Killian’s POV

I stepped out of my office, rolling my shoulders as I headed towards the large glass window.

My body felt stiff from sitting for hours and I massaged my arm as I watched the pack's outdoor dining area from the window.

It was lunchtime, and I always gave my men the freedom to eat anytime. They needed it.

I was about to look away when Celeste and the maid entered with trays of food. I hadn't asked anyone to make her a maid. Flora was going to answer me.

She served the food with the other maids and she looked nervous. That was the job for the maids, not her.

The men talked loudly as they ate. A few were focused on her and I leaned closer to the glass, my finger curling into a fist.

One of the men, Riker, let his hand drift too close to her waist.

He dared!

Celeste felt it and moved away. Riker laughed with his friends, saying something to each other. I watched Celeste's face turn pale.

She tried to ignore him and served the next person when his hand gripped her wris

Killian’s POVI held her hand when she didn't move and led her out of the dining hall. I was pissed, pulling her as I walked, climbing the stairs, and swung the room’s door open. She stumbled in, and I closed the door, grabbing hold of both her hands. “What were you doing?” I asked, a little bit louder than I hoped. “What do you mean?” She replied. “Out there. With them?” Celeste batted her eyelashes and finally understood what I was saying. “Serving,” she answered. “Since when did I ever make you a maid?” I questioned. She pulled her hands, trying to get free. “I was just helping.”“Helping? I never asked you to. That's the maid's work!” I yelled. “I know, but…” she started. “I don't care. I don't want to see you there again,” my voice rocked coldly. Letting my grip loosen, she pulled back slightly. I watched her breath, her face turning red and she glared at me. “That's it!” She breathed. “I have had it with you, your stupid rules and dragging me down to hell!” She yelle

Killian's POV“Not now, Logan,” I replied through the mind-link.“Trust me, you're going to be surprised,” Logan responded.I ended the mind link and got up. I should ignore Logan and whoever the hell it was.“She's right here. Finish what you started,” my wolf whispered.Celeste seemed to have caught onto what I was thinking with my eyes fixed on her body. She chuckled lightly and pointed to the door. “You should get that.”I turned to look at the door, frustrated and Logan knocked again.“Don't tempt me, Logan!” I screamed in the mind link.

Celeste's POV:I felt the world turn, making me dizzy as I tried to sit up. Killian rushed to my side helping me up.My sight blurry the minute I raised my gaze.“Are you okay?” Kiliian whispered, holding my arm.“Yeah,” I responded calmly. My knees buckled as soon as I rose and I fell again. Killian was fast, catching me with his strong hands, steadying me.“What did you do to her?” Killian asked, his voice strangely deep and cold.“That wasn't me. It was her wolf,” Selene replied, acting

Selene's POVWalking out of the meeting hall had surprisingly made me feel better. It was good to see I had power over the werewolves. They wouldn't know what hit them.Killian had signed their death warrant. Four maids were waiting for me and the tallest, a young pretty lady, showed me the way. “Follow me,” she said. I didn't hesitate and let my bag drop to the floor. The maids stayed at both my sides, having a blank expression. The blonde maid picked it up, and I caught a silent hiss from her. I had just made an enemy. She wouldn't last a day with me. The only sound I could hear was my heels stepping on the floor. Something wasn’t right here. Their hands shook slightly as they opened the door leading to a different hallway. And then, I noticed. This wasn't the way to the rooms. Where the hell were they going?I stopped walking, and the maids halted, turning to look at me. “Where are we going?”“This isn't the way to the rooms,” I complained. They kept quiet, infuriating me. Selene’s POVThe moment I opened the door, I wore a practiced, sweet smile. A harmless expression. One that made the world lower its guard. She looked timid, with calm eyes. I glanced over at the tray in her hand and the plate of food covered on it. “Your food, Miss Selene,” she said softly. I stretched my hand, ready to take my food, when a wicked smirk appeared on her face. In one swift movement, she pulled the tray away and swung it towards my face. But I was ready, I had expected something like that. I didn't flinch, only moving my finger, and the air froze. “Foolish girl,” I said, and she gasped. She froze mid-motion. The tray remained in the air between us, and I stepped forwards slowly until my face was close to hers. She gulped, and I whispered into her ears. “I am a witch!”She groaned and widened her eyes in panic. I had her trapped in her body and moved my fingers again, controlling her to stand upright. “What are you doing?” She asked, but I kept moving around her

