunnel. I want every dead accounted for and every living questioned. I want to know who betrayed us from the inside, and I want to know what damage they did.”Alessandro’s boots echoed as he came to a stop beside me, wiping blood from his jaw. “Alpha… this doesn’t
