HARLEY

The party was already in full swing by the time Shane and I arrived.

Laughter spilled out from the wide-open doors of Aaron’s house, along with pulsing music and the hum of chatter. Multicolored lights danced across the driveway, where students mingled in groups, red cups in hand, half of them already tipsy.

Shane’s hand was firm but gentle on the small of my back as we stepped in together. The warmth of his touch steadied me. I was still shaken from the earlier attack, still hearing the echo of that rogue wolf’s growl in my head. But Shane hadn’t left my side since. And that alone gave me strength I didn’t know I needed.

“You okay?” he leaned close, voice soft in my ear.

I nodded quickly, managing a small smile. “Yeah. Just… trying to act normal.”

His eyes scanned the crowd before returning to mine. “You don’t need to pretend around me. If it gets to be too much, we’ll leave.”

I squeezed his hand. “No. I want to be here. With you.”

He smiled, and I swore I saw the faintest fli

JULIETI don’t know what was in Roy’s cologne, but standing beside him made my heart race in a way no guy ever had—not even Matt. And the way he looked at me… like I was someone powerful, someone worth looking at.We’d slipped away from the main room, the music still pulsing in the background as we leaned against the balcony railing on the second floor. Below us, the party raged on—Harley and Shane still clinging to each other like some tragic fairytale. I rolled my eyes.“They look so perfect together, don’t they?” I said sarcastically, sipping from the drink I’d snagged earlier. “Everyone thinks she’s some sweet, tragic little thing who deserves the world.”Roy glanced down at them, then turned to me with that easy, unreadable smirk. “You don’t like her much, do you?”I scoffed. “Harley? She doesn’t deserve half the things she has. And she’s definitely not strong enough to be with someone like Shane. She’s weak. Always has been.”Roy nodded slowly, as if he was absorbing my words. “

  • Alpha Shane Human Mate   Chapter 50

JULIETIt was almost sunset, and I was still in my robe, lounging on the velvet chaise in our living room with a face mask half-dried and music playing low from my phone. The party was just hours away, but I hadn’t decided whether I wanted to go yet. I mean, I could always make a grand entrance if I felt like it.I was scrolling through messages when the doorbell rang. With a groan, I peeled myself off the couch and made my way to the door, not bothering to fix the strands of hair sticking to my cheek. The moment I opened it, I blinked.Lauren stood there, dressed to kill, her long waves perfectly curled and lips glossed like glass. But it wasn’t just her that caught my attention—it was the man standing beside her.He was tall, lean in a dangerous kind of way, and completely out of place on our doorstep. His dark eyes scanned me like I was already a piece on his chessboard. My breath caught slightly when he offered a smile—sharp, charming, and devilish all at once.“Hey,” Lauren greet

HARLEYEverything is chaos. The boutique lights flicker above me as the werewolf’s grip tightens on my arm. My heart pounds like a drum inside my chest, and I can’t breathe—can’t think. The man’s words echo in my ears: “Roy wants her in chains. Controlled. Dead if necessary.”And I can’t stop shaking.I scream, louder this time, from somewhere deep in my chest, but it’s swallowed by the growls and snarls now filling the room. A blur of motion crashes through the boutique door. There’s shouting—low voices barking commands—then furniture topples, mannequins fall, and glass shatters as growls erupt on all sides. And then—He lets go.I drop to the floor, scrambling backward on my hands, gasping, as the man who had me is suddenly tackled to the ground by a wolf with reddish fur streaked with black.More shadows crash into the room. I see Connor’s face first—furious, sharp, his amber eyes glowing with lethal promise. Jasper and Kade follow, fangs bared, muscles coiled with rage. The wolf t

