KILLIAN'S POV
I was sleeping on my bed.
Or at least that was what I remembered. Because now, my back was pressed against a rough, hard tree bark, not the mattress. My nostrils were filled with the scent of wet moss and earth.
As I recalled, Celeste was wrapped around me, but now, I felt alone. The silence was unnatural. There was no movement or breathing, as I would usually sense when she was close, which meant one thing: She wasn't close.
That single realization forced me to open my eyes. I stared around in utter confusion and awe. I was indeed in the forest, and I wasn't just dreaming. I blinked multiple times to make sure I wasn't just imagining things
JEREMY'S POVI was watching and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Working with Selena has given me a good insight into how the supposed "strongest Alpha" can be tackled easily. And after her death, I vowed to myself that I was going to find a way to take him down. Not because I wanted to avenge her or anything. But for myself, for my ego, and for every other person who feels Killian had his feet on their neck.Since then, I withdrew from the council, and thanks to that distraction he has for a mate, he doesn't even notice my absence. I have been working alongside the witches, looking for a weak opening to slip in, something we can use to our advantage. I dragged Victor in, but I never thought he would be stupid enough to let himself get caught.

CELESTE’S POVI said goodbye to Kristen and laughed when he mentioned that he hoped that would be the last time I showed up there. Honestly, I was hoping the same thing, too.I raced up the stairs, two at a time, eager to meet Killian but mostly to get away from Victor. I couldn't for the life of me wrap my head around what he had said.Fortunately for me, Killian was already seated at the dining table when I showed up. Even more to uplift my spirit, he was surrounded by his doctors, and they had a crystal vial filled to the brim with a glowing pale green liquid. No one needed to tell me what that was supposed to be.“It seems I showed up right on time.” I beamed
CELESTE'S POV"Victor was the second person to be imprisoned in the dungeon after it was abandoned for decades, " Kristen said. My mother was the first, but unlike her, his cell was close to the main entrance, the closest to the entrance door, actually. After Kristen had guided me in with two guards for protection, he had closed the large door back up. At that moment, I was tempted to dash down the hallway and check on my mother. I told her how to escape, but she hasn't made any attempts yet. The suspense was killing me.But I didn't, I managed to talk myself out of it. I have done for her what I could; it's now left for her to use that information wisely."The door's he
CELESTE'S POVI have never seen him this vulnerable. Even when he was lying in that bed helplessly, with no way to move until someone helped. Even then, he still had the demeanor of that strong Alpha I was used to seeing. But tonight.....tonight was horrible. He looked broken, and the heart-shattering part was, he wasn't even trying to mask it. Which expressed just how hurt he was. Most of the time, his pain was not for display, and he would properly shove it behind a facade, but tonight was an exception. I studied him from where I stood, trying to decide which way was the best to get him to speak to me about his worry.Slowly, still with no clue how to go about it, I moved close to him on the bed. I only stopped moving when I
KILLIAN'S POVWhen the guards walked in with Logan behind them, Victor was still on the ground, heaving and yelling for whatever reason, I have no idea."Seize him and put him in the dungeon. No one is allowed to communicate with him until I state otherwise." I looked straight ahead as I declared, refusing to look toward Logan. As much as Logan isn't a people person, I couldn't deny the fact that Victor had grown on him over time, and this will come up as a hefty shock to him just as much as it was to me.He remained silent, though, and only followed the guards with his eyes until they had walked out of the room with Victor, who was still wailing like his world had just ended. Well, technically, it just did.