Celeste’s POVI grew tired of being alone and took Vanessa with me out to the garden. She looked around, smiling as she looked at the flowers. It was dark except for the lights from the bright bulbs. The cloud looked darker tonight, and I guessed it would rain, but it only stayed in one place. The thunder clapped, and I turned quickly in fear, cowering. Vanessa chuckled, holding me. “You're still scared of the thunder?” She asked. I tried to cover my shame and pulled away from her, clearing my throat and sniffing. “No, I'm not. I don't fear the thunder.”“I can see that,” she mocked, and we started laughing. My shoulder ached, but I refused to touch it. It had started the first moment the new moon arrived.“How are you?” Vanessa asked, looking at me. “I'm good,” I answered. “That's not what I meant. How are you? The pack and everything?” She asked. “I can't say I'm doing that great, or bad either. Killian protects me, but most times. I feel like a part of me is missing. I sti

Celeste's POV:Vanessa pulled my arm, snapping me from my thoughts. “Who is she?” She asked. “Some sorceress that's here to help me,” I answered. “She looks like she's going to make it worse,” Vanessa argued. “I know,” I answered. “Then?” Vanessa asked. “She got Killian to make her a deal,” I answered. Vanessa scoffed and grabbed my hand. I raised an eyebrow, confused. “Come. We're going to see what that witch is up to,” Vanessa said, pulling me with her into the packhouse. Once we got in, I froze. That hissing sound rang in my ears again, making me want to scream. “You came, perfect,” the voice breathed in my ears. Go away. Shut the hell up!“You should have known by now that I have telepathy. The wolves have it too. Don't fight it or you'll make it worse,” the voice hissed in my mind. I looked up to see Selene smiling at me and the mai

Killian’s POV Charlotte screamed, growling and snarled while holding her. She twisted like a mad possessed woman. “Charlotte, snap out of it! “ I said, using the mind link, but she wasn't listening. She didn't even react to my voice. “Charlotte! Your alpha commands you!” She growled, giving a bloody eerie scream. I frowned, tightening my lips into a straight line. Charlotte! I tried once more, but a loud screeching sound rang in my head. She screamed, her voice cracking with the heavy wind that suddenly came into the room, blowing the windows open. I didn't want to hurt her. I couldn't. She wasn't herself. “Charlotte,” I called, trying once more to reach her. She stopped, turning her gaze towards Celeste, her body contouring to the same way. Then her eyes darkened and glowed. “Oh my God,” Celeste gasped, and Charlotte roared. Vanessa began running towards Celeste as Charlotte roared. I felt my blood run cold, and she pulled away from my grip.

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 79: A Good Day, Mostly

Celeste's POVI was so damn sweaty as I woke up. Something must have jolted me awake. At the moment, I couldn’t seem to think clearly. Why am I not surprised, though? Still, I was not as sweaty or out of breath as I tend to be in the mornings these days. Simply put, warm. Like a soft touch, the light brushed the bed as it spilled through the drapes. I buried my head more in the pillow and remained there for a while, listening to the noises of the neighbourhood starting to reverberate.Laughter, footsteps, and voices.Typical.Selene was seemingly nowhere, and that to me was a more than welcome development. No shifting ideas that weren't mine, no whispers in my mind, and no shadows pulling at the edges of my consciousness.I was alone. It was also pleasant.I slowly woke up my limbs by stretching beneath the covers. I felt the little wounds over my palm, traces of something I still didn't entirely recall, when my fingers touched the edge of the blankets. I couldn't bear the thought of

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 78: Peace talk?

Killian’s POVI sat in my office, eyes on the file in front of me. It was a thick folder, full of names—young pups, barely old enough to walk steady, who were being enrolled into the new training program. The idea was to teach them how to shift safely during full moons, so no one got hurt. Some of these kids didn’t even know what they were yet. And I needed to be sure we picked the right mentors for them. The list was long. But I didn’t mind. This was the kind of work that kept me grounded. Calm. Focused. My pen tapped against the corner of the file as I flipped another page, reading over names, pack lineages, and notes from their parents. I made little marks in the margins—just small things I’d remember later. I didn’t want to rush it.Then, five minutes in, there was a knock. It was soft. Hesitant. Like whoever stood outside the door wasn’t sure if they should be here.“Come in,” I said, without looking up.But the second the door creaked open, I smelled him before I even saw his f

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 77: Escaping my own reality

Celeste’s POVI walked across the wide lawn of Midnight Moon Paradise under the pale glow of the moon. The grass was very cool and soft beneath my bare feet. I kept my eyes on the ground, as If I was lost in my own thoughts, though I did not know what I was thinking about.I felt very restless, like a bird trapped in a cage. Vanessa’s face kept floating in my mind, but it was a half-remembered image, blurred at the edges. I knew I didn’t trust Vanessa, but I was worried even more about my own self. Somewhere inside me, something had gone wrong. My memories felt extremely thin, like they could slip away at any moment. I tried to hold onto a single clear thought, but it dissolved before she could pin it down. Every time I tried to remember a name, a place, or a promise, the words would just drift away. That confusion, that fear, was pressed down on my chest. I knew I needed a break from my own mind. I kept walking until I found a smooth concrete stone in the middle of the lawn. It l

