The next morning, most of the students were already boarding the buses when I ran across the front lawn with Aggy, Piper, and Paige. Sleek black buses were parked in rows—they looked insanely cool.

Since I didn't have any casual clothes, I was stuck in my uniform. My roommates offered to lend me theirs, but I couldn't bring myself to accept. I already felt like too much of a burden.

I was almost at the front of the line to board when Genesis suddenly hugged me.

"Good morning, beautiful!" he greeted me happily.

Paige, Piper, and Aggy cleared their throats loudly in mock disapproval.