SHANE“Let her go,” I said again, stepping forward, every nerve in my body straining. The intruding wolf tightened his grip on Harley’s arm, his fingers pressing into her skin. Her eyes widened, and her breath came in sharp, panicked gasps. I could smell her fear—it cut through the perfume of satin and boutique polish like acid. She whimpered softly, her whole body stiff. “Shane…”That sound—the way she said my name—ripped something loose inside me.But the intruder? He just smiled.“You look surprised to see me,” he said lazily, not loosening his grip. “But I’ve been watching. You’ve gotten soft, Alpha.”I growled, fists clenched at my sides. “Who sent you?”He grinned wider, eyes glinting like a predator that had found wounded prey. “Do I really have to say it? Roy sends his regards. Said to remind you that he always gets what he wants.”I stepped closer, every instinct screaming to rip this man’s arm from his body. “You have no idea who you’re messing with.”“Oh, I know exactly who

SHANEI watch Harley from across the room as she brushes her hair into a messy ponytail, one knee tucked up beneath her on the couch, completely unaware of how easily she throws my world off balance. She’s been quiet today. Thoughtful. Her eyes have this faraway look, like she’s carrying a weight too heavy for her age. I want to take it from her, whatever it is. So I rise from the table and walk over, letting my hand gently brush her arm.“Come on,” I say softly. She blinks up at me, confused. “Come on… where?”“I want to take you somewhere,” I say, unable to help the smirk curling on my lips. “A surprise. Something small before the party tonight.”Her brows draw together. “Shane, I swear if this is another one of those wolf-world training things, I’m not—”“It’s not,” I interrupt, laughing. “It’s something nice. Just… come with me.”Still wary, she eyes me for a long moment, then sighs and stands. “Fine. But if this turns into a chase through the woods, I’m biting you.”“You’ll try,”

HARLEYAs the bell rang, signaling the end of class, Mr. Lee gathered his papers and left the room, nodding briefly to us as he exited. The moment the door closed behind him, our class captain, Aaron, jumped up from his seat and strode to the front of the room, a wide grin on his face.“Alright, everyone!” Aaron called out, clapping his hands to get our attention. “Who’s down for a party at my place this weekend? Tomorrow night!”A cheer went up, and a few people started whooping and clapping, clearly thrilled by the idea. Aaron’s parties were legendary, and everyone knew he went all out with music, food, and everything else. I could feel the buzz of excitement spreading through the room as people started making plans, already talking about what they’d wear and who they’d go with.“Everyone’s invited!” Aaron added, holding his arms out. “Bring whoever you want! It’s gonna be epic!”He left the front of the room, grinning as he returned to his seat, and I couldn’t help but smile. It ha

LAURENThe morning air was filled with a quiet tension as I sat near the back of the school courtyard, hidden away from prying eyes. I glanced around to ensure no one was listening, my eyes sharp and focused. The two omega wolves I’d summoned, both tall and wiry with watchful eyes, approached cautiously, glancing around before settling down across from me.One of them, the older wolf with a thin scar across his jaw, leaned forward, his voice low and eager. “You have news for us, Lauren?”I nodded, lowering my voice. “Yes. Shane has finally found a mate… but it’s not what anyone expected.”The younger wolf raised an eyebrow, a slow grin spreading across his face. “Oh, old story. And what poor soul has he bonded with?”“A human,” I replied, my tone laced with disbelief. “A weak human girl. She has no powers, no strength, nothing to offer him. It’s pathetic, really. Shane, the supposed alpha, mated to someone who can barely defend herself, let alone an entire pack.”They exchanged amused

  • Alpha Shane Human Mate   Chapter 44

SHANEI sat across from Connor in his office, my head pounding as I tried to articulate the frustration twisting in my gut. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t shake the feeling of emptiness that gnawed at me. The bond with Harley was supposed to fix this, to fill the void and reignite the strength I’d lost. But instead, it seemed to leave me even more vulnerable, more powerless.“I’m not getting stronger, Connor,” I said, my voice low and tense. “If anything, I feel weaker than before. This was a mistake. I should’ve stayed away from her… from Harley.”Connor’s eyes were sympathetic but steady, unwavering. “Shane, that’s the curse talking. Mating with Harley was never a mistake. She’s your mate; she’s part of you. This has to be some interference from Roy or whoever set this curse on you.”“But that’s just it,” I replied, clenching my fists. “If the bond can’t fix it, then what’s the point? She’s human, Connor. What if all I’ve done is pull her into my world only to make her vuln