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 76: Shadows of Deception

Vanessa’s POVCeleste was losing touch with reality.I saw it happen for a week, her laughter absent, her warmth lost. She avoided conversation and seemed to forget what she wanted to say in the middle of a sentence. Her eyes became dull, and she stayed alone. Tonight, I followed her.She paced alone through the dark corridors, almost robotically. When she stepped out into the open air, I stayed put, back there behind the tall hedges. She drifted, her hair brushing the moonlight as she moved across an empty field. Then she stopped. Her body was tense, and her head was tipped to the side. I could see her lips moving but heard nothing. My stomach twisted. It was unnatural and eerie. She was muttering to herself in a low, detached voice as if she were addressing someone only she could see."Celeste?" My voice called gently as I got closer to her. She spasmed violently, her head whipping toward me.

Killian’s POVThe walls of my office had felt too confining, the metal cage of it closing in all around me.Celeste’s voice was running in my head, cutting like a knife. It cut deep enough that I couldn’t focus. How could she see me as a monster? My fists were clenched. I wanted to punch something.I flew out of my office and stalked down to the private training room, shouldering the door open with enough force that it slammed into the wall. The noise hardly penetrated. I grabbed the nearest heavy bag I could find, set my feet, and punched it with abandon. The opening pu

Celeste’s POVI gasped for breath, my chest heaving as I sat up straight. My hands grabbed at the sheets, soaked with sweat; my pulse thumped so hard it vibrated in my skull. Darkness surrounded me, it was close and suffocating. Quickly, I turned on the lamp by my bedside. Something was wrong with me. Every night I woke up sweating with blood on my palm sometimes. I never remembered what I did and was scared I had hurt someone. I balled my fingers into fists, my nails biting into my palms, searching for a tether on the ground. But the nightmare continued to cling to me, unwilling to set me free.Killian’s voice echoed in my head. It was bitter and cruel.“I was never, ever going to let you go, Celeste. You were mine to break."I pressed my eyes shut tight, but images sizzled and burned behind my eyelids. Every time Killian's bloodied hand would reach for me.I couldn't take this anymore. “Leave me alone. Go away!” I yelled, covering my ears as the eerie whispering voice continued

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 73: The Game of The Puppeteer 1

Selene’s POV: Celeste was slipping.I watched her from the mirror every day, fighting against the seed of doubt I had put in her mind. It made me furious to see she still had the spirit to refuse me. I needed her to be done with Killian as fast as possible. Only a great heartbreak could fully awaken her power, and since she was under my spell. I would have access to her powers and be rewarded with immortality. She was almost there. I just needed to add more flame. Something to make her act out and lose Killian's trust. Each time she defied my instructions, I increased the spell’s effect. Twice, she fell off the bed, and I felt my blood boil when Killian came to check up on her just when I started. I made her attack him in her sleep, and he pinned her down till the next morning. She was pathetic, as I expected. On the seventh day, I had completely invaded her mind and made her stay longer doing what I asked. I kept creating and heightening her father's death at the hands of Killi

Celeste’s POVThe darkness lay out before me, waiting still. They reeked of gunpowder and of gas, of memories of where I was and what sort of world this was that I was a captive in. Killian vanished into the dark alley. I had been observing him for days, building up his actions, waiting to get the timing perfect to reveal him for who he actually was.A murderer. The man who killed my father. The image burned my mind, pushing me on as I crept noiselessly down the manor corridors. I easily moved past the room leading to the doorway. The lower I descended, the more I felt smothered. I kept following him, and almost gave up when he walked into another hallway. I remained behind, resting against the courtyard wall as Killian stood beneath the faint illumination of the overhead light bulbs. He was not alone. There were other men around him, and they were standing too close. His tone was low, and each sentence softly commandingly declared. "The delivery will be made at dawn. Any hindra

Killian’s POVCeleste's body trembled in my arms, her breath turned irregular, her chest became cold. The moment I saved her back from falling, something within me twisted. It was the sick, disgusting awareness that I had nearly lost her.I had saved her from committing suicide, but that was not what unsettled me. When I pulled her away from the hug gradually, I noticed her eyes. They glowed…green. No normal wolf had eyes like that, and even if she weren't a normal wolf. I had first seen her eyes when her birthmark had glowed and they were blue. She floated in and out of consciousness from the second I drew her away from the edge of the stairs."Celeste," I whispered, shaking her lightly. But She gave no response. Her lashes fluttered, and her lips opened, but she was held by whatever nightmare pulled at her below. My jaw tightened as I dragged her back in.
